Why is the Sig 55X family unobtainium in the United States?

we aren't allowed to have the best assault rifles (aka modern ak based designs) in the us bc they would be way too dangerous. we are only allowed to build shitty plastic ars or old ak designs from the 70s
Even Yuropeans can get them, stay mad
Want me to buy one and move to the US? I'll sell it when I arrive
Hello /k/, /o/ here. Building my first AR-15 and I bought a palmetto state armory complete upper assembly on sale for 250 bucks and a complete buffer assembly. Problem is is that I wasn't aware that there were different gas systems for 16 inch barrel guns, and I ended up with a carbine length gas system which is apparently worse than the mid length gas system for a gun with a 16 inch barrel, and I don't know if my 3 ounce "carbine" buffer would be ideal anymore. Probably just going to keep the upper as the price was definitely right but I don't know if I need a different buffer now. Would an H2 buffer be better?

>I ended up with a carbine length gas system which is apparently worse than the mid length gas system for a gun with a 16 inch barrel
This is negligible. Sure, a midlength shoots a bit smoother than a carbine length but again, this is negligible. The military has been using carbine length for decades and it works very well. I own a 16 inch midlength but I would have no qualms of having being issued a 16 inch carbine gun like a 6920.
I would worry more about the actual quality of your build components and how everything is put together.

>I would worry more about the actual quality of your build components and how everything is put together.
Not really worried about that. Reviews are good for the upper assembly and it's only going to be used a few times a year for plinking.

I am not very knowledgable about guns, but people are saying that this is an unsafe way for an FBI sniper to hold an assult rifle with EOTech scope, is this true? Would an FBI sniper ever hold a weapon like this?
>>34309750
It's exactly how someone whose never shot a rifle in his life would carry one, yes. Also take this conspiracy bullshit to /pol/, sage.
>>34309773
Not even pushing a conspiracy here, just asking a question! Thanks anon.

I know you're new here but damn son, that's a real fuckin big batch of CNN Propaganda
Does /k/ have more than one firearm for concealed carry? I've heard lots of times that you should be careful about switching between different handguns for concealed carry because it affects your muscle memory and ability to respond if you're using a different weapon than what you train with, but what if you practice extensively with both?
Been carrying an FNS9 compact for a little over a year now but sometimes I find it a little bulky for certain tasks. Been thinking about getting a single stack .380 for when I go for runs.
Is it worth it to get a smaller "special occasion" gun? I don't want to switch to carrying a different gun completely because I love my FNS, but feel like there's some situations where she's a little less than perfect.
Been looking at a Glock 42 or maybe a PPK. Also been curious about the Taurus Curve if anybody has some input on that.
>>34309703
90% the time I carry a Glock 26 Appendix.
the rest of the time it's usually a TCP 380 (motorcycle or whatever when I just don't feel like wearing the 26). It's fine but especially lately I've been making sure to just carry the 26 because of night sights, 9mm, handling, and capacity.
Most people here don't practice enough to gain any sort of meaningful proficiency or consistency in a specific gun to warrant such a concern.
Now, there is a downside to having various controls across a large battery of guns such as having a DA/SA fullsize like an M9, an M&P9c with a manual thumb safety for a smaller option and a Walther PPS Gen 1 with a paddle magazine release as your go-to conceal carry guns.
It would be optimal to stick to one platform but I think you'll be fine with having a Glock 42 as a smaller gun as you carry an FNS9. They're both striker fired handguns with your FNS9 (I presume yours is) being a gun without a manual safety. It would also be a plus if you could get a similar sight setup on both of them like Trijicon HDs

This has to be a joke, right?

do they not understand perspective
holy shit americans are retarded
>anon posts a large c'ollection' of his pistols
>they have no visible wear marks on them
>no holsters are seen pictured
>they still have the stock sights on them or the fancy smancy """"upraded"""" night sights
It's okay. Be honest, you don't actually shoot your pistols do you, anon?
The sights comment is retarded, not all pistols are glocks. Last i checked you don't need a holster for a range gun and frankly just shooting a firearms won't really lead to very much finish wear. Of course that depends on the gun your firing.
Shit thread OP, shit thread
Only one I've yet to fire out of the seven I own. That's the CZ P-07 I picked up about 2 weeks ago. Just about all of my other pistols are pretty well worn and run like butter because I've had all of them for years. Been too busy to go fire the new CZ as of late. But I'm intending to do that this week since I've just been put on call at my night job. Built up a pretty good stash of 9x19 in the time I've not been firing the new CZ or my 92FS
>>34309288
Which do you prefer cz75 or beretta? I personally find the ergonomics, trigger, m9 two dot sights and the overall aesthetic of the beretta better, but that's just me
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Protocol_on_Blinding_Laser_Weapons
I don't understand why these things were banned, they're not weapons of mass destruction since they're fairly accurate in hitting a specific target only. Having this weapon banned and preventing any advancements involving it leaves even the strongest militaries at a potential tactical disadvantage.

its no fun for a country to supply some million blind veterans after war. every country pay less when they get kiled. so they banned.

b) american
c) both

Hello again /k/ LeMartin here.
Thanks for the stock and receiver dimensions. I have begun printing parts to see if they will fit around the m1a I have access too, and today was my first success. After vigorously recreating the stock in inventor, I have completed the most difficult part of the stock, the trigger/receiver area.
Its taken this long to find someone with a 3D printer who I can sorta trust. Would printed sooner but the printers I want are all 300+
I have tested it, and it fits near perfectly. Only two parts don't fit quite the way I like (The trigger guard thingy needs a special groove on the stock, one I didn't put in) and the magazine catch is too thin as the dimensions on the schematics weren't that clear for it.
However with that said, my rifle will be happening. I hope to have a working prototype for the m1a sometimes before Christmas.
I will keep you all appraised until then.

What does /k/ think of modular boats?
This is a Project 22385 Gremsomething Frigate, one of only 2.
It's main role is Anti-sub, its sonar is mounted infront but as the picture states, it can be dismounted at will. Not built into the ship itself. It carries 16 anti air missiles (ship has shit radars like 22381) and 8 multipurpose VLS for Caliber.
Is fielding small ships that can be upgraded down the road good? Or useless?
>>34308701
Interesting concept
Also 20385 not 22385.
Cancelled because muh German engines n shit. Only 2 ships since the engines were delivered.
