I'm looking for an axe or hatchet that can be used as a weapon but can also chop wood. Something viking looking. I got kicked out of my local camping store for asking this. Anyone know anything good?
>>22879428
What about this?
SOG Voodoo hawk.
You're asking for two different things that are basically two whole different types of axes. Battleaxes and felling axes are different in that a battleaxe would suck at chopping wood, and a felling axe would suck in combat. Battleaxes have very thin heads and not a lot of weight, while felling axes have thick heads and lots of weight.
>>22879428
something like this?
>>22880143
>Battleaxes and felling axes are different in that a battleaxe would suck at chopping wood, and a felling axe would suck in combat.
you realize the reason vikings used axes was not because they were a superior combat weapon but because they were a useful multipurpose tool
>Battleaxes have very thin heads and not a lot of weight, while felling axes have thick heads and lots of weight.
felling axes are much thinner and lighter than splitting axes, and this was especially true in the viking age
Why don't we attach musicians to combat arms sections?
>section comes under attack during a patrol
>everyone drops prone or scrambles for cover, making a couple of snap shots along the way
>the enemy is seen
>the arcs are formed
>the order to fire is given
>the shocking cacophony of "slow" fire among a dozen and a half people is only overpowered by the wailing of strings

Dammit /k/, which one of you is this.
I love seeing Nuggets and other slavshit turning up in events like this.
>no bayonet
Not from /k/
/k/. When will the military field exoskeletons to soldiers and is there any heavily armored units in the military?
front lines? maybe in 500 years or so
>>22853973
>heavily armored units
yes
tanks
>>22854020
>front lines? maybe in 500 years or so
Im gonna say <100
I sort of picture them being used in logistical support roles, like heavy lifting and engineering tasks. Not really in combat.
Here is the situation /k/, you wake up tomorrow and are a 6 year old loli in a city (lets say Denver) with 30 people who are looking for you and want to rape and kill you. They are untrained, have split up to look for you (but if they see you they will call their friends and notify them of their location because they like to share), and are armed with a variety of weapons but will want to capture you alive so they won't use their weapons right away. The police do not care about your and will not respond to your calls. You will be given any equipment or weapons that you request and that you are capable of wielding/carrying to fend them off, laws still apply however and doing anything openly illegal will get you thrown in jail where you get raped and murdered (for example, any weapons that you carry must be concealed and you can't be blatantly printing), you are also given a bicycle, a small backpack, and money for food. You must survive for seven days. What weapons do you choose and what would your strategy for surviving be?

So, earlier, /k/ took pictures of their guns with Brit flags in the background and trolled the UK press with them. In another thread earlier, someone suggested following that up with a thing to freak out ISIS.
The idea was that we should masquerade as a reactionary Militant Christian Group.
>Get a Templar Flag
>Get a Bible, preferably the huge catholic one.
>Gear up
>Take a picture of you geared up standing
BONUS PROPS
>Crucifix with the bloody christ.
>An altar with religious icons. I heard Muslims find Catholic Sculptures creepy.
>Candles all over the place.
EXTRA CREDIT!
>Grab pals
>Wear tacticool shit with christian heraldry.
>Get a Videocam.
>Pretend to do military drills, maneuvers.
>Get an authoritative figure to speak in front of Camera, with religious props behind him.
>Declare a crusade against ISIS, that the day of retribution for the lost Christian souls is upon them. That the shepherd protects his flock.
>You know how ISIS uses them Nasheeds music in their vids? Play gregorian chants/music in the video.
>???
>Watch the firestorm or at least one of you killed for revenge.
Do you guys think this is worth pursuing further? It looks like the strawpoll from that previous thread suggested overwhelming enthusiasm for the Templar idea: http://strawpoll.me/2580699/r
>>22854651
Still won't even come close to the backhand that the pic of those two women who squatted over an ISIS flag and then dropped a shit and period blood onto it did.
>>22854651
Question. When we dress up for tactically operating in tactical operator videos, do we have to put together a full Templar costume complete with chainmail, or can we just stick a Templar patch onto any old set of BDUs we might have, then throw a harness on top of it?
>>22854666
Americans are the only ones who treat flags like some sacred garment god himself uses to wipe with. I doubt anyone in the IS gave a shit about what you described

Is Russian military over rated?
They invaded Ukraine and Ukraine is still there, BBC have news of massive Russia tanks groups into Ukraine but Ukraine is still there! Is Russian doctrine of mass tanks not a good tactics against Ukraine Air Force and Infantry battalions of anti tank weapons? I heard Azov battalion received many volunteers from foreigners. Did foreigners train Azov to be powerful against masses of Russian tanks?
inb4 /pol/, I just want to know weapons tactics and why Russia tactics were embarassing destroyed by Ukrainian tactics with help from USA volunteers.
>>22841841
wtf are you even on about?
Dude, russian involvement does not equal RUSSIAN INVASION
Generally, they are not directly involved in the front. Ever.
>>22841841
Because Russia can't bring their full might down on Ukraine without being completely and utterly shit on by the rest of the world.
All shilling aside, that's the simple fact of the matter. If Russia openly invaded Ukraine and was willing to deal with the consequences, they'd roll over them, as Putin said, in a couple of weeks at most.
3/10
Do some actual research at least. They didn't invade Ukraine, they're just "casually" leaving "stranded vehicles" that "by chance" went on the wrong side of the border.
Alright, I know there are nogunz liberals lurking here, and it's time for you to come out of the woodworks and seriously explain to me why pistol grips, flash suppressors, muzzle brakes, collapsing/folding stocks, bayonet lugs, and large magazines need to be banned.
As far as I know, rifles are involved in a statistically negligible number of firearms deaths.
While we're at it, you can explain how extensive background checks, fingerprinting, and a federal registry aren't enough to be allowed to obtain NFA items. Or why full auto produced after 1986 are any worse than other full autos. Or why suppressors need to be NFA when they aren't anywhere near as silent as the hollywood assassination machines.
You can also explain why people who are cleared via self defense shouldn't be granted immunity from civil lawsuit, or why self defense shouldn't apply outside one's home, or why protecting one's property shouldn't also apply under castle doctrine.
Also, you can explain to me why conceal carry shouldn't be shall-issue? Why should the government be allowed to decide that a law-abiding citizen willing to go through classes and training doesn't really need the ability to defend himself?
Why don't you explain why even if you don't think these things should be as available as a fudd rifle, why they should be outright banned instead of regulated similarly to the NFA (that is, taxed and registered, but not banned)?
Why don't you just wake up to the fact that there's a much stronger correlation between violent crime and the proportion of blacks and hispanics in a state than between gun ownership or gun laws and violent crime? Why is this point so often ignored?
In fact, why would banning guns on college campuses be a better idea than letting ccw holders carry on campus? Wouldn't someone intent on bringing a gun to pull off VT 2: Cho Seung Boogaloo do so regardless its legality?
Come at me, liberals. I am ready.

>Mfw many people on /k/ hate expensive guns because they can't afford them.
Just admit it, it's all about you guys being Nugget owning poorfags that can't spend more than a couple of hundred on a new gun.
That's why anytime someone mentions a Sphinx or a HK, you get a ton of poorfags criticizing the price.
HK are great guns, but ive heard enough stories of their horrible customer disservice to stay away.
Not even poorfag. None of my guns are under $1,000 and are mostly top tier manufacturers.
But I think HK are just overpriced and poorly serviced.
HK: because you suck and we hate you
>>22814422
>any legitimate reason to buy a gun for over 1000 when guns under 800 exist for just as much value and quality.

400 Greek hoplites vs 400 Vikings
All with their standard equipment
Standard formations and tactics of their time.
30 archers on each side
Battlefield is a level grassy field with few hills
vikings werent formation fighters
the germanic tribes were all very prideful and loved singling out oponents and fighting one on one
I love the vikings and I hate to say it but the Greeks were far more structured and trained
The terrain favors the Greeks fighting tactics massively.
The Vikings fighting style is not compatible with Greek.
It's like comparing katanas and broadswords.
>>22813787
> bronze plate vs chain-mail
eh. given so few archers, I'd say chain is better
> bronze weapons vs iron and steel
no fucking contest, hoplites' sidearm is practically useless
> mongo spears vs swords and axes
hmm... could go either way
> fanatic discipline vs individual prowess
welp. guess the Hoplites win, by a cunthair
