Used to be in a unit that would PT up to 7 hours a day if we had nothing going on.

The plan was to do SS to gain some muscle mass (starting at skinnyfat here) and then switch over to brosplit, I've seen what happens to people when they do SS for too long and I'm the type of guy that would turn into a T-Rex since my squats and DL are heavier than my bench and OHP

I used to do combat sports when I was in shape, but now that I'm out of shape, I decided to get in shape again.

Been going to a boxing gym for a month, too fat to do Muay Thai or Judo like I used to, too easily injured due to my over-weight. So Boxing it is for now.

By 5 months I should know what to do, I got into lifting in the Muhreens but workups, deployment and general fuckery made it difficult to get the time in, got skinnyfat in the months after I got out.

Hardest part for me now is getting the diet down, I put my time in the gym but not having your diet figured out can throw a wrench into things

slickdeals always some some good deal on protein powder. My favorite is Optimum Nutrition Chocolate Coconut, contains BCAAs and all the other good shit too (except creatine). Fucking thing tastes like an almond joy and its a real treat to drink. Taste is very important, find one you like before buying in bulk. I really look forward to my post-workout protein shake every day, but only if its the good stuff. Some of that shit is really hard to choke down, and I'm not a picky eater.

I do maintain my fitness, as a former combat veteran. I don't visit /fit/ ever, and I'll tell you why.

Same muscle head jocks I had to deal with. Wants to look good at the beach. Doesn't care about endurance only drinking creatine and brags how much he can bench press.

I on the other hand run. Used to do a 3 mile in 19 flat. These days I run a 21 minute 3 mile, I'm 32, go fuck yourself I consider it good, not doing a PFT anymore .

15 pull ups, and can still do 100 crunches. So my PFT dropped a little. But they changed the scores. I get bonus points for being an old man.

I'm stronger, but I dont look a whole lot different desu. I bulked all last year and cut back down, definitely made strength gains. I should add I took a year off from lifting in 2013 because of life bullshit.
