Are SKS impossible to find anymore? I've been to two gun stores (Jew York) , one of them told me he outright refuses to sell them because some stupid bullcrap he told me where he can't "trust me to not modify it to have a removable mag" or some shit. Then the other guy I go too who isnt an idiot said he gets them rarely but they pretty much get sold the next day.
I just want a semiautomatic slav gun that is factory and isn't a cucked AK with no pistol grip and ruined to shit to be safe compliment.

Been working on my first mosin. Got rid of all cosmoline, and used an oven to sweat out the wood cosmoline. However, when putting it back together, the barrel band was a bitch to get down. The stock also seemed to bend away from the barrel toward the front. Once I got the two hand guards together I have a huge gap on one side (pic related) did I fuck it up?

Question about 80 ar's.
I have one built and I want to use it as a truck gun. I haven't yet as I've been hearing that using it in such capacity or even in a self defense instant can get you into a lot of legal trouble.
So, from my understanding, I would need to put a serial number on it. I'm perfectly fine with this, but I have no idea how to go about it. Do I take it to a local gunsmith? Is there a way to do it myself? Do I have to.submit anything to state or fed(Indiana, btw)?

Just bought a 10/22 and I'm probably gonna shoot her on Saturday.
I already have a Marlin XT-22 and a colt .22lr target pistol. I had a Marlin model 60 but Its all rusted to shit so I'll probably get a new one at some point. So anyway, .22lr appreciation thread.
