Sup /lgbt/, never come on here, but I was wondering if you guys actually believe Trump is going to destroy the lgbt community? Everything I've seen and read on social media is extremely scary how people honestly believe they will be killed for being fags. At first all this fear mongering was funny, but now it's just depressing. The insanity and the hysteria is really upsetting and out of control.
I guess what I want out of all of this is a way to fix the problem.

I'm not sure if this is the place for it, but I need some advice, /lgbt/. Specifically from gay dudes.
I've known I was gay since I was 12. Right now, I'm "18". Last night, I was looking at guys on my laptop when my mom came into the room and I slammed the lid shut. She became suspicious and demanded to know what I was doing. I insisted that I was just on youtube but she didn't believe me, so she and my dad began going through it despite my protests. They were arguing with each other, and then suddenly went silent and stared at the computer screen. My mom looked at me and quietly asked me if I liked boys. Figuring they had stumbled across my porn folder, I accepted that denying it was pointless, at which point I started to cry a little and came out to them. They were shocked, but supportive, reminding me that they'd always love and support me no matter what.
Today, however, they sat me down and began talking about how, while they'll always be there for me, I should wait two or three years before labelling myself, a lot of young people are confused about their sexuality, experiment, then settle down with a member of the opposite sex and so on, despite me telling them that I've never been attracted to the opposite sex. They also warned me not to come out at school because they fear for my safety (I go to a gay-friendly school in a progressive area).
What I'm asking is are they just in denial? How long will it take for them to accept it, and is any way I can help them come around to it sooner? Has anyone else ever been in a similar situation?

No need for a long story here, so I'll just come out and say it.
I recently came out to my best friend, and probably revealed more stuff than I should have to him. The conversation went as far as discussing porn habits, what we were both into etc...
The conversation reveals to me that he's SUPER into watching gay porn, and judging from how he drifted into it, it sounds like we've gone down exactly the same path.
The only difference is that he says he's straight, whereas I admit that I'm bi.
He's admitted to me that he's never been with a woman, and now that I suspect he might be gay/bi, I'm starting to feel myself becoming attracted to him.
What's the best way to find out if he's actually gay/bi?
PS. I live a long way away from him, but I'll be visiting my family near where he lives over the Christmas holidays. So I've got a window.
