Jonathan Swift used the term breeder as early as the 1700s, specifically in "A Modest Proposal". The term was used to liken women more to being livestock instead of wives/mothers. He took issue with families who had too many children and are unable to properly rear them.
The term really picked up again when the gay marriage debate started in the mid 2000s.
Queer again had much earlier usage, first recorded around the 1500s. The word started to shift in the 1890s, most notably when a Scottish nobleman was arrested for accusing Oscar Wilde of being a sodomite, particularly with his son.
tl;dr most shit shifted during the late 19th/early 20th centuries, around the same time as the coinage of the world "homosexual" itself.

I'd think it depends on how often you see each other.
I'd probably do it after a year or two and maybe start moving in together around that time as well. But I prefer things to go pretty slow.
Also I usually withold sex for like 3-5 dates so I'm a little out of the norm for gays lol

I really am curious, I tried wrapping my head around it but got a little murky when my understanding of the difference between sex and gender proved to be inadequate. I'm aware of the concept that gender norms are mostly societal pressure, like girls shaving their legs etc. but transgender stuff has got me all twisted up.

You couldn't just click around on the internet to get HRT and you were real fucking lucky if you had access to a medical system that didn't put you through all sorts of bullshit basically trying to stop you from transitioning as hard as possible. I'm getting fucking depressed over this shit.
I'm 25 and I'm pretty sure I'm a homosexual, but there's always this doubt in my mind, what if I'm just turning myself gay because I'm never around women or that I've never slept with a woman that's even my own age.
