Why does /k/ think kf Talon Grips?
Considering purchase because it looks like it could combat my disgusting hand sweat.
Bought some for my g19, i like them
Absolutely fantastic and a must. Don't buy the knock offs, the adhesive is Shit.
I've had the same Talon Grips on my Flock 30S from back when the cop who started the business was selling them for $5 a pop.
It's the first thing I get for any gun. Get the rubber ones, btw.
>>34712426
Stippling works better, but this is an alternative that isn't complete shit.
So I'm in a financial bind and am thinking of selling all guns I can buy later like my aks and ar15. I'm keeping guns like my bhp and my garand since they're no longer produced (the bhp is pre Portugal so no subhuman third rate Spaniard wannabe fucked it up).
Any thoughts /k/omrades? I hate selling but I do need the cash.
Life happens. Do AR's first. Try to be more financially responsible next time.
>>34712192
I'd live in a dumpster with my guns before I sold them. Which I wouldn't have to do because I could live out of my car, I just wanted to be more dramatic.
>>34712192
Use guns to rob stores like it's gta, you'll make a lot of money.
>All gun sales can now be swayed by the online general meme consensus of the firearm community
>Guys do fairly rigorous testing and autism but the finesse can be meme'd into popularity
>/k/ can start the memes if /k/ uses truth

I vote Ruger because fuck mini-jamteens
>>34711763
Ruger keeps stiff revolver competition with smiff. We would miss them if they were gone.
Century on the other hand, I can agree with. Let people like jra get the surplus, charge a little more and do it right rather than wasting the kits.
>>34711763
Ruger is an excellent company, all things considered.
Century can DIAF though.
>>34711763
>Our memes could literally put a bad company out of business
Companies that /k/ "hates" like Century, CTD, IO and you're a fucking idiot for hating on Ruger.
>irrational HK hate because /k/ doesn't fact check
>irrational Springfield hate because /k/ doesn't fact check
>being this much of an idiot for thinking this shithole has any sort of influence or relevancy in the firearms industry
When I watch a youtuber measure the velocity of a bullet - say .45 APC and the speeds clocked at are all over the place for the same gun - same bullet - 1013, 1023, 1004, 1001, 997!?!
how is this possible... its a machine in your hand, and the bullets come from a factory I assume that has limited human contact. So one would assume that the rounds would be identical?
Or are we just getting fucked by the bullet manufacturers quality every third bullet we purchase?
Or is it because of some kind of weird heat issue with the gun, where your second bullet coming out will be peak velocity because the gun is primed for action now... much like a car is warmed up...
eggs plain yourselfs, dammit!

Uniformity of the powder/flakes.
Uniformity of the projectile.
The minute differences in the barrels.
Itty bitty shit stacks to noticeable sizes.
>>34710920
Also measurement error. Chrons street perfect, so you shoot a dozen or so save take an average.
Even using black powder muzzleloaders, you can get a pretty consistent velocity. Ten or 20 fps isn't enough to sweat about.
>>34710937
Meant to say chrons "aren't" perfect.

What does /k/ think of small missile ships?
This is Russia's Project 22800 Karakurt Class Small Missile Ship, some call it a corvette but since it's only 800 tons and 67 meter length others call it a patrol boat.
It only has guns (1 x76mm and some CIWS and Kord with Pantsir on the next ships) and 8 UKSK for different kinds of missiles depending on the mission. It's shit but the best thing about this is that they're already earmarked the budget for 18 ships.
So basically it is 800 tons and has 8 missiles for a 2,500 mile range and cheap enough that even Russia can afford to spam. The cons is no AA except for CIWS, No towed sonar, no helicopter and a smaller gun compared to other ships.
Most would say you don't need much else for a patrol ship but wouldn't you want to put more in a patrol ship than some guns and some missiles?
>>34710321
>Most would say you don't need much else for a patrol ship but wouldn't you want to put more in a patrol ship than some guns and some missiles?
Too lightly armored to be of any use in a shooting war, but to much shit on it if they just want to patrol littoral waters.

tfw the sheepz of a similar size were called destroyers back then, nowadays they aren't even considered corvettes

Hi folks, Kommando Radio here. We just got done interviewing Neall Ellis, of HIND piloting, Bush War fighting, commie killing fame! Pic related if you're somehow not familiar with this legend.
Check it out and let us know what you think!

How the fuck did you book this?
>>34707614
fucking nice. Been hyped since you announced it.
>>34707845
He did a quick and dirty AMA in a Facebook group that our marketing director is in, and she reached out to him and set it up. Incredibly humble and polite man!
>>34707871
Thank you! Always happy to hear that. It took longer than expected to work out a time for it, considering he's 6 hours ahead of the interviewer and a very busy man.
h-help me...
Bubbas spent the last 70 years hacking up milsurp rifles, and we're going to spend the next 75 years restoring them to the way they were. As milsurps get more and more expensive, businesses making restoration parts (especially stocks and barrels) will appear. We'll put them back in shape eventually.

Yes.

Yes
But have no worry its nothing a little #000 gauge steel wool cant get rid of. Oil it after tho

ITT gun myths that just won't die
>an enemy soldier could hear the ping of a Garand clip over the 170 decibel blast of the rifle itself, notifying said enemy soldier that the American soldier had to reload

ok Alex Jones
>>34713471
>you can't top off a garand clip
>you can't load a garand with anything less than a full clip
>the garands twisting bolt spins the cartridge in the chamber, breaking it free
>you will get garand thumb by loading a full clip
>you can't eject a partially full clip from the Garand
I don't know if it's fuddlore or actual lore at this point, but the myths about the garand are really annoying.
>the greatest battle implement ever devised
Oh fuck off with that. Technology has improved since then.

If 9mm is sufficient, why is it almost never used by serious handgun hunters? The best defensive handgun caliber is 41 magnum.
>>34711441
Because most people don't use handguns for hunting.
But you knew that already.
>>34711448
Doesn't matter. An animal's physiology is very similar to a man's. If it will kill a man, it will kill a hog and vice versa.
>>34711449
That is very much false.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
Hey /k/ so I live on a pot farm (in a legal state try to leave any judgements aside) and we were recently robbed. They came in the middle of the night and took 6 plants. I've been wanting to buy a gun for a while but figure it's about time now. I really I want an AR but it'll be a while until I have enough money for the rifle I want. Until then I want to pick up a shotgun to at least be able to scare away any thieves or intruders. My grandpa has an old .20 gauge I can probably get for free but I feel like a 12 gauge would be better should I just go buy a Mossberg 500 for a few hundred bucks until I can afford my rifle? I would get a handgun but am only 20. Also would like any suggestions on securing the home and garden. Picked up a motion sensor alarm and floodlights today getting cameras shortly. Any other ideas /k/ommandos?
If it's just for looks stick with the free 20. Especially if you're not experienced. 20 gauge will still kill a man just fine. Consider building your own AR15, it's easier than you think and much cheaper than buying a factory rifle
I will guard your potfarm for free weed.
>>34710263
I mean im hopeful simply being armed would deter them but at the same time I need to be prepared for them to be armed as well. I've been skeet shooting once but thats the only experience I have. We have lots of land and I could easily get some practice in as soon as I am armed. I'm very scrawny so I'm thinking 20 gauge might not be a bad idea but wouldn't mind learning to operate something with more recoil. And I wanted to build from scratch but can't purchase a lower receiver being under 21. Will probably get an Aero nearly complete and add hand guard grip and stock or just wait 1 year
