What apps and games does /k/ use on phone?
this is probably my most used one. Very realistic and highly recommended!

Not willing to go on and pay for the full app, because lol fuck that, but it's a neat way to pass the time.
Not a game, yet entertaining.

How long would it take to destroy all of best korea's artillery pieces when they start targeting Seoul?
Wouldn't any kind of effort be too late, too few?
I mean, even when they're all lined up like pic related, wouldn't it take a shitload of time before even the first one gets taken out? And what if they involve some kind of sam/manpad defense?
>>34643631
most of the artillery pieces take 30 minutes to set up, and the US/SK are both on 5 minute alerts in some areas
Well, no. It's not as big a problem as it seems for a couple of reasons.
1. Even their closest, longest-ranged guns can only target the upper 1/3rd of Seoul. Whatever damage they can do will be relatively limited.
2. The North Korean dud rate is astounding, approaching 50%.
3. Modern counterbattery radars are extremely good at what they do. Consider the fact we had the first CB radars in the early 60s, and were capable of directing return fire as early as the 70s.
4. The presence of North Korean artillery is no secret by any means and both Sork and US forces are on guard for it at all times. Being a much more imminent threat than any NBC attack, Nork artillery never leaves the sights of US and Sork fire controllers.
The chances are actually pretty damned poor for the Norks. I think the last estimate I read was something on the order of a maximum of three hours before Nork artillery capability is reduced to 20% or less at the border, and I don't think that counts the deployment of US/SK strike aircraft after the initial fabled "seven minutes of hell".
>>34643663
and what if you set it up as "targer practice" or employ proper counter intelligence? then you have the problem
they fire their first wave. all SK/US assets start their counter attack.
they take 5 minutes to get jets fired up/into their tanks/ ships.
In that time the NK Arty keeps on shelling ..
and then they need how many minutes? 5? 10 ? to reach the positions.
it will definitly to significant dmg if they manage to hit.
Karl has a wonderfully abrasive personality. For some reason he really seems to hate the forward assist without even knowing how it works. Pic related. The funny thing is that the forward assist can engage the BCG cutouts as soon as the bolt contacts a round in the magazine.
They seem to get a lot of interesting and somewhat unique topics on point and seem to just completely fall flat when bringing up others. I like how they are using red dots on pistols and trying it out. The seem to really hate the forward assist, though.
>>34643006
Karl is a fucking tryhard idiot. This is well established. If he didn't have Ian giving him a shred of legitimacy he would be a worse joke on /k/ than yankeemarshal or nutnfancy.
oh, so THIS is the reason for the recent wave of morons saying the assist causes jams/jams to become worse. good to know.

Which is better for HD?
#4 all the way

Follow-up: Which is better for general purpose self-defense?
>>34639463
00 wins for general purpose. If gives you extra range and penetration against light cover (concealment). Inside the home #4 takes it. I would prefer #4 at any range inside 20 yards.
Whats your favorite .22 that isn't a a 10/22 or a Marlin 60?
Mine is the Marlin XT-22 with the detachable magazine. My only complaint is the mag capacity should have been 5 or 10, not 7.
Can't go wrong with a good solid bolt action .22
>>34638314
I used to have a Savage bolt action .22 with a synthetic stock that I LOVED, but I was dumb and sold it when I was like 16 and haven't gotten around to replacing it. Looking at getting a CZ 455 Trainer instead.
>>34638314
Are .22 pistols a meme or would you ever get one?
>>34638342
Get the cz senpai
That's a beautiful rifle
does dual wielding actually work or is it just a meme?
Meme.
You're much better off with binary triggers if you want to put that much lead downrange. Then you can also reload properly.
Depends on what your goal is.
Waste ammo twice as fast? Works perfect!
>>34634297
I remember seeing a pic from the Kenyan mall shooting of a security guy holding 2 pistols. He was doing so not to dual wield shoot, but to have another weapon available quickly.

What about the CZ 82/83?
What am I looking at here /k/?
I work at a place that kinda sells guns on the side in a small town and this guy came in about a week ago with this story about a rifle he got from the Philippines. I got pictures of it today and it just looks like a short nugget to me. What do you think?
>>34654262
>>34654266
M44 carbine.
>>34654262
That's because it is. It's either a m44 or a chink type 53.
Walked into a gun shop recently and saw a Spanish Mauser in 7.62x51 for 450. It was in great shape and I looked at his other prices and they were pretty fair but why would this be so expensive? Am I missing something? Like I said, it was in great shape so is it safer to shoot than the ones from jandg sales?
>>34653885
From my understanding, the rifling in the J&G guns is borderline non-existent due to wear over the years. I my first Mauser was a Spanish model in 7.92x57. Price is only going to rise on surplus, and 7.62 NATO is breddy available. I don't know if it is "safer" per say, but it would be more shootable.
>>34653885
He overpriced it, likely by accident. I wouldn't touch it with a 10 foot pole at that price point.
>>34653919
>7.92x57 also known as 8mm Mauser also known as 8x57
I really wish we had some kind of standardized system of naming cartridges to avoid this retardation.

I just got done watching Equilibrium, and immediately went online to research gun martial arts. I found a few small places that mention it, but really no training or developed martial arts schools.
I thought I'd ask gun fanatics for their opinion on this. Can there be an effective martial art which treats the gun as a total weapon, and not just a projectile weapon? Or are guns just not built to smack people around, or parry an opponent's blows?
>>34653368
No, because the gun is NOT a total weapon, and neither are you. Gun kata has two parts, predicting where bad guys will be to shoot them as fast as possible- This is called point shooting, and is a real skill police and .mil use.
The fae ass part is the part about being kung-fu enough to not get hit. Mobility will help if you have to draw down on a lone gunman, but will not help as the movie depicts- you will get hit.
Also, the gun does more damage than you possibly could any other way by shootingthe. The whole point of a gun is so you dont HAVE to be a total weapon, because you can avoid melee altogether.
All of the movie choreography was Philipino martial arts, i.e. Escrima, Arnis de Mano, Kali, whatever you wanna call it.
>>34653413
Thanks for explaining, man. Still.... it'd be pretty cool if that shit was possible.
Martial arts is the systematic study of fighting on the personal level. When the army teaches recruits to fight with an assault rifle, that's a martial art. Take a self defence shooting class, and that's a martial art. Martial arts do not mean old foreign fancypants stuff.
While there may be some bayonet stabbing here and smashing someone's temple with the stock there, as you pointed out guns aren't really meant to smack people about. They're really good at killing at a distance, so instead of focusing on what to do when someone gets close you're better off making sure they don't get close to begin with. And once up close, you can still shoot fuckers with them, the bullet kills real good as soon as it leaves the muzzle.
