It's fudlore. They're made to punch holes in paper. No expansion and very light loads.
If you took a full wadcutter and loaded it hot, then you might have a somewhat decent penetrator round, but why not just use Underwood or Lehigh stuff at that point.

It allows you to sell the exact same gun to people when you remove the grooves everyone hates.
I got the chance to shoot a Cx4 the other day and I liked it. It felt crisp, it had almost no recoil, it was light, I liked the sights, and it can take 30 round mags. I've been looking to buy a lightweight rifle of some kind under $1000 and the Cx4 matches the criteria. Is there any reason I shouldn't get one?

Sooo... I've heard taurus guns are poorly made.
except for the raging bull. If I forked over the money for one of these less expensive little risks in .44 instead of .454, could I reasonably expect that the gun would last at least 25,000 rounds without needing repair or blowing my hand apart?
for example, I saw vids of their .500 failing, and consequently it's not on their website anymore. the .44 seems to have been a staple since I got hardcore into funs when I was much younger.
have they changed their ways? can their raging series be counted on, or are they just a liability?
