Androgyne here.
I'm not generally a very materialistic person. Each year I give away about half of my wardrobe to charity, and I'm not overly interested in the acquisition of things in general. I have about maybe five possessions that I would not be able to live without.
However, as I'm trying to get more in touch with my gender and presentation, I find myself increasingly interested in accessorizing, so I've taken to buying and making my own jewelry. being pretty tall , I also spent a lot of time looking for clothing that hides my more masculine frame, and ways to feminize my face such as wearing makeup and glasses.
I feel as though I'm becoming more materialistic since accessorizing is one of the few things I can do to actually modulate my appearance in the ways that I want to right now. I really feel at odds with this. Does anybody else have relatable experiences?

Hello, friends. I'm a straight cis guy, 19 years of age and I'm not gay, but I have one thing that makes me different from others and that others cannot emphasize with so I understand how that feels, even though it's much more extreme in my case and actually inherently negative.
I've come to ask some questions about this board, if that's okay.
1. If you've visited other boards, do you find that the atmosphere here is more friendly, considering you all have one pretty big common denominator?
2. What age did you discover that you were different than others, whatever that way may be, if you're transgender, gay or bisexual?
3. Can somebody properly explain to me what the difference between bisexuality and pansexuality is? There are only two main ways a person can lean to with how they look physically: like a woman or a man. So every person on earth will look more like a woman or more like a man more or less. Wouldn't all bisexuals be pansexuals then, since they're attracted to both people who look more like women and people who look more like men?

The old school definition I learned when getting into communities is that pansexual people don't consider gender a factor when dating, where as bisexual people do - even though they're attracted to both, gender is still something they consider and think about. They might like girls and boys in a different way, or like one more than the other. But I'm not sure if that definition is still valid.

Hey /lgbt/, I have a serious problem. For 9 months ive been struggling with horrible gender dysphoria, but Im still not sure if I am trans or not. Most of my life i was pretty masculine/not caring, I kinda didnt care about how I looked and suppressed a lot of my emotions. I never had any thoughts about being trans, i actually hated Transexuals. But something happened to me on October 24th, and ever since i just wanted to feel more and more like a girl. I came out to just my mom but i keep retracting it, because I'm not sure if I want to be seen that way. Im not sure if Im trans. Ive already started hrt, 2 weeks in, but right when i started most of my dysphoria went away, now I'm scared that Im not trans. Im absolutely frantic and I cant stop crying about this all. I cant decide my path and have absolutely noone who understands.
Just, I know what I said might be jumbled but I've cried like 3 times today and I need help.

Nah, it's often the case that it's a subconscious thing and only comes up at around late teens/early twenties, the same time that a lot of stresses and other mental illnesses arise. If you've had it that bad for several months, to the point of starting HRT, then it's not a phase. And often people experience an initial drop in dysphoria upon starting because you're subconsciously relieved progress is being made. What happened on Oct. 24, anything in particular?
