Honesty the gulf and texas would just bro up and dominate the south east and west. New Orleans is a huge port that brings in huge profit. Even if we are just talking about internal affaires, the port still allows for fishing ans transport. Off the coast of the Gulf states there are still large amounts of oil. As sad as it seems, the fuds in this area would be pretty well prepared. I lived in New Orleans for about 2 years after moving from Texas.
If the great lakes are able to overcome the crime problem they could be pretty powerful too, again though are we talking only inside fhe us or what, because they are much more isolated than the gulf.

A34 Comet is better in my opinion. Moderately weak armour aside, combining high mobility of the Cromwell and the strong firepower of the 77mm that's comparable to 17pdr means its pretty comparable to even the Pershing. Since I don't know much about it's combat history I'm just going to assume it's more reliable than Tigers and Panthers.
Just my opinion though.
