I've told the war crime a couple times and call of duty kids think I'm lying.

We caught a kid, 17-18. He was digging to plant IEDs. This was in Helmand Province, 2010. We recently just lost a guy, I won't say his name here, Lcpl anon. So my team wanted to kill him. I wanted to turn him over to the ANF.

My SAW Gunner said he'd do it instead. I said sure, I mean fuck it who cares. Son of a bitch was planting IEDs. So I go and smoke a cigarette. After a while no gunshots. So I go over there, find out he stabbed him to death.

I asked him why? He said "I wanted him to suffer". Told him that's fucking stupid. We buried him in the desert with an Etool. They don't die the way movies show it. His eyes were wide open. To this day I feel guilty about it, but I'm not some buddy fucker who would report it either.

Are you actually correlating the use of laws in warfare to liberalization? Laws of war exist to try and keep the brutality and suffering armed conflict causes as minimal as possible. The US, along with all other civilized military bearing nations in the world, abide to some code of conduct during warfare. To say that using laws of war is faggotry is edgy and fucking stupid.

Two questions for you:

1.) Are non-uniformed non-state actors like the terrorist in your example protected by the international laws of war, or by the rules of engagement set by the United States military, or by no such compact?

2.) Were you not concerned about the potential consequences of the fact that your unit premeditated the extralegal execution of this guy? It's not that I feel any sympathy for some bomb-planting guerrilla who wants nothing more than to see me pushing up daisies, but I would fundamentally be opposed to allowing it to take place because it guarantees a jail sentence + dishonorable discharge if discovered. All that it would take for this to happen is for one of the people in the know to be a weakling who ends up getting drunk around the wrong people or who winds up seeing a therapist because he has a guilty conscience.
