I couldn't get through the first chapter. The dude might be one of America's top soldiers, but he writes like an edgy, barely literate teenager.
"Inside Delta Force" is a better book for this kind of genre. I like older historical books. I found "1453" to be a really readable and badass book about the fall of Constantinople.
If you want some shit to just laugh at, read the "Going Home" series of books. It's clearly written by an author who fetishizes the military without knowing a thing about it. The main character is basically a self insert who teams up with Special Forces to fight FEMA New World Order takeover after an EMP. I'd never pay for these books though, just check them out or read them at a store.
Non-fiction/non-narrative, read instructionals by Kyle Lamb.
http://www.contactairlandandsea.com/2017/09/12/thales-aims-new-rifle-at-nato/
>Thales says the F90MBR is one of the lightest assault rifles on the market at just 3.25kg, and is fitted with ambidextrous controls to enable fast reaction times and rapid target engagement.
>Features include availability in multiple barrel lengths, fully-ambidextrous forward bolt and magazine release controls, and a ‘drop free’ magazine release function to facilitate even faster magazine changes, regardless of the hand-dominance of the firer.
>F90MBR safely accommodates off-handed shooting techniques through the use of a case deflector, and can be easily modified by the operator without tools to a dedicated left- or right-handed ejecting weapon.
>The weapon’s open architecture incorporates a NATO tri-rail system and magazine compatibility to ensure interoperability with existing NATO weapons.
>'Over-the-beach’ capability means it is well suited for use by amphibious forces. Soldiers can swim with the weapon, and fire immediately after emerging from the water.
>“Both the F90 and F90MBR enable the soldier to reach up to 600m accurately and with ease.

What does /k/ think about White people reenacting battles as Imperial Japanese soldiers?
Honestly if I were to get into reenacting a screaming Jap would be my no.1 wanted role but I'm White, so I can feel their plight.
It's still kinda cringy though desu.

Automatic Child Perforation according to the anti-gun crowd.
Reality says "Automatic Colt Pistol"
Midnight guilty posts thread for all my east coasters.
Just impulse bought an 11.5" complete upper from PSA for $300, and a stripped lower to boot. I'm gonna salvage my current AR for a makeshift LPK but I cannot afford that PDW Sig brace yet which sucks because now I'll have a useless """""pistol""""" for a while.
I have absolutely no money to spend and I was planning on purchasing a basic reloading kit and carry pistol (two things I actually need) in the near future, but this thing was too tempting. Fuck me.
Who else? Did I do the right thing, that is buying a complete upper for $300? I intend on ditching my 16" AR altogether for the """""SBR""""" route. 11.5" gets alright FPS anyways, not as good as 16" but not sub-fragmentation levels of bad.

This is it, I fell for the "deal ends tomorrow" meme. It looks pretty aesthetic with that flash can but I might swap out the handguard when I'm not broke.

i like the way it looks. tell us how it shoots when it's all built lad. I'm still on the fence about PSA uppers

is this the most embarrassing military failure in history?
Vietnam was worse
>Americans get their asses soundly handed to them by illiterate rice farmers that are outnumbered 10,000 to 1
>Still try to play it off as an American victory
>>35150272
Hey you get out of here with that. Vietnam was a major victory for the us because the sovietnam dictatorship that was importing zyclonb into the brains of our children via kang8 gang was destroyed during the official blackout of the kanium battle.
>>35150272
I've heard vets and some armchair generals call it a "stalemate" but I've yet to meet someone who can make the mental gymnastics that vietnam was an American victory.
IMO, Vietnam and the Soviet defeat in Afghanistan are both equally embarrassing. Maybe a bit more embarrassing for the Soviets, but it's pretty close.
Alright /k/, what modern weapon can kill this thing

tactical shotgun
literally nothing else makes sense if the question is (((home defense))) focused
I just heard the story of how my family got this gun. Not sure how accurate all the details are as this is coming from my pops recounting what he heard from my Grandpa a couple decades ago.
>My Grandpa served in the European Theatre of WW2 in the United States Army
>Helped liberate Paris and shit
>After the Allies reached Berlin (and the Red Army had already pretty much taken the city) they rounded up all the Germans guns that were surrendered in big piles and told the Troops they could take what they want
>My grandpa took this Over/Under Shotgun/Rifle and a Triple Barrel Shotgun/Rifle both with beautiful German Craftsmanship
>My uncle was given the Triple Barrel and my pops was given the over-under
Don't know too much else about the gun, it has 1903 engraved under the barrel along with some proofing marks, "Krupp Stahl", "CHR Strum", an "FN" in silver on the back, and the Gauge of the shotgun (16/1).
Is there anything special about this gun from what you guys can see?
I just really like the engravings and the overall feel of it :)
Any similar stories you guys have heard or pictures of similar guns?
Little blurry otherside

What's your favorite ancient weapon, /k/?
Mine is the Kanabō.
It was designed to be an anti-armor weapon, obviously, but it had a plethora of other uses as well. Warriors often used it to break horse's legs as they ran past to dismount their opponent.
Picture related, several types of kanabō.
>>35148943
I have a preference for early poleaxes (hammer and axe only, dane axe-like.). I know late ones are better, but I find them aesthetic.
>>35148943
We all know the real reason you like the kanabo, OP.

Who else is bidding what?
Gee, Bill. Why does your mum let you have 16 AShMs?
>>35148836
It's just an extra 10 meters. I feel like you could fit all this stuff on a normal Freedom if you wanted.
>>35148862
Probably won't actually carry that many in practice, but having that capability should shut up the people who think that the LCS needs more firepower.
Is carrying any firearm other than a Glock 19 for EDC basically just autism or attention seeking?
>>35148834
I'm not sure but the way the rounded off the front of the gen5s but left the dust cover square really triggers my autism.
>>35148861
Right? Fucking hell.
>>35148834
Carrying a Glock 19 and then bragging to everyone about it is attention seeking.
