The premise of this scenario is that Argentina has invaded the Falklands again, and the UK needs to recapture them, without any support from the US or other countries. Who wins?
Scenario 1: Present day, all equipment currently in the UK
Scenario 2: Whenever the limeys get their aircraft carrier to work

The use of night vision gave a huge advantage to the Brits so it would be a whole lot different today
>>34442880
1. U.K.
2. U.K.
Argentina is still a weak fuck and will stay that way until they are split or absorbed.

Given that the British didn't have NVGs below company level, and the Argentines had them in each section and far more sophisticated (uprated AN/PVS-5), would you like to tell us how Britain had a huge advantage in that respect?

If you serve in the Senior Service would you accept the return of the Lash for grievous disciplinary inflictions as well as hangings for acts of cowardice in battle and/or treason?
In exchange you get the daily rum tot back and are warranted to full prize money according to the Cruisers and Convoys Act of 1708
>>34442511
>>34442511
Technically, we still have the death penalty for two offences:
High treason ( against the person of the sovereign and their heirs) and arson in HM Dockyards
>>34443099
questions remains, would accept the lash in exchange of rum and booty
Why don't we have stealth soldiers already? Is it because grunts are seen as expendable dregs of the society?
Our basic uniforms help mask ir signature by using ir disruptive pigments. Snipers have been given thermal reduction suits really fucking hot and sweaty not fun to wear.
Really actual optical cammo like that wont exist until we get some super crazy meta material. Although the prime intention of current cammo is to break up your outline and make it harder to realize you are a target.
>>34442430
because not only are there 1,000+ ways to detect them and only like 10 ways to hide them, But theres also only so much damage one person can do. And the more stealth soldiers you add to a group, the easier they are to find, And at that point, even a basic screen and patrol pattern by some 3rd world warlord can catch and kill them, And then you just sacrificed millions in gear and training.
why don't we have those hot pussy suits like she has.
Hey I'm looking into getting a pistol, I have military training, but I don't know much about civilian weapons, and things like cost, advantages, and concerns. I'm interested in a Glock chambered either way, but I just wanted to know what wisdom you all have to impart.
>>34442289
Before the debate blows up... try out different calibers. Pick one based on both your preference and budget. Go shoot it a lot.
You'll see a lot of terminal ballistics bullshit here soon enough, but at the end of the day, all these pistol calibers have put down someone somewhere. You like .40 over 9? Fantastic. .45 Stronk? That works too. Just get out there, shoot it, master it, and enjoy.
>>34442289
I've always said I'd get either .9mm or .45, I own 2 9mm's and 1 .45 now, they both have stopping power (if 9mm doesn't have stopping power then how are cops killing so many people?) In a SHTF scenario, both are widely used calibers so you should be able to pick them up most places.
>>34442289
okay, so cost, obviously .45 costs more than 9mm, advantages 9mm doesn't have a history of bouncing off car windows but you get a louder bang and get to seem scarier, concerns are you were in the military and don't know anything about guns.
Where my Thompson center and single shot bros at? True patricians of the single shot master race get in here. What do you have? What are you looking to buy? Show me your wares.
Just picked up pic related the other day for a song. Guess what I paid.
>t/c contender in average/fair condition
>357 barrel w choke
>44 mag barrel w choke
>22lr barrel w scope
>222 Remington barrel w scope
>Not getting a .30-06 barrel and shooting bullets made of your ground up rib bones
You're never gonna be able to kill any magus that knows his shit if you don't take this seriously.
I've got some cleaning to do
Happy independence day from a Romanian no guns /k/illers. Considering the date, lets make a sexist american firearms thread.

Pic related, 1911 that supports the patriarchy.
Ever get kicked by a mule in the shoulder?
A couple of days ago it was released in the local media that a company yet to be named to the public is currently testing a new weapons series in EU countries. As local media is very uneducated on the subject of firearms, they said that the main rifle is chambered in 9x19, but apparently that's a whole different model that is also being tested. The main weapon being tested is a rifle in 7.62, and there is also a word of a pistol in 9x19 that seems to be a SIG Copy.
Seeing as how both Serbia and Croatia are putting their weapons on the market, if these Bosnian weapons are any good they could actually sell if they could compete with the price of other cheaper firearms if the factory making them pushes for the civilian market and exporting to the US.
I'll post some photos for you, this is completely new to me as well.
Btw for whatever reason the weapons all seem hold SMG in their name.

That looks like a Frankenstein monster.
>buy gun
>does nothing but sit in a safe all day
this hobby blows
>>34442023
>keeping your gun in a safe
What is it keeping you from shooting it regularly? Do you not have time for range trips with your friends? No money for ammo to go shooting with? No areas around to go camping innawoods? No public land? What gives?
You could put it in your mouth and pull the trigger

Sounds like OP needs a fucking job to afford all the .50 bmg or 500 mag for his youtube meme gun
What is the most powerful caliber bullet it can stop?
>>34441917
Maybe a .22 if you're lucky.
>>34441917
Depends on what you fire. Probably a 12 gauge of birdshot or rocksalt.
>>34441917
Probably a 45.
22 and 9 would have too much velocity to stop.
As of today I'm officially hasgunz and have an 870. Quick question in regards to cleaning, what's a basic list of supplies you guys reccomend for cleaning and oiling?
COSMOLINE

Who is that QT?
>>34441863

thats it...
Opinions on whether or not I should buy a TT33?
>>34441837
7.62 is fun but expensive, 9mm is kind of pointless considering its a 8 round single stack
good ergonomics reminiscent of early colt/browning designs
Are more pressing needs fulfilled? Y/N?
If Y, buy gun.
If N, don't buy gun.
Don't get a TT, get a yugo m57
One extra round, New production, functional safety, cheap af, come with a guaranteed dash of ethnic cleansing
The media like to say he's a "nuclear weapons expert" but every video I've seen of him he comes off as a hack. His background is writing books on fast food and weed.
Things like claiming that if the W53 warhead on that Titan II that blew up in Arkansas had detonated it would have wiped out Arkansas (demonstrably false), and claiming the Goldsboro nuclear bomb was on step away from detonation (Maggelet and Oskins quite firmly refuted that).
So, typical leftie anti-nuclear hack?
Well it's tough to say. Is Herman Kahn a fraud then, since there's a fair bit of overlap between Dr. Kahn's "On Thermonuclear War" and Mr. Schlosser's work "Command and Control"? To say that Mr. Schlosser is a fraud may be disingenuous, so much to say that while enthusiastic, he's a little under-educated on the subject that he's describing in his works.
Tough to say senpai.
I'm about halfway through command and control right now. There's plenty of fear mongering with his interpretation of the 1950s though it's probably warranted.
His writing style is frustrating. He introduces way too many people and it detracts from the main story.

Given the increasing levels of violence coming from groups like antifa, does /k/ think there is a risk of chlorine for pools being used in do it yourself chemical warfare?
>>34441554
What a terrible idea. What makes you think a few protesters are that big of a threat?
>>34441594
People are being radicalized to the point where they shoot up baseball fields of people they disagree with. The threat of domestic terrorism is not unfounded. My concern is the risk of these groups manufacturing chemical weapons.
