How difficult would it be to make a completely functioning goatsfoot crossbow? I only ask because nost if not all sites selling medeical crossbows say that their product is only for decoration, and lack the actual power of the weapons theyre modeled after.

On a scale of 1-10 probably somewhere between 1 and 10.
10 Being most difficult and 1 being easiest obviously.
>>
I doubt it would be too difficult. There are several sites online for dedicated bow makers. I'm sure they'd have more insight than anyone on /k/

Making a crossbow is considerably harder than making a bow.

Was watching S.W.A.T. on netflix. They were showing one of the challenges in the SRT Q course. The candidates had to tread water for 15 minutes. Guess the ethnicity of the first candidate who quit?

Was it a black guy? They just usually don't float as well as whites or asians. I was a swim coach for almost 8 years and of all the black kids I coached only a handful could successfully do floating drills, and it wasn't from a lack of poor technique in most cases. I had very limited experience coaching hispanics, so I can't speak for their floatability.

Of course it is. It's called knowing how to properly use the weapons given to you.
I still don't know if it's a skilled or lucky shot, but not anywhere near impossible.

US SOF vs Jordanian terrorists
Video!

Notice the Americans btfo the rifle wielding kebab with sidearms and then the response from the rest of the base is to hunt them down and make sure they're dead.

wait what happened? there was a gunman that the americans took down and then the jordans proceeded to mow down the americans after they surrendered and were waving their hands in the air?
>>
>>34655042
no, it was just a dip shit Jordanian soldier that started shooting at unsuspecting green berets returning to base. He claimed that he shot in fear that "the base was about to come under attack". The green berets got out and starting yelling that they were friendly forces.

The excuse for murdering green berets was bullshit and that's why he was sentenced to life in prison with hard labor.

Hi y'all,

I'm interested in purchasing my first firearm but have no experience, apart from shooting at a gun range twice. Nobody in my family has any experience either. I'm looking for an affordable but durable gun that fires inexpensive ammunition. I've looked into it and found this handgun that costs less than $300 and fires a .22LR. I understand that this might not be ideal for self-defense, but would it make a good starter gun?

Otherwise, what starter-guns would you all recommend?

Unfortunately those aren't Walthers, they are made by the Umarex parent company and have problems with parts and reliability. One of the best semi-auto 22s in that style is the SR22. Some people run into a lot of failures using that type of pistol because of the nature of the 22 rimfire and often the cheapness of the ammo. You'll probably learn how to clear a jam really well though. Avoid the P22 and the Sig Mosquito, and possibly the Beretta Neos (mixed reviews). The designs like the Buckmark and Ruger Marks tend to be better to shoot and can be had at a good price used.

As for starter guns in general, that question is as broad as the ocean and you won't get much meaningful advice until you narrow down things like price, caliber, size, weight, usage, and action type. Most people are going to push you towards a basic striker fired polymer 9mm compact due to the ammo and gun costs being manageable. They are very easy to learn with and the recoil is fine even for a novice. I would keep researching and shooting until you have a few of those nailed down for your first purchase.

I have a P22 and actually like it a lot. But... it's picky about ammo.

When I use Remington Yellow Jacket, Thunderbolt or CCI MiniMag, it runs great.

When I tried cheaper/more available (in my area) Aguila ammo it would jam every other shot.

/k/, the CIA has hired and sent you to an enemy country

your job is to modify a newly-acquired safe house for maximum effectiveness

how can you make a safe house as concealed as possible, easily defend-able against outside attackers AND also make it harder for the outsiders to recon and watch your safe house?

you have a budget of 2k dollars to do it.

2000 dollars will barely cover fire extinguishers...

Super hot fire? I'm the fire extinguisher.
>>
>>34653364

$2,000 worth of sandbags, concrete, and wooden boards to reinforce the interior from penetrating shots.

Leave the house alone because suddenly changing it on the exterior would be the very thing that makes it stand out and worth investigating.

Counterinsurgencies aren't actually possible.

You can't win a counterinsurgency war.

>inb4 "You have to kill everyone"

That isn't counterinsurgency, it's genocide, which we all know stopped being possible after the Renaissance took hold.

You literally cannot conduct a genocide today. You could try, but you'll have literally the entire world turn against you if you're actually trying for a Genocide.

OP, you're a tard with little faith and historical knowledge. You can win at COIN, here is how. Keep in mind there is no one good example of COIN, you have to adapt SOPs, tactical, operational, and strategic level thinking to the situation, culture and all, at hand.

First, you must understand what an insurgency is. Generally speaking it is a "popular" uprising where the fighters blend seamlessly into the background. As Mao stated "swim among the populace." Support from the local populace, be it organic or coerced, is key to their survival. Another key to their survival is outside support from third parties or other states. Think about the Soviets funding almost every communist uprising in latter half of the 20th century. Without the insane ammount of material that was being chucked into Africa many Black marxist uprisings would have failed.

With that in mind, the next question to ask is how do you fight. There are the kill them all proponents, which believe it or not actually works to a certain extent, and the "hearts and minds" proponents. Militaires tend to focus on one or the other, the latter being popular among the soft power folks and civilian leadership that are afraid to get their hands really dirty. I propose you need a synthesis of the two.

Massacring the populace of a nation is likely to draw negative attention to your cause, and will mostly serve as propaganda for the insurgents. On the other hand if you don't stack some bodies the enemy and populace will view you as weak and exploit any gaps they can find. For example, US ROE in Afghanistan was an absolute clusterfuck that effectively put a muzzle on any aggressive action with red tape. The Taliban knew it and used it to their advantage.
