I commissioned my local Smith to put this Rifle together and it came out better than I hoped.
A .223 bolt gun with a red dot, iron sights and the ability to use stripper clips. My body is ready
Going to use my repro cartridge belt to carry strippers
Irons are nice
5 round clips work great.
So it's a Ruger/Mossberg scout rifle with an outdated feeding system?
Good work anon, looks great. I've been trying to get a similar setup on my Howa, but there aren't any gunsmiths around me that are willing to do it

Not that you owe anyone an explanation, but I'm curious as to why you chose this set-up

MUH DICK!
It's like surplus! BUT MODERN!
There must be more of these things invented.
Perhaps someone might even make an adapter that screws into the holes meant for scope mount rings?

... That's exactly what his gunsmith did.

That's what the clip adapter is, it screws into the scope base holes. It was a custom job. The only place that sells them was a guy out in New Jersey by the name of Mo Defina.

I wanted a kind of scout rifle but I didn't want a big caliber. Red dots do most of what long eye relief Scopes do. I also like the process of shooting milsurp rifles but 7.5 Swiss and other calibers are expensive.

You can try making one yourself. I know a guy on the cast boolits forum made one from a Weaver rail. Just took his time with some hand files. Every did it on a how a
