I'm 18 right now and I want to be a Navy SEAL. I know that this makes me a massive fucking dork, I know that there's a very good chance that I'll fail, and I know that it will be extremely difficult, but I've still got my mind set on this and I'm willing to give it my all. Does /k/ have any suggestions on how I should train and prepare myself for this?

Why would you come here to ask when there are so many better places?
>>34686532
You guys are my only friends :(
I have four of these mags.
They all don't work.
They only get to like 20 or 21 rounds before it's impossible to load more. Even before then it's difficult and they tend to dip down or become loose with no spring pressure. Plenty of problems with them loading into the rifle but not ejection problems. Had one round left and the bolt wouldn't pick it up no many how many times I tried.
Now I'm fairly new to guns so maybe im some how not loading then right but I don't think so. I load them with two thumbs and make sure they seated back and do it slowly and carefully.
Still don't work.
>>34686491
Bump.
sometimes mags just suck
>>34686491
7.62 AR mags are shit. AK mags are shaped like that for a reason. There's a reason an AR in x39 that takes those mags aren't common. Sorry op
Is it ok to keep my 2 glocks out in my room with the door closed during the summer? I don't have central air and it gets to like 90+ degrees in my room and pretty humid until I turn on my window unit (I only do this when i'm at home and not working)
They're not in a box or anyhting, just on my night stand. I live in Wisconsin so we have some humid days
>>34686439
Keep a thin coat of oil on the metal. If you actually care about your guns, get a couple of gunsocks and a few little silica gel packs.
>>34686439
Just keep your gun in rice dude
>>34686439
buy a dehumidifier and/or get a window unit air condition.
they will be fine if you keep them oiled and check on them every few days.
I live in south and i cant leave a gun in car for more than a few hours with out them flash rusting. But i keep my house between 65-70 degrees all year round with very little issue.
I did see some rust on two of them after storing them in a blanket for a week but that's it. I keep my guns all out in the open normally.
I know this isn't weapons related but either way it might as well be.
Flat feet.
I have flat feet and Im looking to get rid of them without going through surgery. Have any of you guys dealt with this problem.
Im in pretty decent shape but Ive always avoided running (stuck with swimming and biking) because my feet and legs are fucked when I start running.
I have orthotics but honestly they don't do shit
>>34686182
Get better orthotics.
>>34686182
This is probably a question for /fit/. while /k/ is certainly the board for all things weapons related, the human body and it's maintainence is not commonly discussed here.
>>34686206
/fit/ is for powerlifting and roids
Im assuming people on /k/ actually run and do cardio because there are mil people here
Go to /fit/ and start a running thread lol
That bad boy is the ISU-152. Nicknamed the Zveroboy (beast killer) because of what it did to Panthers and Tigers.
The gun was not a fancy high velocity anti-tank gun, but it didn't matter. The shell it fired was like a trash can full of high explosive, it was so massive and powerful that it would rip the turrets clean off enemy tanks and send them flying. Failing that, a hit to the hull would cause massive spalling inside enemy tanks, almost invariably killing their crews.
It was somewhat crude, but if a Zveroboy hit you, it was all over. It was so powerful, in fact, that Soviet testing showed that if a 152 hit the front plate of the vaunted King Tiger, it would not only cause significant spalling, but cause the welds to crack and the front armor plate to fall off the tank.
Scalpels are nice and all, but sometimes you just need a big axe to get the job done.
How many saw action?
I know very little about tanks, but this sounds like slavaboo nonsense/masturbation
>>34685693
This is what an ISU-152 HE round did to a Panther turret.
Post them
I'll start
Here's my Bianchi M12's and UM92 holsters and accessories.

Is there anything wrong with unironcially carrying a Colt SAA?
>>34685527
yes, you arent carrying 3 of them
>>34685527
Read Jeff Cooper's stories about carrying the SAA during WWII and his bit about "[the advice to carry it] nearly got him killed". Fun range toy, fun for CAS, fun for collecting, utterly outclassed by any DA revolver. Not to mention that the fucker is BIG.
>>34685527
As long as its in .44 magnum, its fine to carry.
Questions that don't deserve their own thread
I have astigmatism, but my vision is correctable to 20/20 with glasses or contacts. Can I still use red dot sights if I wear my lenses?
>>34685516
You can still use red dots if you have an astigmatism, it just wont be a perfect dot, it will be a starburst.
Correcting your vision doesnt have anything to do with it because an astigmatism is an issue with the shape of your eye. Things that help reduce the the starburst effect if the dot include turning the brightness down, wearing polarized sunglasses, and cowitnessing the dot with a rear ghost ring.
Alternatively you could use a prismatic sight

>Correcting your vision doesnt have anything to do with it because an astigmatism is an issue with the shape of your eye.
to your knowledge shortsightness is an issue with a shape of your eye too
Waveform guided LASIK corrects astigmatism my dude, quit being poor and go get you some laser eyes
What does /k think of the m9a3?
>>34685263
yawn
>>34685263
I don't
>>34685263
More comfortable than the previous model, but it's expensive as fuck.
Why did police carry revolvers instead of 1911s back in the pre-Glock era?
>>34685155
Because until the 80s policing, especially outside of cities, was more about PR and a revolver was fine for that. If things got bad they would still probably have a shotgun in the cruiser.
>>34685185
Wouldn't a 1911 be fine for that too?
>>34685155
Back in the good ol days the police just beat people to death.
Now they are too fat to beat on folks with melanin, so they gotta glock em.
What does /k/ think of shooter?
What other shows are fun and /k/ approved?
fuck this guys stupid face and stupid accent.
Justified
>>34684603
I like shooter, cause it shows a little bit of whats involved in a long range shot, and wasnt boring enough that I lost interest.
now....as for a /k/ show...
STRIKE BACK
If youve ever played the army of two games, its that if it was aired on an HBO type network.
Its about a former delta and SAS guy bro ing it out and killing terrorists. The american guy gets laid every episode, and the british guy acts professional as fuck. Funny thing is, the actors, the American guy is played by an aussie, and the british guy is played by an american.

Who actually decides if someone is deserving of a medal of honor?
And how do they differentiate between an action deserving of the medal of honor and an action that only deserves the distinguished service cross?
At those really high levels of military awards, is it all who you know that decides if you get the big one?
>And how do they differentiate between an action deserving of the medal of honor and an action that only deserves the distinguished service cross?
If the guy lives or not.
>>34684238
https://www.army.mil/medalofhonor/process.html
In all honesty though, the MoH is usually given to cover up a massive command fuckup that was only redeemed by someone on the ground. There have been multiple instances in afghanistan of higher refusing fires while COPs are being overrun, only to have the day saved by some shit hot buck sergeant killing dudes with tripods and shit.
>>34684245
Or if the dude loses a limb or three.
I am so indecisive about buying my first metal frame pistol. I am torn between a CZ-75, Sig 226, HK USP , Browning Hi-power and Beretta 92. Any other suggestions? Any pros and cons of these guns?
>>34683299
The USP has a Polymer frame ya dingus
If you can get a full metal USP i say go for it.
>>34683299
USP is the best range and defensive gun you listed between those. It's also got the best barrel and finish of those listed. Get a USP and you won't regret.
