Alright good people, I hope you don't mind a writer-wannabe trying to collect some data for a fascinating character inspired by well… lots of things.
I'll appreciate any answer or link to something that would give me a better understanding of this subject.
Anyway, all the questions are related to a male to female transition and my apologies if my questions are rude, it's really not my intention. (Also, English isn't my first language...)
I tried to do some research on my own and found too much questionable/contradicting stuff, so, if this questions seem weird... it's pretty much because of that. (Anecdotical stuff is welcome too)
Concerning the body:
1- Is it correct that the early the transition starts, the better the "results" are?
2- Assuming a well controlled and “perfect” transition without surgery, is it possible to achieve "indiscernible" results? (Think all the female physical characteristics outside of the reproductive organs and mammary glands)
3- Is it correct that the male reproductive organ may suffer from atrophy (or at least a severe erectile dysfunction) after a prolonged period of hormone treatment?
4- Is it correct that hormone treatment comes with serious health hazards that may lower, considerably, the life expectancy of those that are under it? If that's the case, what are the common health issues knows?
5- Is it correct that the current hormone treatments have varying degrees of success on the individual? (In some it may do wonders, in others... not so much)
6- Is it correct that some hormone therapies may have serious, (near) instant health complications on some individuals?

7- Is it possible to change the sexual orientation of an individual? To be more specific, from homosexual or straight to bisexual?
8- This one is weird as hell and I really don't want to explain it too much because it can give too much, so let's go for this: if a prepubescent individual is "transitioned" (Sorry don't have a better word), do you think it is possible to make them accept their new body? (Assume this person receives competent help to do so)
9- Another weird one, specially since I should be able to answer it, but I really don’t know how valid my own position is: How (un)desirable is for a straight man to have sex with a trasgender individual? Please asume that trasgender individual is an attractive woman.

Hi /lgbt/. I have a problem that falls within your area of expertise.
You see, I'm a cis guy and I'm in a relationship with a trans guy. When we started dating he was still living as a girl, but he has since began living as a boy. I don't mind and I still love him and feel attracted to him. I've done my best to support him by using his new name, new pronouns, etc and complimenting his changing appearance (short hair, flattened chest, etc).
But now he is seeing a therapist with the idea to eventually begin taking male hormones which will make him hairy, make his voice deeper, and make other major changes to his body. This upsets me because I know that if he does this I will probably no longer be attracted to him and it will mean the end of our relationship. I tried to remain supportive and asked him why he feels the need to change his body like that and he said that 1, he thinks it will make him feel better about his body to be more masculine, and 2, other people will see him as a man that way. I tried to explain to him that he's a beautiful man now and that if he takes the hormones he will ruin the features that make him special and that I love about him (I'm not generally attracted to men) and that I and everyone close to him already sees him as a man.
I don't understand why he wants to be manly now. When I first met him he would dress up when he went out, in a dress and makeup and nail polish, and I thought he enjoy it. I didn't bring this up to him because he will think I don't support him and want him to go back to living as a girl, but that's not the case. He is just as beautiful to me now as he was then. I support him being a guy 100%, I just don't want him to ruin his beautiful body.
How can I convince him that he is perfect the way he is and everyone close to him already respects him as a man? I get that he's insecure, but if he could just see how much everyone loves and supports him the way he is he would be happy without the hormones.

I'm an ftm(On T for about 4 years now), and also a very masc gay male.
I just had a general curiousity to put out there, just kind of want to hear opinions from cis gay men that have been with Transmen..
What exactly helps you feel comfortable with the female bits? Are you as "into it" as you would be with another man?

Im fairly interested in transmen.
I dont really mind the female parts. When i was in high school i had been with women. I'm not physically attracted to women because of the lack of masculinity, not because of thier parts. Sex with women was more like masturbation while sex with men gets me very excited. The thought of fucking a /man's/ vagina turns me on a lot.
I think men who are uncomfortable with female parts will continue to be so, while men like me who are gay because of the positive things they get from men rather than the negatives from women will be more inclined to enjoy sex with a FTM
I have only dated and had sex with one transman, but i didn't enjoy it. He was early on HRT, and his body was still quite feminine. He was very small and thin. He felt fragile to me and that was a big turn-off during sex. He also didn't like vaginal play and that was a turn-off as well. I feel uncomfortable having sex with someone who is also uncomfortable.
I'm still interested in dating transmen though. However only masc men who like to use thier vagina.
