I'm looking into a bolt action centerfire gun (won't be scoping it) and I can't decide which one. I was thinking about a Ruger Scout or a CZ but they're a little pricey.
Then I came across pic related.
My LGS is selling a WW2 unissued pristine Lee Enfield for 500$.
Should I get it? Is that a good price? I heard the bolts on those guns are amazingly smooth and quick.
Are there other good modern bolt guns with irons out there? Or would a mint condition Lee Enfield serve me well for an iron sighted bolt action?
Primarily want one just to fuck around with as an all purpose bolt action. And of course, hog hunting.

Ok, i got a really fucked up situation upon my family.
My dad is a lawyer representing a lot of conned people, 400 to be exact, and he is on the middle of a lawsuit and elevated criminal charges for fraud agaisn't a important and rich owner of a construction company, this guy may be risking jail and loosing millions.
Now my dad a couple of days ago was being tailed by a red car, for a lot of time, he decided to stop the car and roll down the window and the driver of the other car steped out and when he put his face on the hole of the window my dad pepper sprayed him and escaped.
A few days later one of the conned, a women was tailed by 2 men on motorbykes who put themselves on both sides of the car and bashed her windows, and one told the other "pull out the gun" before the managed to escape.
I am convinced that my dad has been picked as a mark by thugs hired by this conman.
What the fuck do i do?
I really need advice.
Sorry if it isn't directly related to weapons, but it is related to personal security and bodyguards, which i will suggest him to get.

Hey /k/ I'm hoping you can help me, or at least give me some suggestions for where to go from here.
I'm looking to start shooting a new caliber, but I can't stand the idea of shooting the same stuff as everyone else. Here's a short list of the things I'm looking for in my final selection. Surely something will fit my conditions.

>wrists are too wimpy to shoot .45
>want something without the downsides of both but the performance of neither
>I'd prefer to pay a premium to buy this caliber in my favorite gun brands
>overpaying for ammunition would be ideal
>I'd like to be sure that my local gun shops will perpetually understock this caliber
>I definitely want to have to special order magazines

Need an optic for an 11.5" patrol rifle and can't use a red dot due to astigmatism. Thinking about using a 1-4 Accupower since our standard standoff distance is around 50 yards. Wouldn't be shooting long range obviously but being able to see more with magnification would be nice.

Then again, Hi-Point has made some questionable business decisions in the past.
First and foremost among them, apparently it is possible to convert some of their pistols (the .45 or the .40 I believe) to 10mm Auto quite easily, as done by Iraqveteran8888. Why they don't actually offer one from the factory baffles me, because a dirt fucking cheap 10mm pistol with a 10 round mag would be the utter tits.
