Why hasn't caseless ammo been investigated more? I feel like as far as firearms go, that should be the next breakthrough. Something that not only works, but isn't stupidly expensive.

There's various problems with caseless that, compared to current cased ammunition, just isn't worth the cost to fix. If brass and steel become too expensive for some reason, or there's some breakthrough in caseless propellant, then caseless may be adopted by everybody. Until then, it's good old brass and steel cases.

You know, i've been thinking about this picture and i conclude there is nothing wrong with it.
At first i thought they are horribly wrong. Using the entire cartridge and all.
Besides, things like pic related can outrun pretty much every conventional bullet.

But then it hit me.
That's clearly a railgun.
This is just a big metal bullet.

Try to outrun something that goes at mach 8.
So yeah, they are right. It's alright to ban railguns because nobody needs that much power™
