Is it bad I want one of these pieces of shit?
I'd also want to make a high quality version of one if I were a machinist.

Under Jennings Firearms, J-22:
>WARNING: These pistols may create an EXTREMELY DANGEROUS CONDITION and a POTENTIAL FOR SERIOUS INJURY by firing when dropped.
>This model pistol trigger/disconnector bar and sear level may have too small a gap between them such that a sharp movement of the slide rearward could cause the weapon to discharge without the trigger being pulled.
The discharge is created by the moving slide impacting the disconnector and driving the trigger bar/disconnector rearward into the cam lever before it can pivot downward and out of alignment.

I have one. Was my moms when she went to college in like the 70's.
It is the most terrifying gun I own. It will fucking shoot if you drop it, was recalled entirely like 20 years ago, I don't even like holding it. Its prone to jamming with some ammo types. Also is a fucking 6rd 22lr with like a inch barrel, too inaccurate to hit anything not within like ten feet.
Its only purpose on earth is magdump murder for when the john you picked up at 3am for some half-and-half +anal decides to get violent in the back of his car

Why does our military's infantry only use semi-auto fire, and never burst/full-auto with their standard issue rifles?
Through ultra realistic simulation games like Project Reality, and personal experience at the range, I feel like leaving the rifle at full-auto is good for any target under 150meters, because then I can have the choice between firing off one shot, a short burst, or a long burst, whereas leaving it on semi would limit me to one shot only.
If enemy were to suddenly pop up and surprise me, I'd want my gun to be on auto. Same if I'm clearing out rooms.
>>34318742
More accurate fire and not as much of a waste of ammo. Full auto doesn't have much of a use for infantryman with an m4
>>34318742
Semi auto is so that your grunt FNGs can actually hit someone
Full auto is a waste of ammo and worst case scenario friendly fire fuck up
What is this I'm hearing about $199 pistols?

Lower prices due to little fear of gun control.

What is the best reticle, and why is it the ACSS BDC?
No, really. Looking for a new optic for my AR and I have astigmatism like a motherfucker so I'm not looking for red dots. Is this my best bet?

New Resident Evil CG movie.
So I'm going to get my first handgun in about a month and I've narrowed it down between a CZ P-01 9mm or a Sig P229 in .40 s&w
I won't be able to handle them for a while to determine ergonomics, but I wanted people's thoughts on stuff like which one is more accurate, controllable when rapid firing, durable/reliable, has better spare parts availability, customer service, etc.
>>34318221
Niggers
Aesthetically I'm leaning towards the P229 atm.
I also reload 10mm already, so it's not much trouble to use the same bullets for .40 S&W.
The SA pull with a SRT kit looks really nice.
The CZ is definitely cheaper, as is 9mm, I've also heard people say its got better ergo and a nicer DA pull because it decocks to half-cock, plus it definitely has a lower bore axis.
The most important factor is the ergonomics, and most of your inquiries revolve around how the gun feels in your hands.
Both are good firearms though. I'll always lean CZ over Sig though, because it feels better in my hands and is easier for me to adjust my shots. It's also difficult to compare the two because of the differing calibers.
Has anyone on /k/ ever thought to volunteer in conflicts that may or may not involve their own governments?
I know there are many cases today of people going to fight ISIS. How do you keep from being prosecuted for your actions over in conflict areas?
It seemed in the past that it was a thing that men did. Famous examples included: George Orwell fighting in the Spanish Civil War. Hemingway volunteered for the red cross in WWI. People formed their own regiments to fight in the Spanish-American War like Teddy Roosevelt's Rough Riders.
Was planning on joining the IDF as a chayal boded, but then they had a war with Lebanon, and the agency responsible said "we're at war, fuck off"
>>34318206
Shit, I'd sign up with the IDF in a heartbeat if they took gentiles and could guarantee me a position in an armored unit. Crewing a Merkava sounds comfy.

I wish I could have fought in the Emu War.
>mfw own a remington 17 made in 1915
>102 year old 20 gauge work of art

>live around darkies
>purposefully buy lead shot because any intruder will have lead poisoning until the day they die if they survive which is unlikely since this shotgun is 4+1 semi auto
Don't give it a nice stock. Get a stock and age it, you might have to send it off to have it done. Google how to artificially age wood. The poor finish of the metal with an aged looking stock would make for a good looking piece.
I read that Ithaca 37 stocks are a direct replacement. You might be able to find an old beat up m37 stock that would look good on it.

Why so many guns?
Are they compensating for something?
>inb4 *height*
>>34318017
They don't have the budget for a carrier defense fleet, so they allocated space on the carrier for defense.
>>34318017
Yep they are compensating for a rusting away naval force
The Kuznetzov is technicaly speaking an aviation cruiser and is able to operate indendently and thus, why it has so many defensive weapons.

What did /k/ buy recently?
I will start: I bought this Chink SKS on Saturday for 200 dollarinos at a yard sale of all places

Nothing spectacular, but I just received a CMMG .22lr conversion kit for my AR.
does the collision with the philip tanker prove the USN is more poo level than we thought?

I don't know. The results of the investigation haven't come out yet.

Not sinking the other ship when it was apparent it wasn't going to change course is just proof all the homos need to be run out....
What's your nightstand gun? I keep a 9mm PPQ next to my bed, but I'll be starting a new job soon and will have money to update my arsenal, so I want to look at different options.
Also, in your opinion what makes a good nightstand gun?
>>34317903
M&P15 rifle leaning up against the nightstand for me. I do not have a handgun.
>>34317911
Nice.
I like in an apartment in a city that bans salt rifles, so unfortunately that's not an option for me.
>>34317903
I have a Remington 870 Police Mag loaded next to my bed, leaned up against the nightstand.

hello /k/, i need a knife and a gun. what would you recommend?
A scimitar and a Desert Eagle.
>>34317899
Any wonder nine from a reputable manufacturer. Seriously, it's fucking amazing how many good ones are being made now.
As for a knife, one that's easy to keep sharp and has a bright handle so you don't lose the damn thing in the grass.
>>34317899
a knife with a gun, or alternatively, a gun with a knife
Almost showed my power level today talking with a coworker:
>Talking about a recent purchase
>anon pipes up and says he's almost finished with his "build"
>genuinely curious as to what he's got
>tells me he's got a custom built AR, turns out it's a spikes and psa frakengun that he somehow payed $600 for
>shows me a 40 dollar red dot, mounted at the end of his rail at the 9 o'clock position
>only iron sights on top
>I ask anon if he's gonna put anything on top
>"I just bought a super powerful scope"
>for $80
>calls charging handle "the cocker"

Cringe stuff?
> walking into SXSW Maker or some such event

> just had wisdom teeth surgery 2 days prior
> my dad's trying to make sure that I don't point the guns at people and that I carry them safely.
> he thinks I'm too out of it thanks to the painkillers

> one immediately puts his finger on the trigger and starts sweeping everyone with it

> people are panicking
> I tell him to point it down or up, never at people and he almost drops it
> mfw I have to swipe one of my LEGO guns out of my brother's hand because he was doing all the things my dad thought I might do
I have more, not just LEGO. That was the first thing that came to mind. Also, just to note, the LEGO gun I handed to my brother was a full-sized, proper color, proper shape MA5B replica. It looked like the actual rifle from Halo - you'd have to be within about 10 feet to see clearly that it was LEGO. I fooled several gun owners - and competent ones, at that - with it on multiple occasions.

Anyone else fascinated by the weapons used during the 17th century? Muskets, pikes, swords, shields, armored horsemen with firearms, etc.
>>34317054
Yes it's quite interesting.
>tfw you will never stage a successful rebellion with pikes
if you're ever in NYC the metropolitan museum of art has a huge exhibit of pike and shot era firearms and armor
"De Wapenhandelinghe van Roers, Musketten ende Spiesen" by Jacob de Gheyn. Interesting manual on weapons of the time. Kinda amusing that alot of it is "don't get your match-wick where it shouldn't and blow up" as well as "don't muzzle-sweep your buddy in the rank in front of you. Excellent illustrations.
