What does /k/ think of the beretta 90 two? Also uncommon modern guns thread
>>34423223
A buddy of mine has one. Haven't shot it yet but I fingerfucked it and it seemed to be solid with good build quality. I really really wasn't a fan of the grip compared to the normal 92fs though. So I'd just prefer a regular 92fs.
No one ever talks about these but they are cheap and fan-fucking-tastic shooters.
>>34423223
I love mine. Space Beretta without going full PX4. Shoots well.
Is the Taurus PT111 Gen2 a good gun? I'm looking for a first handgun, and I know Taurus is generally ass but I hear good things about this one. I was hesitant but it it seems to be everything I want (compact, decent capacity, aesthetic, manual safety), but it's a Taurus.
>taurus
No. The only decent semi-auto Taurus is the PT92, and that's only because they literally manufacture it using existing Baretta processes.

Can you recommend anything else in a similar price range?
>>34423051
>Can you recommend anything else in a similar price range?
Ruger LCP seems to be rather popular, and it's $250 at the current moment. But I'm not anywhere close to an expert on the subject.
But you're really not going to get anything quality at a $200 price point. For an instrument that can mean the difference between life and death, you really shouldn't skimp on reliability.
Why do old people hate "black rifles" so much?
>>34422611
because they are fuds

>>34422611
back in ye olde 80s and 90s there was a whole bunch of bullshit propaganda about evil black salt weapons.
many old people, bless their hearts, never got over this, and are now too set in their ways.

Do you believe large amphibious ships that beach themselves will be completely phased out ? Is the future of Amphib ops all about LHAs and LHDs ?

Goddamn, African nations are adorable, as if the countries are being run by 3 year olds. I can't believe people don't just keep killing each other constantly over there, oh wait they do
Is there a reason the British didn't design a semi-automatic infantry rifle before or during WWII when the US, Germany, and USSR had done so?
>>34421658
No need to. UK was a naval power and didn't foresee too much combat on the mainland.
>>34421682
Is that all? That seems like very weak reasoning in my uneducated opinion
>>34421658
Developing and rolling out a new rifle to frontline units is a massive pain in the ass and they figured it'd be easier to just keep shitting out SMLE's for the time being.
Working towards buying an SAA but those things are relics, what's a simple, affordable six shooter to scratch the itch in the meantime?
why not just get a replica OP? it's safer, presumably more reliable, and a whole lot cheaper
>>34419810
Buy a base model Pietta for like $350 and then save up for a real one.
>>34419810
I just got a fourty year old Ruger single six for 300, haven't shot it yet.
new one because the old one was reaching the limit
Does Trijicon stamp bibleshit on pistol night sights or just ACOGs?
I was visiting my Grandpa for the first time in a long time recently. He lives in California but loves guns, and was showing me his gun collection. He made a joke about how mags over 10 rounds were illegal but that he knew where he could get some, since he lived in "California with a k"
He clearly had larger mags in the guns but is the California with a k a reference to something? Is that what California /k/ommmandos call their state? Could my Grandpa in fact, be a frequenter of this board?
How much is a used 12(?) round .40 Beretta 96 mag worth? I found one and I could always use a couple of extra bucks.
>tfw you live in a shall issue state
>tfw you will never own a sbr
>tfw thats all you want
>tfw youll be maybe the first state to enact the hearing act for silencers but not sbrs
Are Airborne Forces still useful?
Will we ever again see a non-SF combat jump where you're putting whole battalions behind enemy lines?
>>34418473
pretty sure it happened in Iraq in 2003 with paratroopers being dropped in northern iraq. i could be wrong though.
>>34418473
Africa sees heavy use of Airbone forces. If we ever had a reason to go there, they would be more relevant than the mechanized units.
>>34418489
On 26 March 2003, 954 soldiers of the 173d Airborne Brigade conducted a combat jump from C-17 aircraft onto Bashur Airfield in Northern Iraq[81] under the command of Colonel Mayville.[82] The jump took a total of 58 seconds, though 32 paratroopers were unable to jump because they would have landed too far from the rest of the force.[81] The force had been strung out over a 10,000-yard drop zone, and it took 15 hours before it was completely assembled.[83] In the weeks before there had been heavy rain and the mud created problems for those doing the jump.[84] The paratroopers secured the airfield, allowing the C-17s to land and bring in the heavy armor and the 1–63d Armor contingents.[73] They jumped from aircraft of the 62d Airlift Wing and the 728th Airlift Squadron along with the 786th Security Forces Squadron.[85] Over the next 96 hours, the wing landed in the remaining 1,200 soldiers of the brigade as well as their vehicles.[85] By 29 March the entire brigade was in Iraq and ready to conduct offensive operations.[85]
I thought MMA shills said that fights always end up on the ground. Doubt this guy has trained wrestling a day in his life and dominated that guy with quick instinctive hooks.

probably because he was out of it at that point already.

This. It went from awesome to ech when I expanded and saw Zergmansam.
Just stolen from a Portugal Army depot:
>264 units of C4 explosives
>Over 150 offensive grenades
>Tear gas grenades
>Grenade launchers with grenades
>41 Anti Tank Launchers (LAW)
Here's the translated article.
http://archive.is/U0IF9
How many major bridges can 132 kilos of C4 take down? This is a catastrophe.
I wonder if the inside-job Army guard was of 'asian' descent?
>>34425670
>Military grade C-4 is commonly packaged as the M112 demolition block. The demolition charge M112 is a rectangular block of Composition C-4 approximately 2 inches by 1.5 inches and 11 inches long, weighing 1.25 lb (0.57 kg).[11][12] The M112 is wrapped in a sometimes olive color Mylar-film container with a pressure-sensitive adhesive tape on one surface.[13][14]
>1.25 lb per unit
>1.25*264=330
330lb of c-4 explosives (approx 150 kilos)
Lets discuss the French military?
Is it true they're the most powerful military in Europe? They seem to be operating pretty hard in Africa right now. They're also a nuclear power.
>>34425536
What are they doing in Africa right now?
>>34425589
>ignorant faggot who is afraid people will notice he knows nothing about military current events
>>34425576
The West-African regions France is operating in are all former french colonies. For the most part they're making sure the crazies, mostly islamic radicals, don't take complete control of the region.
