Now you wait for 2 months for the Police to verify everything. During this time an officer will come to your house and verify that the gun safe is properly mounted to a wall, and that is is in compliance with the law.

After you get the authorization, you have 90 days to use that authorization to buy a gun. If you don't buy a gun during this period and don't have a very good reason why you didn't buy a gun, you must restart the whole process.

After you buy the gun, you have 5 days to take it to the Police where you will leave it for up to two weeks. During this time they will inspect it, test it, run the serial number, register it, make sure it is in compliance with the law.

After this two weeks, they will give you back the gun and the concealed carry license for a less than lethal firearm for self defense. The license must be renewed every 5 years.
Now, with this license, you go back to the store and are allowed to buy 25 cartridges. You are not allowed to have more than 25 cartridges per gun, and you are only allowed to own two guns for self defense.

The most powerful self defense gun available in Romania is the Grand Power T12 caliber 10x28 which has about 150 Joules muzzle velocity (9mm muzzle velocity is around 520 Joules) and costs about $800. A 10x28 rubber bullet cartridge costs about $1.

Other fun facts:
>You are not allowed to load your magazine with more than 12 cartridges.
>You are not allowed to carry your gun with a round chambered.
>You are not allowed to carry your gun without the safety on.

TL;DR: Gun laws in Romania are tough. The process of acquiring a less than lethal firearm which shoots rubber bullet cartridges takes almost 3 months. A less than lethal gun costs $800.

UK here
> No criminal record required
> £88 for firearms permit first, then £62 annually
> £79.50 for shotgun permit first time, then £49 annually
> Have to give medical reports for past 10 years to police
> either have to have your own land or belong to club in order to sign on
> Self defence is not a reason to own firearms (unless you live in Northern ireland)
> In northern ireland you can get pistols and Open carry is permitted
> Mainland UK Open carry is common in rural areas, and some pubs will have gun racks
> You must store weapon, bolt and ammo separately
> Storage is usually inspected by local firearms officer annually
> You don't require any permit to own ammo, but some stores reserve the right to not sell it unless you have one, but you are required to have a permit to store it
> If you want to buy "obsolete" and "antique" weapons you can buy them online and ship them straight to your home, no questions asked, no permits required
> "antique and obsolete" firearms include schmidt rubins and martini Henrys (despite still being stored by the millions by the MOD for war emergency)
> Illegal owned firearms are common, but are rarely used in crimes (AR180s, AR18s, STENs and sterlings are common as someone stole the tooling when sterling went defunct)
> Out of almost mutual respect police and criminals don't carry weapons
> Britain has the 9th lowest gun homicide rate globally
> You can own any calibre you want, going up to 120mm tank guns as they're technically "Single shot rifles"
> Shotgun certificates are limited to a 2+1 capacity (so either a double barrel or a pump or semi with a pinned tube)
> No limit on ammo capacity if you have a firearms permit with that
> Semi auto rifles are generally only allowed in 22LR
> You can only fire slugs out of shotguns if you have a firearm permit
> Saiga 12s with drums and slugs are pretty common if you have both

>I open my eyes a little, ask again
>What are 1911s usually chambered for?

>Holy fuck I thought he was going to fucking draw on me
>What caliber are 1911s!?

so tell me guys, why did peep sights attached to the actual stock of the rifle never really take off? It seems like a pretty good idea

>longer sight radius
>rear sight is nice and close to the eye
> if you've got some fug huge magnifier or a really long scope you can attach it a little further back to the stock and not only save some rail space but also shift the weight a little further back making it more comfy to hold

What's the deal /k/?

I guess, I couldn't find too many pictures of them. My google fu isn't very strong. But I was talking more like on an modern rifle and maybe if the rifle was built with the peep sight on the stock when it was in the factory. What about then?

Or do you mean it's more likely to get bent or knocked around losing it's zero?
>>
They did, and they're still made today. The real question you want to ask is why peep sights as a whole didn't take off WW2 and later.

What brand of generators are good? Or any alternatives. I need a heavy duty generator. Tell me the price range as well.

I live off the grid and will probably run this 8-12 hours a day.

I want this generator to last If I follow the maintenance without ever having to send it in the shop. Besides usual repairs.

Also any recommended books or websites to learn how to troubleshoot/fix/DIY small engines and generators+generator engines?

What kind of power bank are you going to use? It doesn't sound efficient to just run it for that many hours a day if you have a place set up, it'd be loud, generate exhaust, and you'd burn through a lot of fuel running it that long
>>
>>34498508
>I need a heavy duty generator.
Thousands probably. Unless you're going to suck down all the watts it can produce immediately you'll need a bigass battery.

Is it true you can buy almost anything from belarus? Like tanks, IFVs, and even air defence equipment?
>>
>>34498544
What you have listed can be procured from Belarus. The state owned defense industry makes products that cover all areas of the defense export market. They are an excellent work around to U.S sanctions on Russia, as most the same products, some identitically, are manufactured in Belarus.

So it is finally time for me to put down my cat. He's been with me for 20 years now and I can tell he's in a lot of pain with his arthritis. I want to put him down myself instead of taking him to some vet. I think it will be much better for him this way.

I just need to figure out which gun to use. Would my 308 or 10mm be a better choice for this?

>>34498024
at 20 years, he's probably got like what, 4 lives left? I'd say minimum 45-70 if you want to go through all four painlessly.
>>
>>34498040
Play it safe and use artillery, wouldn't want to leave it hanging on with one life left.
>>
>>34498024
My dad shot two cats with a 308 when I was a kid. Lined them up, because he only had one round. I didn't watch, he just told us he did it. Never said anything else about it, but now that I'm older, I think he either actually achieved it, by telling them to sit on a log or something, because they were really obedient. Or it didn't work out the way he planned, because it feels like that would be really difficult, even if you got one to suck the barrel. In that case, I'm sure one died, but the other was wounded and had to be left to die or he stomped on his head or something. Rough outting, either way. OP, I'd go with the 10. Just, like... Load some extra ammo.

I'd buy a newer one. The previous models had a reputation for being tedious to disassemble. The mkIV is much easier to break down for cleaning.

I asked about the gun show about 2 weeks ago and came away feeling pretty disheartened about what I would find there

>overpopulated with fudds and tacticool fags
>hot as balls
>overly expensive

What I actually found was that it was less serious then that.

Yes there were fudds and tacticool booths but there were actually alot of just normal people and I'm pretty sure a few /k/omrades.

There was some pretty good deals there as well, found .303 empire builder box of 20 in perfect condition for $7, assault packs for $40, great milsurp out the ass.

If you get are an arizonafag and get a chance to go next time do it. you will find alot there for great money

>pic related

Walked out with the following:
>520 rounds 7.62×39 Wolf Fmj for $110
>Gp-5 kit for $16 (came with jew filter)
>Ferman flectarn flack jacket in extremely good condition $25
>2 30 round Croatian BHO mags for my AK plus a 10 round for free
>32" soft case for my Yugo N-PAP DF.

I'm looking to setup some emergency lockers at a few places. All of these places are owned by my family and there's always someone onsite so this wouldn't be like leaving guns at an unoccupied hunting cabin. I'm paying for all of this out of pocket so I'd like to keep it inexpensive, within reason. Whatever I get will have to look unassuming when closed and be able to be bolted to a concrete floor.

I'm thinking it should probably be something like pic related. It's got space for three EBRs, three shotguns, three handguns, three IFAKs and accessories for all mentioned. If something should happen a person could open the locker, grab a pistol with a light and a pistol belt with a holster and loaded mags already attached. If they want a shotgun it has a sling with two dozen reloads attached. If they need a rifle there's 3-5 loaded mags for each in a pouch or something.

Since this is for emergencies, ease of use and reliability are my top priorities. My initial thought is to grab some ARs with iron sights, some mossberg 590s and glock 17s. No one in my family can shoot glocks worth a shit, and I'll never get them to practice so I might as well buy something with a more relaxed grip angle. I'm thinking M&Ps or P320s are probably a reasonable replacement. They probably won't have issues with 590s as long as they don't have pistol grips.

>Inexpensive 16" AR with iron sights
>18" Mossberg 590 with standard stock
>M&P or P320
