I use 10mm, if I were to go bigger I'd go .44 or .500, but you would also lose a shitload of capacity. I'd skip Any other Auto calibers and .375 mag which will typically have lower energy then well loaded 10. Either way if you meet a bear you're probably dead though, just make sure you're using some Underwood/Buffalo Bore or you're really good at handloading.
