Toughts on CZ 512 .22MAG?

I wish to get it because it is one of the few affordable semi automatic .22mag rifles. I like the wood but i am bothered by alluminium and polymer parts.

Would such rifle be durable enough to be passed down to your children 20 years later or should i seek out a metal/wood semi auto .22mag?

How the whole rifle looks. I wanted to point out the polymer part in previous picture.

5 round semi auto but i believe there are larger 10 or 15 round magazines for it

I believe it's the only rifle in production avaliable besides the cmr30. It would be a better gun than the cmr30.
Even better would be the ruger 10/22 magnum, but they're commanding a high price these days.

What does /k/ think of the ARAK? Is it worth the price tag or just a novelty before its something practical? How fast is the swap from 7.62x39 to 5.56x45 or vice versa? Also if you have ARAK post your pics.

Side note: Why doesn't the military feild something like this? It keeps the already popular 5.56 and even gives the option of 7.62 if needed.

OP here, also would like to state the ARAK fires a wide range of other calibers including 6.8, 6.5, 300BLK and 5.45 all within a barrel and bolt swap.

Not sure what a complete bundle of bolts+barrels would cost from Faxon to be able to shoot all these cartridges but obviously it wouldn't be cheap

As reported by The Drive, crews from the United States are invited to participate in the "Tank Biathlon". The invitation was made by the Russian team - the winner of the previous competitions.

The publication also contains the text of the invitation-call: "Unfortunately, tank crews from the EU and the US avoid participation in such tournaments." It's time to meet with you guys, instead of directing weapons at each other, let's compete in training grounds. We will wait for you. "

The publication notes that this is not the first invitation. Officially, the Russian Federation invited participants from the United States to the "Tank Biathlon" as early as 2013. Now, after the deterioration of relations between countries, participation in competitions of American tankmen or their allies, with the exception of Turkey, is unlikely.

How about a thread for military surplus stuff that's not the normal guns or clothes? The military has and does let go of all kinds of planes, ships, trucks, and other stuff that ends up in civilian hands (some of it is even reasonably affordable). So let's celebrate the bigger side of milsurp!

Some old milsurp planes are even still flying for a living, like the C-46s, C-117s, and C-116s that are still flying fuel and other stuff around up in Alaska.

Why not get the pistol with brace? You under 21?
>>
>>34214532
I prefer the folding stock - you can put one on the pistol and SBR it, but then I'd have to wait for form 1 and deal with 922r.

This is easier - I can cut the barrel later and suppress it, but still enjoy the stock now.

What does "cycle the action" mean?

Specifically, in another thread, a /k/ommando addressing the question of whether or not firing a semi-auto gun too quickly can damage the gun, said the following
>Certain shooters may be able to actually "outrun" a trigger but the end result is a dead trigger. Cycling the action will reset and you are good to go again.

If that happens, what has to be done is just rack the slide/charging handle once? Or does something more have to be done?
And what exactly happens? Like does the round get chambered but not quite right, or does a round not get chambered at all after a shot if the trigger is pulled again too quickly, or what?

Yes I know this is a stupid question, yes I am a nogunz newfag

The action of a gun is whatever mechanism ejects a spent casing and primes the gun to fire. In pistols, the slide moves back when fired, cocking the hammer and ejecting the spent casing. As it moves forward again, it strips a round off the top of the magazine and forces it into the chamber. You can also pull the slide back manually, normally to load the gun, but also to clear a malfunction or jam.

TL;DR it's pulling the moving bit at the top of a pistol.
>>
>>34212885
This is the second time I've seen this same exact thread with the same exact OP pic
>>
Yes, that's exactly what it means. Now stop being nogunz by the end of the summer (enough time to save up and buy) or stop lurking here.

Without using any technical terms -- primarily because I don't know many -- the "action" is the system involving the feeding and firing sequence. In this case, the hammer strikes the primer, the bullet is fired, the gas causes the slide to reverse and eject the case, and the next round is loaded into the chamber, due to the spring around the barrel, which causes the slide to move forward. So, if you "outran" the trigger, the firing pin would have been struck prior to a round being reloaded into the chamber. In which case, the best option is to pull the slide back, or "cock it", and attempt to fire again.
