Is there any point to getting a 5.56 SBR if I already own a pinned 14.5" AR? I was about to get an 11.5" SR-15 but a 9.5" SR-30 in .300 Blackout would be better overall

With the summer coming, (meaning lots of youth crime) I am worried about home defense for myself.
If it came to me being forced to be a roof korean (I live in a bad area) would a 22lr work?
Would it at least get them away from my building. I would have a shotgun for close range just in case but would 22lr work for medium range roof korean level defense.
It may not kill anyone but it may at least get them away right?

If you have a shotgun available, just throw slugs in the shotgun and you can get yourself as much effective range as the 22.

Noguns here, I'm looking for a rifle that:
>can be had for less than 700 dollars with all the bells and whistles (minus the price of a suppressor which may go down if legislation passes)
>can shoot accurately at long range for hunting deer but also be ergonomically viable enough to double as a shtf home defense weapon
>ammo is cheap
>has a threaded barrel for a suppressor
What gun would be sufficient for this? Hunting rifles are too big to tote around my house and I don't think an AR15 that is to my spec is within my budget.
