I'll eventually get both. I have a Sig P239 and want a P226 to go along with it. But I also have a S&W 442 and want a nice S&W .357 magnum to go along with that as well.

I just can't decide what to get first because the other might be a while before I pick it up.

A P226 is the more prwctocalt weapon. If you're looking for a practical handgun for defensive or training use, buying a Model 27 over a modern autoloader would be silly.

If you're looking to make the purchase about collectibility, 'soul,' casual range fun, or class, then I can't convince you to not to get an M27.

There are fewer fun things than spending an afternoon at the range with a revolver.

That's how I'm feeling, even though I want to get the big brother to my P239, I have and usually carry a Glock 19, so a fun gun is sounding nice.

Plus it'll give me an excuse to pick up a .357 lever action.

If you want a revolver get a revolver the sigs will still be there waiting for you. Plus isn't Sig doing some new legion version of the p226? Maybe the price on the standard ( 9mm 10 or 15 Rounds, .357 SIG 10 or 12 Rounds, .40 S&W 10 or 12 Rounds) , tacops ( 9mm (20 rounds) .40S&W, .357SIG (10 or 15 rounds), or MK25 ( 10 or 15 Rounds 9mm) will drop.

OP here, it's hard because I want both. But I do want a revolver pretty bad. It's a bug that hasn't gone away and I love my 442 but want something larger and something more fun to shoot.

That said, If I get a P226 it'll be an MK25. If I went with a P229, it'd probably be the E2.

If you want a big brother and not one that is practically the same size forget about the P229.

If your heart is set on the MK25 I'd highly recommend getting the SRT trigger. But try it first as you should with anything, alot of people do enjoy it but if your one who does not you just created a big hassle of having to sell the gun & purchase another.

Def get the 27. Sadly my father had to sell,his when we fell on hard times, I'm trying to find one as well. My entire family agrees that it was the smoothest firing pistol we've ever encountered. Like someone else said "there Will always be a sig for sale"

A pre lock s&w is a little difficult to find and will hold its value pretty well compared to the sig. They'll be churning out sigs for many years so you'll have ample opportunities to procure one.

I was just going to buy new and ignore the internal lock.

My only thing is that with Hillary's nomination, it may make Sigs, glocks, and their magazines harder to come by than a wheel gun for who knows how long?
