Tri-flon. It was suuposed to be a big deal because it had Teflon in it.
I'm not sure, but it may be called Tri-flow now. Unknown on Teflon content.
Cool map here that divides N. America into sections based on similar climates in different countries. Should have trained all of our ground forces for Iraq in Arizona.
Maybe a bit more /out/ related, but I thought /k/ would be interested, too. Post what country you're operating in based on this map.

What are ya playing? What's your steam handle?
I'm currently playing payday 2 and way of the samurai 3. Loving all the heists in the former. The latter is basically an open world samurai simulator with 32 different endings.
Steam Tag: Doom MD
I play a lot of Senran Kagura. Gets my dick hard. Love it. Good stuff all around.

Anyone else tired of buying ARs and carry pistols?
Why is the American gun market so boring now?

Parts kits all dried up? Century CETMES were apparently the last of those kits.
So I'm seriously considering picking up a Scar17s, despite the price tag and how everyone says it can "do anything a .308 AR can" I've heard nothing but good things. My questions is, how practical is it? I can afford the firearm, and ammunition ect, I just really like the idea of having a reliable battle rifle around with a little extra power than my 5.56. Opinions /k/?
The price and the weight of the ammunition. If those dont bother you, there's literally no downside.
Though bear in mind, that the SCAR, like any .308, is wasted without good glass.
>>34499438
Im wanting to buy an Acog with a fiber optic for it witand from what i understand it devours any and all ammunition you feed through it, so I'd just buy super cheap bulk ammonand run it with that.
>>34499416
It's a niche weapon that doesn't really fill the role between an AR and a sniper rifle. It's like an unnecessarily heavy DMR, especially in the hands of a powerful, wealthy military.
For home defense or 'defending the homeland' shtf uses, it's even less useful, because you want to focus on weapons that can sustain high volumes of fire. This cannot.
For hunting purposes there's more accurate and much cheaper bolt actions on the market. Same goes for DMR or sniping capabilities.
The primary function of most modern battle rifles is simply for collectors to say "I have a battle rifle :^)"
Hey /k/ is this a practical way to reload?

The new James Bond movie looks great.
I'm pretty new to guns and stumbled upon this guy's videos on Youtube. In particular he's talking about something called clearing buckets. Sounds pretty simple, you keep a bucket of sand in every room of your house in case you need to clear a gun. But is it really necessary?
His videos are some of the best I've found on Youtube but I'm not sure if the info is any good.

Yea, I hope you're not clearing and disassembling your firearms without a clearing bucket. It's one of the main rules of firearms safety.

tl;dr: Long hard school, to do shitty work, and the job prospects are a lie.
Which branch are you enlisting/enlisted/considering?
http://strawpoll.me/4671253
Just started thinking about enlisting in the Navy. I was wondering what jobs I should go for. Was thinking about learning a second language so hopefully they'd station me in cool places.
I'm going to read some of the OP stuff, but was wondering if I'd be on land any. What are the chances id be able to pick where to go? Not to sound like an autistic weeaboo, but I heard Okinawa was a pretty cool place, and it's where two of my friends met their spouses.
I'm 20.
I'm not joining just to be a tourist, so don't get the wrong idea, I want to learn a skill and be a hopeful to my country

The better you are at a language, the more likely you spend your career in a basement stateside translating intelligence. Forward deployed interpreters are generally just hired locals or native-born people from that area.
Worst handgun you ever bought/shot?
pic non related, or is it?
I honestly haven't shot or bought anything truly terrible yet from all objective measures. However, I did not enjoy shooting an LCP. I had difficulty getting a grip. This shouldn't be news to anyone that has also shot an LCP.
My biggest gun mistake was loading 500 rounds of LRN hardcast .45 and shooting it in an autoloader. Shit got everywhere.
A Glock 19 is unironically the least enjoyable pistol I've shot. It felt like shit in the hand, the controls sucked left-handed, and the trigger was pretty gritty.
I'm sure it's a good and reliable gun, but I couldn't see why I'd want to drop 500+ on one if I had to rice it out to make it enjoyable to shoot.
Any and all revolvers. There really is no explaining why people still use them.

Loaded with 45lc or 410 slugs it would do just fine for shooting a burglar.
I prefer a 9mm loaded with gold dots for home defense but different people like different things.
So /k/, whats the books title?

Have you ever pointed a loaded gun at someone?
What were the circumstances?
It must have been hell being a African-American in the 90's. Police brutality at an all time high and shit like the Rodney King incident. Must have been scary times.
