For shame /k/.
Post AKs. Talk about AKs. Ask what you should get for your first AK and get predictable responses.

Feel bad.
So /k/omrads, I was watching The Islamic State:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AUjHb4C7b94
And ran across this, I know that is a m4a(3or4 maybe) with an m68 optic.
I know that's a glock but, what is that square box on the end? Is that what I think it is? Is that a full auto conversion? How in the hell do these mudslimes know how to manufacture this?
They don't. Obama gives them stuff.

"Shoe bomb mastery"
Hey /k/, I has question. What is the deal between between double action only handguns, and what are the major differences or factors involving hammers vs strikers. I legit don't get this still since I am a no-fun newfag who only has a nugget
Double action only is a heavy trigger pull that cocks the hammer back and releases it with each trigger pull. Double action/single action has a lighter trigger pull for single action, which is what every shot will be after the first, because the slide coming back, on a semi-auto pistol anyway, will cock the hammer back.
Hammer fired guns can be cocked and locked, such as how 1911's are carried, if their user wants to carry with the safety on. Striker fired pistols, such as Glocks, have an internal striker that is half-cocked when you're carrying it. Pulling the trigger finishes pulling the striker back, then releases it. Striker fired pistols can only be shot once without the slide going back, unlike DA or DA/SA pistols, which you can typically pull the trigger on again without having to rack the slide.

You're welcome. Anything else you care to ask?
Recently I bought a 1943 Lee Enfield rifle that someone had spray painted in camo.
Today I started the restoration process, cleaning some metal fittings with acetone and brake cleaner. and scrubbing with a toothbrush.
What surprised me was the shininess of the metal. Is this caused by the blueing wearing off over time or the acetone removing the patina?
Pic related. The fittings in the top left are the ones I cleaned paint off of.

Isn't it beautiful? over 3200 markers now! /k/ommandos everywhere!
https://www.zeemaps.com/map?group=772301
It didn't get this way by itself. This map only exists because YOU add the markers.
You can add yourself (at least ZIP/email), your favorite funstores, innawoods spots, ranges, and more!
I'll post the instructions in the next post. If you have any questions, ask me here or email me.

Stockpiling General
So /k/ what are some supplies that I need to stockpile to stay indoors for an entire month or more? Things for general bugging-in for any shtf situation.
What is the best kind of food to store? What is the best way to store water?
What do you have stockpiled to survive for a month of no grocery stores?
My shtf stockpile consists of a revolver with one bullet.

Does it require much understanding (is the plot complex)?
I am not functioning on full capacity atm.
What do you guys think infantry will look like 50-100 years from now? Pic related minus m4.
Well 50-60 years ago this is what they thought infantry would look like
I think thesheer fact that artists can imagine futuristic armor and gear but cant imagine a future rifle to go with it says something about the M4 series rifle.
You dont see much in between M4s and blatently sci-fi pulse rifles on the artwork and movie prop fro t.
OK, now we can continue circle jerking about milsurp firearms collecting.

>Homemade/DIY General
How about we design a simple occupation type manufactured rifle? Something anyone can make in their garage when the chinks invade, with only minimal tools.
We could pattern it after Japan's Emergency Rifle they designed in the ending days of WWII.
It's just a simple bolt action receiver fitted to a smoothbore barrel (just a tube/pipe), two piece FCG (trigger and return spring), a four piece bolt (handle, bolt body, striker, and striker spring) and a wooden stock.
Fucking simple, man.
Since it's smooth bore, the pressures are low, thus it doesn't blow up when it fires. It's not as accurate, but it's simple and reliable.

I've always had a fascination with the Childs .22 pistol.
I like the leaf spring crossbow.

Something like this is the easiest, just 2 pipes, an endcap, and a 1D nail. Just slam the smaller 1/2 inch pipe that can shoot 12 gauge into the 1D nail thats welded or fastened to the endcap. Childsplay breh, no tooling at all except for maybe a file to make sure the inner tube slides proper like
