ONE WEEK REMAINING!
This is a one-day shoot out in a spot we scouted out previously in Panoche Hills.
Here are the particulars:
DATE: November 7th, 2015
TIME: 7:30 AM
ADDRESS: 46378 W Panoche Rd, Firebaugh, in the Subway parking lot.
I don't expect everyone to get up at the asscrack of dawn to get there at 7, but if you're in the area or want to help set up, it'd be great.
DIRECTIONS TO THE SPOT: Drive down W Panoche Rd, past the Subway where we're meeting. Continue down until the road ends. (It turns into private property, there are buildings around.) Turn left onto Panoche Rd proper. Continue driving for approx. two minutes until you see a circular parking lot on the right side overlooking the dry riverbed and a large, flat basin. Pic will be provided.
BULLSHIT: We will be needing tables, chairs, tarps, and food. Two people are confirmed for bringing grills, so charcoal, burgers, hot dogs, and accessories would be welcome. I have a burn permit.
Tannerite, lead, and clays are okay, and although my clay launcher -still- hasn't come in, we should have somebody else arriving with one, trap shooting is still on the menu.
If anybody's scared about getting pinched, for tannerite, I'll mix it for you.
Bring tunes, targets, and trash bags.
(Somebody's also bringing a box of cigars, someone pick up eyepatches for dank memes.)
EMAIL LIST AND SLACK
To get on the email list, reply to this post with your burner. I'll add you and send you an invite to our Slack. (It's pretty much a mini-chan.) where we discuss bullshit and carpooling.
If Slack doesn't tickle your dick, don't accept the invite. I'll still be sending out the information via email.
Pic is the parking area mentioned above.
Finally you hold a /K/alifornia meetup and it's the better part of a thousand miles from me.
Oh well. I don't care. I'll just sit here and fondle my guns all by myself. I am a ROCK! I am an ISLAND!
/bursts into tears
>bitches about driving to the Valley
I'm driving from Placer County Phil, just go
Oh look, faggots with neutered funs gather to enjoy "freedom"
Who /coldandalone/ waiting for next Saturday here?
Also RIP Billy Bob and Miata Bro
>implying feds dont pay friendly visits to every /k/ meet.
Bang bang bang bang bang bang
GET ON THE GROUND CRIMANL TERRORIST EXTREMIST, THAT WAS SIX SHOTS OUT OF THAT SALT RIFLE AND I SEEN YOUR THUMB WRAP AROUND THAT NOT-A-PISTOL GRIP!!
I'll be jealous with my NFA and sour grapes.
What surprise are you bringing to this one
MY QUARTER TON SPRINGS LAUGH AT YOU.
jk bb pls no mad
>Are you guys autists?
Erm, yeah. It's a /k/ meet. Chill autists though, I like to think.
Here's a pic from earlier this year.
Where you driving out from?
Don't make fun of our pure African breeding queen body type. We wuz Kingz and queenz n shit
What's the best rifle pistol combo for Californian resident?
From my brief googling, it seems like .308 semiauto and 45. Is this right?
Having an ak or ar without regular magazines make those gun look retarded, and 10 mag 9s are unappealing.
Your best bet is an M14 and a .45
>I summon MilSurpDude into this thread
no, you cannot own ANY hi cap mag in CA unless its grandfathered, meaning nothing new... and you'll still most likely get busted, its about to become a felony statewide. This means you cannot bring it into the state, that falls under "importing" the magazine.
is 10+1, not 11+1
If you had the mags before the ban went into effect. Did you know that if you pay cash for new magazines, and they have no armory stamp it is impossible to tell when they were made or where you got them from? Not suggesting anything, of course, just sharing some knowledge.
possesion is still legal unless you live in SF, LA, or sunnyvale. Doesn't matter how you got them. And antis starting a ballot measure doesn't mean it's already illegal
Seriously, everyone just read the fucking wiki
Funniest part would be that you couldn't get arrested for taking them.
You aren't required to keep records on standard cap mags, just youd just have to say you owned them already.
Well ima be driving to panoche(not tumey) today hopefully gate is open, got me a new swarovski ive been dying to use past 300yds.
>I am going to have to carry a 30lbs steel gong down and up those fucking hills
>baka, should have skipped leg day yesterday
i'd really like too go but i can't afford a 400 mile round trip right now.
if any of you guys are down in 805 some time post in a california thread and we can go shooting in san luis obispo
There's a Barstow shoot for Calguns as well for that entire weekend.
Look up Calguns Zombie Shoot nov. 6-8.
Maybe you can ask whose going, supposed to be pretty big.
I'm in the same situation as you, but I figure I might as well head up north because its fun to meet guys from all over who get /k/ stuff.
Oh and there's no tannerite, booze, or steel core allowed at calguns shoot. Along with tons of RSOs and families, aka no unapproved fun allowed. Might be plenty of belt feds though.
Well I guess you shit outta luck then.
Save up more money so you can go to the next one though.
Who knows, there's probably gonna be another Nuggetfest West or another one of these if all goes well.
>tfw i can only shoot at a static range
>tfw i want to go to panoche hills and shoot my gun as fast as i can with people who don't care
>tfw 30 rounders aren't sold in california
why does everything have to suck
Still on the fence as to whether or not I am going. I need ammo for my AR.
Also, someone from the central coast/sc should carpool with me.
Panoche road is fucking gorgeous btw
>if we had rain
To be fair, sc and slo are pretty much the bookends of what could be considered the central coast.
>central coast is best coast
you gotta keep driving until you pass into orcutt. all of us white people live up on the hill over looking the town because we understand that their is a siege going on and we need the high ground.
Okay, >>27755385 here, I'll go, why not? My email is [email protected] if you could toss an invite.
Fellow santa cruz bro, feel free to email me also if you decide you want to go.
Oh hey what's up sc bro. This is what I have to offer plus a 4 seater car. I'm already on the email list so I'll shoot you a message.
Meant to reply to you as well.
Also, wasr now has Moe stock, ultimak rail and microdot for extra comfy plinking.
Here's what I've got, probably won't bring all of them. Also just picked up a Colt Woodsman Match Target I haven't shot yet.
Klassy Kollection you have there. Is that an m&p9c? I'm really close to buying one so I'd love to try it if you bring it. Wish I had ammo for my 30-30 I have at my dad's.
I've only used it twice so far but I love it. No problems with heat, but it does catch a fair bit of powder residue. I may not have the ultimak spaced properly, or need to move the optic forward but it is rock solid nonetheless.
>couldn't resist doing this as soon as I got my microdoot
It's an M&P Shield in .40s&w, so very similar but even smaller. It kicks pretty hard and isn't very accurate with its tiny barrel so it really isn't that fun to shoot, but I can bring it along. Is the m&pc even on the roster? I thought only the shield and .22 pistol were CA okay. Smith and Wesson really doesn't want to deal with the DoJ's bullshit.
If I leave here tomorrow, would you still remember me?
face is sorta masculine.
>face is sorta masculine
D R O P P E D
Yo dude breh R u gunna bring the banging hot drugs and shiz-i-it
That is a little annoying, but I have pic related so I don't mind so much.
So, im probably gonna be there around noon maybe a bit earlier, im for sure going.
Im bringing guns that use 308, 556, 45, 45/70 if there are any noguns or hasguns coming that want to shoot my shit. Ill have some ammo to share if anyone wants to try my stuff, but I am lacking in 308/762 and 45acp if anyone wants to shoot more than 2 rounds. I have plenty of the others (not much 45/70 but I doubt anyone would want to shoot more than one round since my rifle doesnt have a recoil pad lol).
SA M1A bush rifle 308/7.62
DD M4 556/223
Marlin 1895 45/70
Ruger NV 45acp
Colt 1911 45acp
Im only bringing these since the rest of my guns eat expensive uncommon ammo like 44 mag and 30-06. I do have a scoped rem 700 in 308 but its not zeroed, and I cant be bothered to do it before the meet. 45/70 is expensive as fuck, but im bringing it for the lulz.
Also, just got back from Panoche, gate was open, weather wasnt too bad, sunny but not hot as fuck.
FYI bring some anti bug shit if you are annoyed by flys. There were quite a few that instant spawned as soon as I stepped out of my truck.
Just funning with you bro, I actually have a henry with octagon barrel and in 44mag.
I actually just got a marlin 1895 CBA 45/70, has a 18.5 inch octagon barrel.
Got it literally the morning after I discovered that finally a lever gun with a octagon barrel that wasnt a henry or didnt have a 20+ inch barrel existed. Its so fucking nice, also I can confirm that the CBA rifles have waaay better QC than the rest of the remlins.
yeah bro, my Henry was my first experience with a lever gun and the first time I went shooting with it I went, oh, I need more lever guns. Definitely planning on buying one in a hunting caliber.
I have an AR with no sights (bought a TRS 25 and returned it since it wasn't bright enough for me) and waiting for black friday to see if there are any good deals.
Anyone have back up sights or optics I can borrow? I have a featureless with a SD3G and would like to magdump. Sunnyvale r&g allows rapid fire, but once I started to do more than double taps they go WHOA SLOW DOWN. Most I got out of it was just 5 rounds before they shut me down
Bit unrelated and a derail but, anyone going to the calguns shoot instead?
It sounds like there are effectively two options and for some of us, panoche is just too far.
I seen at least one or two other /k/omrades mention they were attending as well, but it might be hard to meet up in a big normie event.
No guns anon here. I just bought about like about 450 rounds of assorted ammo.
Is anyone okay with american eagle or pmc brass stuff, because some of it was on sale.
Also there's .223 and .308 rifles there right?
he has a point most people would prefer the chance to shoot a gun they didn't own and check it out in exchange for letting you shoot their guns then you bringing ammo to shoot their guns but either is fine.
you should look into RIA 1911s, ruger 10/22s, mosin nagants, mossberg or remington shotguns. get something cheap but decent first. or do what i did and build a 2.5k AR-15 that you will never get to use to its full potential in california. e
Yeah I was thinking about it but I ran the numbers and I can't get one in time for the shoot thanks to the 10 day waiting period. I am looking though.
Also I think it sounds like I spent a lot in ammo, but I only spent like 200 bucks which really isn't the most. What can I say, I got bills to pay and things to save for before I can splurge on funs. Because being responsible sucks.
M'kay done face saving my no guns asses in excuses.
What part of CA are you from? I have a few days for sale
a pretty cool place desu senpai
its a dirt road after you drive past the gas and food area, but its very smooth and not too much gravel. My buddy has driven his lowered scion box car further down the road past our shooting area where the road gets much worse and didnt have an issue.
If you google "the valley" it brings up san fernando valley lol
Have you never heard of valley girls or valley speak?
I actually just googled valley speak and there is an actual wikipedia page
Says its origin is san fernando too.
Hey, this is only two hours away. I think I can make that. I'll bring the AK, Draco, and some handguns for folks to try out.
I'll have to buy some targets and such. I'm assuming we wont have frames so I'll have to find something to use for that. I'll bring a cooler with drinks and such.
This'll be a good month, a /k/ meetup then a Frontsight trip two weeks later. Most excellent.
I'm bringing an M14, my FUBAR AR (needs to be sighted), Marlin 60, Mossberg 500, USP 45, Ruger P95
If people bring extra ammo the M14 can have more trigger time, otherwise I'm rationing ammunition to 5 rounds per person.
Also I'm bringing a fuckheap of 12ga
South OC guy, who is close to the actual area? I might want to go up the night before because of the distance I'd be coming, would be neat to not be there alone overnight.
Also, is anyone planning to stay overnight after? Is camping on site ok? What will the weather in the area be like, because I've been to Paso Robles before, it gets fucking cold there at night.
If people can find 7.5 swiss or .303 I can bring a K31 or jungle carbine. My personal stock on both are very low right now, and I am kicking myself for not buying more cheap 303 when there were available.
no, and I am kicking myself for not buying the blemished lot for like 25 cpr.
The only ammo I have enough of that I can bring and waste are 22lr and my own 9mm handloads (and I am bringing enough 12ga target loads for the amount of clays I have). Although I don't know if I want other people shooting my reloads for liability reasons. I have fucked up and had squibs before (twice in a few thousand rounds).
I'm not sure how many guns I should actually bring. I do want to take 2 handguns and my shotgun at the very least.
Anybody bakersfield here? I'd go but I have too much to get done tomorrow.
If they still have them I can't find them. The last I've seen were the blemished ones on clips about a month or two ago.
I was buying .223 so no money to spare for .303. A dumb decision, but I just built an AR and wanted to shoot a lot, while I hardly shoot my jungle carbine and have considered selling it a few times.
And I do have a few boxes of soft point for both, but it just feels like a waste to plink with.
Do it and buy and SMLE and like 200 rounds and like 10 clips, also if you have ammo, even if it is soft points you should bring it. I mean fun is fun right?
BB pls come
The more gats the beetur
I really don't want to buy anymore guns and have them registered. I feel dirtied knowing that 3 of my guns are registered, one of them being an M1 carbine I just had to buy, but the shit registration law went into effect already. Maybe I'll get some handguns, but I'll either build my long guns, or just wait until I move. (although I'll probably break down again like with the M1 carbine)
I'm going to go count my loose ammo, since I don't keep an inventory on those. Maybe i'll bring a garand if I have garand safe 30-06. As I recall though, I only have AP ammo that I won't shoot that stuff due to cost and that it's corrosive.
I do have x39 though. Not going to bring my SKS, but I might bring a box or three just in case someone else brings something that shoots it.
>too many fucking guns
I actually sort of want to bring something people aren't bringing, just for variety sake rather than every bring a ton of guns but all the same.
I seriously doubt anyone has a 22 nugget, but I doubt anyone would really want to shoot it either. Maybe I won't bring my AR since so many people are brining theirs and if no one brings an SKS, i'll bring my beat to shit one.
Well, I'll bring it then. I do have an assload of ammo for it and I hope everyone else brings more as well. 22lr isn't that hard to find now, and everyone in the south bay should grab cheap (but shit) remshit 22lr from the new bass pro.
And turns out my 303 soft point box is already half shot. I'll bring the remaining 10 rounds I guess, even if I end up not taking the jungle carbine.
Like I said I am bringing a can of 303 so if you want to bring it, then bring it. But I am fucking really debating on bringing my M1, I dont know if I wanna shoot all the Ought Six I have.
We'll see I can only fit so many guns into my cases. And I understand no wanting to shoot up ammo reserve. Before being able to find more 22, I stopped shooting my 10/22 (should I bring?) and buckmark. I'm also reluctant to open any more nugget spam cans (I do have a few hundered loose left I think) or shoot all of my training ammo.
So what kind of nugget are you bringing? Maybe I'll bring some other nugget as well (aside from the 22 and what you're brining). Maybe a PU or M39 (although M39 is sighted for like 300 yards)
Well, like I said, I'd rather variety. So I guess PU or M44 or M38 (I think brandon is bringing one of the carbines). Or if no one is bringing one, a plain old 91/30 (although I think both of my 91/30s are in cosmo still).
10/22, well eh, the more the better for new shooters who are coming I guess. It's a takedown too, so not like it takes up much space.
It was sunny and not too hot when I was there yesterday. If your wanting to camp out, the area we are shooting at is a huge open space, so you could set up a tent if thats what you were thinking of doing. If your gonna sleep in your car, you can probably just park your car at the rest stop 20 min away or where the gas stations and food places are at the highway entrance.
look at pic at top of thread with pick up truck, thats the spot. Its the only spot on the right side of the road that is sort of like a plateau. To get to it, drive down the road, you will pass the tumney hills BLM gate on the left with a vinyard or farm on the right side. Keep going down the road for a few minutes and you should see it. Its literally the only spot along the road big enough to fit multiple cars.
I was thinking of bringing my winchester 94 chambered in .307 just to clear it of cobwebs and show you guys what the fuck .307 is.
I wish I still had my LAR grizzly in 45winmag, but I had to sell it because up until recently finding casings or ammo for it was impossible. Damn thing was a flame thrower.
man looking at all these people bringing an arsenal and its just gonna be me and my lowly kar98. speaking of not having enough guns anyone coming that would be willing to sell a shotgun, preferably some sort of pump?
So im gonna bring a couple of steel pistol targets if anyone wants to aim small and shoot small lmao.
Also gonna bring muh dolly to use as a zero target stand, since I and probably some others might need to zero their shit. Ill bring a sand bag and sleeping mat if anyone wants to shoot prone since im not sure about the table situation and I dont think I can shoot from the bed of my truck at this particular spot since its an elevated plateau type deal.
BTW guys i suck at ALL optics, and require assistance zeroing my aimpoint, because i am literally shit at zeroing any and all optics (iron sight is best sight). Hopefully one of you anons can help me out and give me some tips. And in return ill let you shoot my 307 ; )
I think we ran some at the last meet. GF and I are planning to stay at the hotel after the meet so I can stick around a bit.
>Is this BLM land?
Yes, Panoche Hills BLM land.
>Is anyone bringing steel rifle targets?
Two different folks bringing some, from what I understand.
See you there, hopefully this sudden rain doesn't get the roads too wet up there.
well shit, how many streloks wanna finger blast the dynamic duo?
got some extra sight posts on hand, tall n short if needed
into night or nah?
We should do a high desert overnighter some time, have done it with this guy >>27772811 and a couple of other of the s/o/cal group out at the dry lakes north of Edwards.
I know who you are lol
Good news, those gas blocks are secured with set screws, so no hammering required. However, will still need a bench vise and receiver block to put it together.
Yes, I only own 2 handguns. I focused on c&r rifles becuase they could be shipped without the bullshit up until last year.
I've only gone through DROS 3 times. I guess I do have another rifle that is unofficially registered, becuase we all know that CA DOJ retains the DROS info (as evident by the scare letters LA county sends out)
I stopped caring about registration after i realized, all gun stores keep records of sale, and there is a record of every background check for every store sale.
I stopped buying used guns in this state since most sellers believe NIB is 1000 rounds or less and they should charge an extra 200 over msrp since they broke the gun in for me.
I spent 800$ for a otherwise pristine model 12 that was DIY level converted to a trench gun (finish on the receiver justified the high price, im talking original bluing without a scratch and internals looked factory new, plus takedown parts where in tact). Problem is I didnt realize how bubba'd the heatshield was until I tried to take it off (and i cant do that because the previous owner epoxied or loctited it to the barrel), also it was canted and the mag tube was loose and not propperly placed.
One of these days im going to find replacement parts and remove the shield and keep it as a riot gun. If the damn thing wasnt stuck on the barrel i wouldnt have been too frustrated since i can rust blue shit well, but total cost for replacement parts and labor is exceeding 500$, which i would rather spend on ammo.
Sorry guys /blog.
So I can either work on Saturday and make a bunch of money, or come to the meet and spend money on gas and ammo. Wat do?
Im actually thinking of staying the night before, and night after. And then in morning head over to socal to crash that calguns meetup.
This is literally what I spend all my money on
>crashing that socal shoot
The driving is real. That's another 4 hours driving and supposed to be like a healthy shooting population there.
Any anons who can't make this should just meet at the Barstow Calguns zombie shoot instead, maybe you could meet some and let em know how the /k/ali shoot was.
I guess ill bring the model 12 then. FYI it only eats 00 buck and slugs (12GA), pretty much anything with high brass. It will jam on every birdshot or low brass shells. You guys can shoot it, ill probably bring 1 box of 00 buck for it and thats it.
Im bringing >>27759923 and my winchester 94 in .307.
Should I bring anything else? I could bring my rem 700 BDL in 30-06, or a rossi 92 in 44mag, or a ruger mk2, or a FN/winchester 70 in 30-06, or a rem 700 SPS I have in an XLR chassis in 308, or thats bout it. I can bring only maybe 1 or 2 of those listed since I dont have enough cases.
we'll see how many cases I have, but ill bring the rossi for sure since its a beater and idgaf if it gets tossed around in car. Ill bring the 700 since its 308, and I wouldnt have to bring another caliber of bullet with me.
