Ok in a few months I'm going to be coming into some money (~$7500) and I'm looking at picking up a weapon.
Now this will be a first firearm for be being British and now living in the USA. I have had the opportunity to both shoot in the UK and the USA so I'm not completely green. But what should I get.
I liked the L85 and the way it handled and I have been looking at the AUG because the MADE seems to never want to come out.
But what would you guys suggest? I'm looking at a pistol and a rifle.

Well, for one, L85s aren't available to the civilian public here in the States.
The AUG is nice, but the Tavor is also considerable if you're dead set on a bullpup.
If this is your first gun though, I'd recommend an entry level AR or AK as it's more expendable if you don't end up liking it, put a lot of wear into it or fuck it up somehow. Better than dumping ~$1800 on an AUG that you may or may not like in the long run. There's more to learn about owning and operating firearms than a few past range trips will teach you.
Also don't fall for the .22 meme. First gun owners get them all the time, but I feel like it's a waste of time because you're not actually learning anything about recoil.
As far as pistols go, if it's just something for general learning, I'd go with a full size Glock 17/19 or Beretta 92fs. If you're considering concealed carry, there are some good compact options from Glock, Springfield, or Smith & Wesson.
tl;dr It's inadvisable to go gucci on your first kick-around gun, but if that's what's in your head, the AUG isn't a bad rifle.
I need help identifying this gun. Help me "K"...you are my only hope.

Why is it that the further I get into my first AR build, the more I desire one of these?
What does /k/ think of them, and should I get one?

They're shit.
Buuuuut I think they look neat.

I liked mine. I sold it and bought an AR, which I like more, but I liked mine.

I'm currently in the pistol market and I've gone to the range multiple times to try out certain handguns. I've shot H&K, S&W, FN, Glock, Sig Sauer, Colt, etc. but the XDM-9 has performed exceptionally well compared to the rest, the safety is great, the handling is great. So why is it that a pistol from fucking Croatia performs better than a lot of pistols that have been around for a while.

Not really a horror story but my dad shot his self in the foot and lost a toe when my sister dropped her gun and he tried to grab it
>>34290433
If this had actually happened, I would've stopped the kid myself instead of going to find the RSO. Every range I've ever been to puts safety above fun so if you see someone doing stupid shit or about to do stupid shit, you should call ceasefire and then call the RSO over.
Also, most ranges have a strict set of rules for shooting disciplines such as no rapid fire (my range enforces a 2 second count between shots), no dual wielding, rules for cross draw holsters, etc. Having two handguns uncased on the table at once would get him kicked out.

What is a good price to pay for a WASR? I see once that costs $470, but it does have some mild surface rust on the barrel and sights. Is also a 10/63 btw.

Cz P10C vs. PPQ vs. Glock 19 vs. Sig P320 vs. FNS 9
which ones better out of box and why?
also post edc.
>>34284422
USP9 and USP9c are both better than all of those.
At least no one brought up beretta... I was going to vomit yesterday.
The PPQ has a better trigger than the others, but no real high capacity magazine options and the stock sights suck. That said, the sights on the PPQ can be changed more easily than any handgun sights out there. You just need a couple screwdrivers and any average Joe can install night sights on a PPQ. My nitpick about the PPQ, and the reason I sold mine, is that the slide profile is kind of trapezoidal, which makes it feel like you're not getting a good grip on it when you go to rack the slide. The VP9 is the opposite of this, in this regard - you CAN'T NOT get a good grip on the VP9 slide. Other than that, Walther polymer pistols tend not to be popular with LE departments and it concerns me why not. If you do get a Walther, shop around online. Walther has a $!00 rebate going this summer, so you can get a PPQ for $400 otd, an amazing deal for a great gun.
CZ P10c is a big unknown for a lot of people. FNS9 is a big caution symbol for me because of the *squishysquishy* meme and they just look cheap.
Glocks are good guns. As a beginner, you'll appreciate magazine cost and availability, and these guns tend to be reliable. It's also very hard to make one rust. I've gone on backpacking trips through the rain with my Glock 20 where the gun didn't properly dry out for days, and the only rust I found was on the tiny trigger safety pin on the trigger. The triggers are the opposite of luxurious, but you won't find yourself fighting the trigger while shooting them, at least. It's like a staple gun. Anyone can use a Glock pretty well.
The P320 has a decent trigger, almost as good as the PPQ, but you will have to evaluate the rest of the gun yourself. I don't really like the balance in hand, which isn't a deal-killer - the P239 balances horribly, but happens to shoot like a dream. The problem is that the P320 seems to jump around while shooting a little too much. The frame has almost no weight. A positive is that Sig has finally released high capacity magazines for this model
