SWAT3 was awesome and had the most realistic simulated bullet penetration into materials ever made in a video game, up to this day. SWAT4 was a piece of shit with ridiculous unreal engine penetration. The graphics were awful, particularly the weapons and characters, the animations were shit. There was some cool stuff like the tazer, pepper spray and the vip mode in multiplayer but that's it. Everything else in SWAT4 is garbage.
>SWAT4 at LAN
>one guy has tried it before
>two full teams entering from either end
>i take piont and breach
>see three baddies
>team immediately slams a stun grenade into the back of my skull
>can't do shit
>me and next guy get rekt
>rest of team pours in shooting at everything that moves
>hostages and baddies alike
>second team pours in
>radio goes nuts "get these idiots out they're killing each other" or some shit
>remnants of blue team pull out
>two of them gets shot by a woman hiding on the can with a shotgun
>last guy shoots her
I actually really liked Medal of Honor: Warfighter.
It was a piece of shit for a game. But it was a realistic game. Sadly there's a reason realism and games doesnt mix well.
The game also didnt add much to the fps genre like BF3 did before it. It had kill streaks, which was kinda lame, but I liked the idea of being a tier 1 operator, using their guns. The recoil, design and attachments felt real, but I can see why many people didnt like it.
You were forced to use attachmets, you had to use sights most people arent familiar with(most people are used to red dot, eotech, etc.), etc.
More like jogging simulator...
>tfw used to run 16 miles Saturday mornings then come home and run another 16 in arma
>get killed immediately after hitting contact
I run in real life
>get arma 3
>play arma 3
>whoa, lotta running in this game
>nice gfx too
>look at that country side!
>slowly but surely I end up using Arma as means to simulate running after my real life fun runs
>have two monitors
>find a piece of road
>bring along a Titan AT
>take cover in nearby bush
>browse facebook or play another game whatever until something explodes
>take some potshots loot everything and gtfo
>tfw allah ackbar
You are the worst kind of subhuman.
Damnit annon what made you lose your mind and consider Wasteland?
Muh nigga. Especially that mod that made your gun full auto.
Hmm, okay. That kinda sucks. That's when you open the editor and spend youe life taking extremly overambitios screenshots. Like me.
Once we decided to download a mod with that carrier and we change our names to Goose and Maverick so we could do some CAS and air-to-air fighting in the nearby coast
>with this on backgroung
Seriously? No Raven Shield mentioned yet?
Easily one of the most /k/ related games. That and SH3/4 like this >>25287896
STALKER: SoC and CoP
Playing through CoP at the moment with Misery installed
Hard as hell bit it's fun as fuck
I love all the ammo available
Tfw rolling around the zone with a FAL painted with Rhodie came. Getting cheeki breeki with 7.62x51 depleted uranium rounds
Realistic - no, but god damn these are the most fun flight games I've ever played.
Is anyone else annoyed with how weapons work in GTA 5?
>good enough attention to detail and realistic weapon models
>good TD, no nonsense when reloading
>shotguns are treated like a real, viable weapon class
>AK is shit-tier, weak babby bullets, should've just used an SMG
>not that you'd want to, because the SMGs are useless
>AR is an ok mix
>Tavor is god-tier
>G36/FX-05 is GOAT, but with lower accuracy so not really actually
>same for the QBZ
>chest shots mean next to nothing if it isn't a shotgun
>maybe three of the pistols are actually worth it
>Uzi is so shit that it's a worse drive-by weapon than the auto pistol
I understand the need for balance and a sense of progression, but I'm disappointed with how it turned out in that regard.
>tfw never met anyone who played America's Army SF
>game is dead, only able to play through workarounds
I played that and it didn't feel anything like old AA. I enjoyed sitting through those classes, doing the SF training missions, unlocking the marksman weapons and all that shit.
>tfw that will never happen ever again.
Daily reminder that Belka did nothing wrong.
We have a /k/ group on steam called /k/arabiner. I'd suggest joining us. We play Red Orchestra 2 friday nights, and Insurgency saturdays.
Check out the page for details on the teamspeak.
>only got into pc gaming about 2-3 months ago
>normally just play insurgency or red orchestra 2
>finally get ARMA 3 during sale last week
>struggle to learn the basics
>play a bit of campaign
>decide to try some multiplayer
>everyone saying/doing complex shit I can't even comprehend
>die within 10 seconds every time we hit contact
THIS RIGHT HERE
Monster Girl Quest is my favorite game of all time, hands down.
you have no idea how much I cried during the second game when I came to the bad ending.
The story is really moving.
I started playing the game when the very first game came out. I was super excited for it since I had read the Mosntergirl encyclopedia, which the game was based off of.
I was surprised at how popular it got, after the second game, I couldn't understand how so many people could be drawn in on the premise, inconsistent art style, and just overall weirdness of the game. The whole game was a niche. I remember years ago starting monster girl threads on /jp/, and it was always just a very small number of anons, the same anons, in the threads. A single thread could last two weeks it was so slow.
I really think what popularized the whole genera was Monster Musume no Iru Nichijou. Since it was just an ecchi manga, and not a full on, kill or get raped game, it introduced a lot more people/normies into the group.
While having more people to talk to about monster girls was great and all, I fear that it's becoming too popular. With Monster Musume no Iru Nichijou getting an anime this summer, I fear secondaries might ruin the Monster Girl niche, and in all honesty, I am not looking forward to this influx of new 'fans'.
I don't want to go to cons seeing people trying to cosplay monster girls
I don't want to hear nornalfags endlessly argue over who is best 'waifu'
fucking casuals who don't even know the orgins of the games..
Some of us, like myself, have been in the nice for over a decade, remembering playing games like Lightning Warrior Raidy etc.
I would hate to see a genre I have loved so much get overrun by normalfags and weaboo fucking trash.
in all honesty, I started the game for the hentai but I sure as hell did not finish it for anything other than the story.
The games were a masterpiece in my opinion
Is /k/ hyped of Killing Floor 2?
Metal Gear Solid 2 on higher difficulties has some of the most ruthless guards in a stealth game.
Your stupid anime girly ass WILL be hunted down.
I used to play THE SHIT out of MW:LL
Haven't played it all that much since a bit after they stopped developing it. :(
It was so much fun and had such a great mix and if given more time could have become really well polished.
That. Duncan. Fischer.
>Haven't played it all that much since a bit after they stopped developing it. :(
The MWO devs sent them a C&D letter, so they had to. Can't let any competition survive, not if they want their shitpile of a game to live.
I don't know anything about the drama, just the vague outline of why development stopped.
And it was such a fucking shame, because I loved playing in a battlesuit and pestering all those big-ass mechs.
It's a great game, but the userbase has dwindled as far as I can tell. I checked in on it a week or two ago and not even 5 people were playing.
Before the shutdown you had 40 or more playing at anytime.
It wouldn't be so bad if there was the possibility of another battletech game worth playing coming out, but that's not going to happen.
Shit, I'd take another mechassault game.
How does /k/ feel about Star Citizen?
Also, I should add that I really don't agree with the idea that you have to pay to be part of the alpha/beta, and when it finally comes around, it gets doled out in pieces.
And really, I feel as though they are concentrating too hard on making the alpha/beta release look pretty, rather than getting it working then making it look nice once everything works like it's supposed to.
i've been following the game since the start, and i think the biggest issue is that the backers are sort of enabling the star citizen devs to keep putting things out for sale for insane prices, like the destroyers they sold for 5 grand, all of which sold out.
It's different. They're both good. I really didn't think I was going to like hardline. I really don't think it should have been under the battlefield name, but it's it's a fun game. Don't compare the two because they are very different.
I don't feel like I'm playing BF4, I feel like I'm playing a completely different game made by the same people. It's worth playing imho. Like I said, I didn't think I was going to like it.
And of course, you can't actually criticize the devs, because the moment you do, all the fanboys that paid five hundred dollars for a ship they can't use yet crawl out of the woodwork and yell "IT'S ONLY AN ALPHA. GAME DEVELOPMENT TAKES TIME"
I agree, I don't exactly want to get roflstomped by rich fucks in my comparatively pleb Hornet.
That said, I feel like if people want to throw their money at a project, thousands at a time, they should go right ahead.
its also funny when fanboys try to defend this shit
I love BF4 for everything that it is, its fantastic, however with hardline I'm open for the change. I picked it up a few days ago and really like it so far. The gun selection is awesome, but there should be a few more in my opinion.
I left MWO for a half-year because the in-game economy went to shit. After IGP fucked off though, I feel like it's gotten much better. I'm actually enjoying it now. The frequent tournaments and prizes are great.
Just finished Hotline Miami 1&2 but... is it /k/ related ?
It has patriots, russians and weapon-induced gore but does it suffice...
No... They've stated that everything available for pledge will also be attainable for in-game currency, so I'd pick a more affordable ship first.
>That said, we don't know how the in-game economy is going to look, they could fuck that up terribly.
>operating with my RO993, removing donut
>cop pulls around corner with cruiser
>get in, hear this start playing on the radio
>see cop crossing the street
>the time is now
>GRAB YA FUCKIN' CHAIN AND DRAG YA THROUGH THE BIKING LANE
>scratch one donut
That game is the shit.
As someone who sadly played 17 whole days of gtav in the first three months, yes. Very.
>fixed fire rates on pistols
>"damage" and stats that trivialize 80% of guns like the pkp, smg's and every handgun that isn't the ap pistol
>every gun is a full auto babby spraygun with vaportrails while in gta4 you actually had to burst fire or crouch
>lazy devs couldn't make the sounds of guns shooting fast enough to sound good so they lowered the rof on everything
>that half assed customization
>that dissapointing piece of shit that is the saiga 12
and the worst offender of them all
>the worst aim acceleration in any game ever
at least killing people with the pump shotgun in mp was somewhat satisfying
Nigga are you stupid? Realistic weapons and reloading, beautiful island setting. Hunting exotic animals, toppling criminal organizations, fucking the local chicks. Damn it is perfection.
They name the fuckers semi-decently. I agree with you the automatic aiming is inaccurate as fuck but most of the damage/weapons systems seems decent. I agree though some of those zerg fuckers take too many bullets
I think Receiver (made by Wolfire games) is one of the most realistic shooters $5 can buy; the weapon handling is done very smooth (once you get the hang of the controls), and there are no magical first aid kits or regenerating health; you're either hit or you're not. If you're hit you die, roll credits. It's a simple game, but it makes the most of what it's given.
If you're willing to handle one of the steepest learning curves I've ever seen in a game, DCS World is definitely worth a try.
the graphics were so-so, crysis 1 did a much better job of making a good looking tropical setting. i cant remember any of the guns being particularly fun or satisfying to use either. animals in farcry 3 were bulletproof killing machines put in the game for the sole purpose of having 'zany' shit happen like a single cassowary killing an entire outpost of bandits.
Receiver's main problem is that its movement mechanics are silly and clunky.
The actual shooting and reloading stuff is interesting, but it doesn't make up for the fact that simply moving around the level is about as fun as having your jaw removed.
There is also, of course, no actual game beneath its shooting mechanics. You just wander around and blast two kinds of infuriating enemy types, one of which doesn't even move. Bleh.
I know its not an FPS or using infantry weapons, but I figure it's related, what's /k/'s opinion on the Il-2 series of games?
I loved Il-2 1946, Cliffs of Dover was a let down (that cost me ten quid) and I haven't looked at the new one yet.
As a game? Not as good, no.
As a /k/ piece? Nothing's changed, no
Unless the Expansion (which STILL costs full game price) with the yanks and another german force MASSIVELY improves matters it's almost certainly not worth playing if your initial impression was unfavourable.
First one is still superior, especially with glorious Panzer Elite and Britbong Crawling Fortress expansion.
Also, this thread has pushed me back to Stalker. Curse you all.
>He dosen't fly people to their destinations
Play it for the incredible handsome and ingenious Detective Manny Pardo.
Hey for those looking to play a fresh version of COH check out blitzkrieg mod. It's still being updated. A new update just landed March 22nd.

I had such high hopes for COH 2. this is what it should have been!
Not all IL-2's are real IL-2, the name brand was sold to a couple of different companies off shoot games were made.
IL-2: 1946, and CloD were both made by Oleg Maddox and 1C Maddox Games, CloD was abandoned by Oleg halfway through.
There's IL-2: BoP on the consoles, dont mess with that, it's not really an IL-2 game, was developed by Gaijin entertainment for a quick money grab, they're the ones who make War Thunder now.
Then there's IL-2: Battle of Stalingrad. This also is not really an IL-2 game, and was developed by 777 studios who now own the rights to the name 'IL-2'. It's not very good, and is a strangely over priced and oddly marketed sim, that's not even that realistic.
Though they did also make Rise of Flight, which is worth checking out, you can download it for free.
>Men of war superior in every way.
>game requires you to individually order your soldiers to pick up their dropped helmets in real time
>every magazine and piece of kit must be manually reloaded in real time
>hundreds of men on-screen at a time
I prefer playing war games, not micromanagement simulators. you may feel differently.
1946 has a great mod scene and a surprising amount of players online. You need to download a client to see the servers. Though admittedly there are a decent amount of veteran fliers that kicked my ass and might make it hard for new players. Still fun though.
I can't decide if I want this game or not. I loved RainbowSix but I heard doorkickers has a ton of bullshit you have to unlock until you actually have options for making good plans.
With respect to the second part of your statement I'm just going to say no matter what CIG does, they will be criticized. And the road they have chosen is to put quality before time. So they rather have a few people complain about them taking time with the alphas and betas vs. a lot of people complain how a 77+million dollar game is releasing super bugged alphas. And if you think about it, the more work put into making the game stable now will help speed up development later.
I'm a backer since Oct. 2012. So if there any more questions I will be more than happy to help.
SOME FOLKS ARE BORN, MADE TO WAVE THE FLAG, OOO, THEIR RED WHITE AND BLUE
>Rainbow six patriots was originally supposed to be about you, an elite operator seeing the error of his ways and joining up with the "patriots"
>Now its a no knock warrant simulator
Oh... what could have been. Of course the jews and other bankrollers would never fund a game like that, but still. It really bothers me that there are literally battlefied games where you are murdering people waving the Gadsen flag, Tea Party members, because you are a mexican, your partner is an asian woman, and they are EVIL RACISTS
I thought RAGE was pretty great
fuck you call of duty, this is what WWII was really like.
noone has mentioned Op Flashpoint: Dragon Rising?
I am ashamed of /k/
>No results pertaining to MGO
I truly feel bad for the generation that didnt get to experience the greatest mulitplayer communities that will ever exist
>That giant PS2 ethernet adapter for playstation online that would melt your carpet
any medieval /k/ love for warband?
>which no one ever talks about ever.
Because everyone is so young. Omg man, I remember having my mind blown away at being able to tell a computer what to do. And that multiplayer. Well worth the chores I had to do to get that modem.
I just hate that they put in a bunch of special snowflake guns for the cod kiddies. It's a crime game, the guns should be mostly pistols, with SKS's and AK's (wood furniture) and maybe some sub guns.
That being said, suppressed mini uzi is my favorite weapon in the game and I use it whenever possible
Chivalry Medieval Warfare.
The Long Dark is kind of neat too. It's a great innawoods sim.
I almost never got found.
One time i sniped the super puma pilot while he was trying to maneuver low enough to drop off about a dozen guys on a hill. Thing dumped into the side exploded and rolled down the hill flinging out bodies while everyone on the other side of the hall was giving the pilot shit for killing them all. He was all "hurr durr i got sniped" nobody believed him.
Game was fucking boss
Receiver, by Wolfire Games. 5 bucks on steam, often on sale for 2, and it's based around complex gun mechanics. You load your magazine, you chamber your round, etc.
definitely one of my favorites
Fun as fuck, got it free with my r9 280x, the game looks incredible and is one of the coolest space flight sims
So here we go:
BEST MODERN WAR RTS:
Wargame: AirLand Battle
Wargame: Red Dragon
BEST MODERN WAR FPS:
BEST HISTORIC TPS:
World of Warships (in beta)
BEST AIR SIM:
BEST NAVAL / COMMAND SIM:
BEST TANK SIM:
BEST MODERN WAR TPS:
I strongly question the taste of anyone who thinks that Monster Girl Quest is some kind of great achievement of Japanese sex game. It's awful art, almost no voice acting, and almost entirely ugly as hell monster girls (plants, fish, insects, etc, with boobs) trying to blow-job you into submission. How exactly you respond to a sword slash with a blow-job attempt is not explained, you just have to accept it.
Ok, so it isn't GOAT. But I've yet to see any cops-and-robbers FPS that-
>is as fun as this
>isn't a 15-year-old PC-exclusive that requires an independent server and an emulator to run
>I would hate to see a genre I have loved so much get overrun by normalfags and weaboo fucking trash.
Jojo fan here.
Get used to it.
The Alpha let you have all the good shit from the getgo.
I played the shit out of the Alpha and did other things while they updated the shit out of it.
They make you go through several missions with just Pointmen (who can only have sidearms) before giving you access to the Assaulter class (who can have ARs and SMGs).
This has the effect of making the game way more difficult in the early levels, especially if you want to progress without losing any officers like I do.
Give me a few minutes and I'll have a link so you can try it out.
>it was a realistic game
what the fuck are you talking about?
Link to the .exe (pls don't swarm my dropbox and get it blacklisted): https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/28423474/DoorKickers_Setup1421095191.exe
And the MD5 of the .exe if you don't trust anonymous internet people as your source of vidya: dd6763e14162a1a2
It's too early in the morning for feels, comrade...
