>muh modularity
if you have the full size gun and want a subcompact for carry, you still need to buy a barrel, slide and frame - basically a whole new gun. the thing is only a feature in shitholes which limit the number of guns you can have.
>muh new design
sig was too lazy to design a striker gun from the ground up and instead took their xboxhueg bore axis P250 and turned it into the P320.
>muh SIG tacticoolness
seriously what does this ugly brick do that something like the M&P, Glock, FNS or fuck even an XD cannot? Like the m45 MEUSOC, it just seems like fanboys on the adoption committees wanting their favorite gun adopted by the military.
its objectively a revolutionary idea that will create dozens upon dozens of new firearm manufacturing companies just like AR uppers and lowers did

>not wanting the freedom to change any part of your pistol for any number of reasons
Stop being a fudd, this is a great thing for the pistol industry even if the gun itself is mediocre.

I do not see nor hear much about M1903 Springfields very much these days, and I mean from the original all the way up to the A4 configuration. Are they just too expensive, boring, or even unreliable (in any mix of the three)? I could see reproductions being expensive as they are new, but I have never heard of them being unreliable, given that they were based off of the Mauser action. Yet Mauser rifles tend to be more popular, so I am led to believe that M1903s are just boring, as with any other bolt action Mauser style rifle. I guess it doesn't have all the edginess that would come with having a Nazi-era Mauser rifle, or something that at least looks like one, whereas the M1903 has its own look. Am I right, /k/, or is there another explanation?
>inb4 Anon derails the thread because I mentioned "edginess" and "Mauser" in the same sentence
I am not trying to start a fight, just trying to gauge the reasoning behind the M1903's popularity (or rather, lack thereof) and one cannot deny that Nazi ties with the Mauser at least have a hand in those rifles' popularity, so it would seem reasonable that that would be part of the Mauser's leg-up over the M1903 in terms of popularity. Same with the Mosin and the Soviet Union's ties to it (though the sheer number and [past] cheap prices surely have had greater influence on the Mosin's popularity than historical ties). What I am guessing here is that the relatively normal service life the M1903 had is part of why it may not seem as popular as other rifles of the time.
I've always wanted one, they are like 1 grand for a good example. Which is odd, considering there were a bunch made.

When I was 19, an old war vet offered to give me one for free. Dad told him not to give it to me, guns r bad. I already owned rifles but the vet told me that he had to listen to my dad.
The vet died, the guns were turned in to the local sheriff station. And now, a decade later, my dad hits me up ocassionally to shoot rifles.

In the off chance this isn't a troll and you're just biased:
There were less of them made than the huge plethora of other mausers.
M1903: 1,300,000+
G98: 9,000,000+
K98: 14,600,000+
So the rifles are more popular by definition.
Is Brat 1 & 2 /k/ approved? Russian gangster film from the 90s, a far bit of jury rigged gunsmithing in both.
Also movie thread
The finale of the first has the hero, Danila, storming a penthouse with a sawed off loaded with nails

Watching that movie ensured my belief that Russians are white niggers. Especially after learning that trash like that is a cult classic.
>>34461199
Those 2 were my favorites and most watched movies for years.
I think it depicts well the sad russian soul.
Anons, obviously some of us are armed, and could therefore be considered protectors of our nations and our freedoms. But what have you done for your country lately? I don't even mean anything as far as Nathan Hale, who famously said "I only regret that I have but one life to give for my country". What have you done recently to make the world around you better?
I feel completely alienated from the world around me
I live in a vacuum
>>34465116
You don't need to connect with people around you to connect with the world around you. Picking up trash in your neighborhood is a good example. I hate litter, personally
>>34465151
I live in a nice suburban neighborhood. I don't have to pick up any trash because there is none. I don't have to do anything.
What does /k/ think of Carlos Hathcock?
>>34461006
never heard of him and too lazy to google
My dad met him in VA beach, he came to shooting matches. Signed his scorecard but dad lost it.

he killed a lot of vietnam fucking shits
Let's talk about speed loaders, /k/
I'm getting into the revolver scene and I want to get a couple speed loaders. What does everyone here use?
Its a toss up between an HKS or speed beez.
Is the speed beez worth the ~35 dollars compared to the 10 dollars the HKS is? What about the speed strips?
>>34460750
I like moon clips.
Less bulky, faster but it shifts the burden of deciding how to protect them from breakage/bending.
>>34460774
I thought moon clips were just for revolvers chambered in rimless cartridges like .45 or 9mm
>>34460750
That's a pretty neat box. I need one.
T. Revolverfag
-Are "spoon tip" bullets precise enough at long ranges or does the spooned tip make them lose their trajectory?
-Are they more efficient on an unarmored target than hollow points?
-Does the "spoon" reduces their penetration capability against armored targets?
-Would a 5,45x39 (designed to yaw on inpact) be more efficient and lethal than a spoon tipped 223?
>>34460703
Each comparison would be with the same velocity/load/weight etc.
I know the most important is shot placement.
>>34460703
Oh thank god I thought I was going insane
I remember reading about 4.6x33mm years ago and then I tried to look it up again months ago and it's like it's fucking disappeared from the internet. I even remember the slanted tip rounds and everything. Where the hell did the wikipedia page go?
>>34460736
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/4.6%C3%9736_mm
So, what are your opinions on my questions?
Would a homemade 223 spoon tipped bullet create as much/more damage on soft tissue (by tumbling/yaw) than a hollow point, while still offering more penetration?
Britfag here, how can I get a shotgun (or any other gun) to use in a field I own?

Anyone else get nasty looks from the UPS guy?
My god, it's full of stars.
>>34464196
Not when the package is of .45 ACPs
>>34464196
Be advised: couriers are known to make a "game" of cracking open heavy, overstuffed parcels by throwing/dropping them to the ground because "fuck you". A busted parcel with live cartridges tumbling out will warrant a little more than "nasty looks".
Would events pan out differently in the modern era, given how common ccw is now?

He'd still be arrested because NY is a shithole city, but I think that public opinion would be with him because of all the shit that blacks have been doing lately- even normies admit that that the average black has the capacity for violence after all the BLM shit that has gone on in the last 3 years
Post war trucks
What is the point of bullpup rifles? They seem pretty impractical.
Congrats, you cracked the code.
Make the gun shorter and more compact without sacrificing barrel length and therefore accuracy
>>34460233
barrel length != accuracy, barrel length = velocity which is a component in accuracy but only one of many.
