Yesterday, President Obama nominated Merrick Garland to the US Supreme Court. And the GOP extremists in the US Senate are blocking him from even a vote. It's time for the LGBT community to stand up to these extremists.

You have no idea how switching the US Supreme Court from a 4-4 to a 5-4 Democratic majority would be for LGBT rights:

* Maintain Obergefell v. Hodges
* Interrupt the term "sex" in the 1964 Civil Rights Act to apply to sexual orientation and gender identity.
* Overturn Hobby Lobby decision
* Block so called "religious freedom" laws
* Block any objections to adoption by LGBT voters.

This is so important why we need to elect Hillary Clinton and a Democratic senate this November. We cannot risk the right wing taking over the US Supreme Court for a generation.

/lgbt/ Do you need dysphoria to be trans?

What are some of the most effective ways to remove leg hair, arm hair, the bush... I've tried razors but I'm sick of accidentally cutting myself and having to shave multiple times a week because my hair grows so fast.

I started looking into laser hair removal because the reviews say it's more effective but it's so expensive. I haven't looked into electrolysis yet.

What are the best ways to get rid of body hair?

I felt like it was a preachy liberal moment, and I'm all for a society that's nicer to trans people, but I didn't find her very persuasive. I thought this:

If someone consents to have sex with you under a false pretense, that is rape by deception.

Many straight cis men do not want to have sex with trans women. Now, I shy away from scrutinizing people's sexual preferences. But even concedeing that it's a 'bad' preference, you'd be hard-pressed to argue that they shouldn't have the opportunity to decline on that basis.

Since we have reason to believe that a decent proportion of men will decline to have sex with an otherwise eligible woman if they know her to be trans, a trans woman should disclose her trans status before she has sex. To have sex with someone who presumably takes you for a cis woman, when there's a high probability (say, for the sake of argument, ~0.35) they would not give consent if they knew you were trans, means that there's an unacceptably high probability that a kind of rape by deception is occurring.

What do you think, trans anons? I'm guessing at least some of you agree? (Pic unrelated.)

Hi /lgbt/

As my subjects has stated, I'm currently dating an mtf transgender. We have been dating for 3 years now but I only told my family and friends about it around a year ago. Needless to say they were all shocked. I've gotten mostly negative comments. Some of my friends already left me and branded me as gay but I don't mind it. However, my parents and sibling have already disowned me. I don't live in the west and where I live this is a big deal for me. Lately I talked with them and said I love ny girlfriend and I'm willing to fight my love for her.bShe's the best girl I've ever had mainly because she cares and loves me.

Now, my family wanted a compromise. They at least want me to have a kid. A kid that is really my child and not adopted. They want me to have an heir. This is because I am my parents only hope to have grandchildren. I have an older brother but he died years ago. My older sister can't bear any children.

When I finally have a child, my parents said they will finally accept my girlfriend and I can already marry her.

I talked with my girlfriend and she says it's fine for me to have a kid and she says she would treat the child as her own Should I start looking for a willing mother now? Will this work finally?
