Cartridge collecting is a passion of mine but I rarely encounter others interested in the subject outside of the IAA. I've added a number of photos and data to Wiki articles.

Here is an example of the original M.1924 7.5mm French cartridge. Since it was slightly longer than the 7.92mm Mauser which was widespread through French inventories post-WWI, the danger existed of a Mauser cartridge inadvertently being chambered and fired in a 7.5mm weapon. To prevent this, the case was shortened by 4mm to create the M.1929 7.5mm cartridge.
