The Gerard R Ford class has a bunch of improvements over the Nimitz, such as EMALS and the improved flow of munitions.
What are some of the lesser-known differences? For example, some /k/ommando told me the rectangular section in the rear has something to do with plane maintenance, but I can't find a source on that. The Nimitz class is missing that entire section.

I'm really into roller lock delayed weapons, but I don't like having too many calibers, and .308 is pretty expensive compared to 5.56. I also don't have a range near me that goes far enough for .308 to be really necessary either. What's your choice /k/?

Also, can any Illinois fags clear up the knife laws? It states you can carry a blade over three inches so long as you don't have the intent to harm anyone (I don't, it's for self defense since I'm not 18 yet and I can't get a gun), but I'm worried some cop will give me shit for it and try to charge me with something.

Well considering its a 10inch blade and you're still a minor I wouldn't recommend carrying this.
Just get a folder. Its easier to conceal (just put it in your fucking pocket). The purpose of a knife is to be felt not seen and believe me if you pull this shit out your attacker(s) will see it and beat you retarded and easily disarm you.

I am wanting to build a home defense ar (((pistol))) and am deciding on length.
I wont go any lower then 10.5 to avoid running into reliability issues.
I would really like to mimic what the defender of the faith has.
What length is he running?
seems like most foreign non ar 5.56 are around 12.5+

I think that's a 10.5". The handguard is probably a 9", it's definitely not a 12".

I've used all mannor of odd rifles to clear my home. Bu the oddest gun I concealed carried was a Belgium copy of a British bulldog I restored and a 12mm pin fire I stil open carry inawoods

Look into the SCR. Its a traditional rifle stocked AR that has its own special BCG and will work with pretty much any AR 15 upper

What would sailors and pirates do with their flintlocks after they fired them? Would they try to reload? Would they just drop them? Did they use bayonets or cutlasses?

Marines in the fighting tops would reload (or probably have someone reload for them).
Boarders didnt take muskets. They took the standard issue sea patern pistol. Not good at any range above 5 yards. They would stick it in the other guys guts, chest, or face. Pull the trigger and drop it. Pull their cutlass. Most boarders had pikes with no pistol anyways.
