He only got 1(one) center of mass hit, on the congressman's hip. He's had like 3 surgeries, multiple blood transfusions, and is still in critical condition. Had he not received immediate attention from the best medical professionals in the country, he'd probably be dead.

This demonstrates (for the millionth time) that shot placement is king, and that most centerfire rifles are plenty powerful.

Sole cushioning, sole construction, padding, type of leather. Modern boots also have membranes sometimes.

I really much prefer old school boots for cleaning, durability and looks, but I'm not sacrificing my knees for that. The irony is that it's perfectly possible to make a welted sole with cushioning layer, just not very common.

Pocket carry a small 380 like an LCP.
Do not ankle carry! When you sit down your pant legs will rise up, and the gun will be exposed.
With a proper holster (like the kydex hickock approved Alabama pocket holsters), it will just look like you have a phone/ wallet in your pocket.

Not to mention, drawing from a pocket is a lot less conspicuous than getting on one knee and drawing from the ankle
