Is it just me, or does buying less expensive firearms feel more appealing? I can afford higher end guns but I always treat them with care and they feel less practical, these guys feel more rugged and wouldn't feel so bad if I accidentally everything.
They make better truck guns because you don't care if they get stolen.

I'm not leaving em lying around, but I don't mind bumping them around

Then piss off? I was asking a question of utility, not for some post princess to reply.

I actually get that feeling too. Some guns are just too nice. I tend to buy used and a gun that's too nice tends to end up as a safe queen. For some reason a well-worn gun is just far more comforting.
Quantity has its own quality. That being said, been there, done that. I dont care what other people buy, its their money. But for me, im done buying cheap guns... unless its crazy cheap, in which case fuck it, whats one more.

How do you find the Sub2k?

>>35191680
just treat your expensive guns with less care. this will become easier when you earn more money because they are no longer "expensive"
>>35191935
Not a gun, but I bought a really nice Kershaw Skyline in Damascus steel and now I can't EDC it because I'm too afraid of damaging it or of the blade starting to rust in my pocket. So now I carry a $20 Buck Vantage because I'm not afraid of knocking it around a little.

>just treat your expensive car with less care, this will become easier when you earn money because it's no longer expensive
>>35192317
correct. If you are afraid to drive your car hard because its expensive, you should buy a cheaper car. Also if you live with plastic sheets on your sofa, buy a used sofa. Then you can be comfortable
>>35192317
If you buy a snap on wrench and are afraid of scratching it because its "expensive", than that tool has zero value despite you investing capital into it. Same for a firearm, unless just owning and experiencing it is worth your investment.
moral is basically quit being poor faggot

Yes and no...I think the extra cash for a 590A1 is worth it over a maverick for an HD/tactical gun.
Benelli makes the best semi auto shotguns but a mossberg 930 JM pro that's half the price will function.
I say spending more 1500 for anygun is going past the point of diminishing returns. You can justify paying double what you initially paid for your base model gun for custom gunsmith luxury mods. 1911's are a perfect examples...a base 1911 can really use a few mods per taste and better sights, checkering, bever tail extended grip safteys, skeletonized hammers and match triggers amd barrels.
$500-$600 guns for things like glocks, CZ 75's and ruger revolvers are acceptible maybe 500 extra for custom shop upgrades.
Paying 3,000 to 4,000 for super custom 1911's are stupid and just bragging pieces that you'd never want to use them if there is possibility of it getting damaged, confiscated or anything.

another way to conceptualize this
if you bought a rifle and are afraid to "damage" it in some cosmetic way, then your concern is the potential resale of that rifle. You are essentially short selling ourself on the experience of it to mentally offset the "large" investment you've made.
>you don't truly own the firezarm
If you bought it and OWN it because the amount of cash invested into it is not of great concern, than you truly own it, the metal wood and EXPERIENCE of what it can do, not just renting it.

I totally agree. My ideal collection would be just a few very cheap guns.
> break action 308 with bargain 4x
> Taurus snubbie 357
> crosman 1322
And call it a day.
Or maybe a bargain-bin AR and a pt111. Instead, I'm pushing 18 rifles and too much other stuff.I bought a seecamp last week...

whats funny is the same fags un ironically build an ar like they are getting in a shootout, 10 round is enough kid

>a fucking airgun
>>35193834
It's absolutely disgusting, isn't it. But I shoulda bought that first.I could have spent weeks out in the woods learning to shoot and munching tastey squirrels.
Instead, I just lurk here and browse imgur. A rifled air pistol would have been SO MUCH BETTER. But I'm leaving for basic tomorrow and it's too late for me now
>>35191680
I agree 100%.
I fixate less on overall price and more on value. Why pay $1k for a Colt 6951 (16" 9mm AR) when a Sub-2K gets you the same power and accuracy, and is actually more reliable? Why pay $1k for a custom 1911 that's less reliable than a $600 factory certified used W. German Sig P220? That Sig's still not cheap, but it's damned accurate and reliable as hell. There's so much Gucci AR garbage on the market these days that's functionally no better than it's vastly less expensive PSA or Anderson version.
If the Mosin price increase has taught me anything (in 2008 I passed on a crate of 20 M44s with accessories, loaded into the back of my truck for $1k, in favor of a high quality M-4 style AR, b/c Obama was gonna ban them soon), it's been to ignore the price tag at first, and take a real good look at brand, features, functions, etc, first; THEN look at the price tag in comparison. There are a lot of great deals on the market today that are either every bit as good as more expensive offerings (minus the pricey rollmark), or that are only lacking in high end features that I ultimate don't care about anyway.

Jesus, I have many gun regrets...not buying some, and selling others... But that mosin story literally made me wince. How have you not killed yourself yet??
>>35193832
The bait rises
I used to be that way with knives and watches, being scared to use/wear nice ones
You get over it and actually enjoy them eventually, not like most damage cant be fixed id desired
