The Armee de l'Air doesn't release op videos that often, so it's kind of a treat.
>>27911151
where are they taking off from? incirlik?
>>27911706
Jordan or UAE.
The US should give some F35s to ISIS and use the results as a war game.
can we have a compact/ subcompact handgun thread?

Yup, great country I live in.
Can I get an ID on this optic?
Looks like a section of piping to me. Why the hexagonal ends? is i just a peep sight with an adjustable aperture?
I hate starting new threads over stupid shit like this but I have searched the text and translated until I was blue in the face. Author was by Dave Merrill from BreachBangClear/MilCopp Tactical
Here's the only other pic I have of it
Thanks in advance to any replies

It's a Single Point OEG (or a close copy). Really old, Vietnam era red dot design.
The photo, with it's puesdo-septa filter, GI flashlight, ALICE pouch, bolted on A1 grip and A1-ish stock, and straight mag is obviously trying to evoke a Vietnam era-ish look.
Ok so here is the deal, I want to know if it is LEGAL to own an;
AR pistol with a Sig Brace WITHOUT a bullet button?
As far as I know, a bullet button is only required on Rifles not pistols.
ANSWER MY QUESTION!!!!!
>>27910945
No. Unfortunately its the 'detachable magazine' that would make it an assault weapon according to the law.
However, if you build an 80% lower, stamp the word 'pistol' on it, along with a made up serial number, build it to your specs you should be fine.
As for the bullet button, get one of these:
http://ar-magmagnet.com/c-325311-mag-magnet-bullet-button.html
It fits the letter of the law, but offers the exact functionality you want.

>detachable magazine
My Glock has a detachable magazine, what kind of bullshit is this???
Why didn't the Star Wars Galaxy ever develop projectile weapons?
They did though
they did but lasers were more abundant because of some ancient manufacturing race or some shit I think
Projectiles would have been unable to pierce the plot armor

If you're on mobile look up AndroIRC for the app. Any questions, ask in the thread to get you set up.

Ask questions, answer questions, bitch about Air Force recruiters. Just keep it contained to this general.
Does it hurt your future chances if you back out of an OCS application?
I wanted to try Grad School and do ROTC there.
This is for Marines btw
Going in for asvab today, any tips?

How'd you do on your SAT
Good evening, /k/, I'm not sure it deserves its own thread, but I felt like sharing this small video of our latest strike against ISIS.
Footage of stuff getting blown up to smithereens is always relevant.

Apply dots where necessary.
Pic is unrelated eye candy. Plus my fucking finger.
Hey frenchfag, I'm sure the VBCI does fine in open flat terrain
But what about outside that? Mountainous rocky terrain, wet boggy terrain?
I just have doubts about moving to an all wheeled armored vehicle philosophy, and making them as heavy as they're getting with up to 32t distributed across 8x8 wheels

I tried to answer that but I was too late !

I'll add that it behave well in Afghanistan, though it suffered at first because they up-armoured it without haveing strengthened the suspensions. It's fine now.
In general, I'm more of a tracks guy, so...
>>27910609
Afghanistan is still pretty flat and solid
What can we, collectively as a board, do to help fight ISIS?
Nothing.

Bonus round. Let's get some literature in here as well, what are you reading?

yet here we are.

Challenge accepted.
What does /k/ think of the 7x57mm round? Is it worth buying a Mauser in 7mm or should I buy one in 8mm? I live in NYC and I can only buy antique firearms.
My options in terms of Mausers are the 1891 Argentine, 1893 Spanish, and various other G88 and G98 import variants.
I also like that these guns can be had off of gunbroker for only $200-300.
Thoughts?
>>27910339
There is no more surplus 7x57. So if cost is a concern I'd advise against it, unless you reload.
That aside, it's the most popular of the 7mm cartridges and probably the best Mauser cartridge around. It's a popular sporting load and relatively easy to find even in most big box gun stores. I'd pick one over a 8mm Mauser any day.
>>27910339
how were you able to get a permit
>>27910382
Don't need a permit if it's an antique, like I said.
>>27910381
Thank you. Cost isn't really an issue as I wouldn't be able to shoot it very often. I'd probably buy a 20 rnd box of PPU and it'd last a year or more.
Its like poetry :3

>>27910242
1. I saw that on reddit too
2. Thats NOT a peregrine falcon
Whats the best place to buy K98s that are in shooting condition?
What are they worth anymore? I've seen a few on racks before around $300 but looking at listings they seem to be alot higher
>>27910011
Mitchell's Mausers. Even though they like to say that they're original/unissued they just refurbish them. Other than that, they're great shooters.
>>27910103
That's not a real k98
Just look for a RC in good condition

tech sights done
Unless you plan on using a red dot or scope do not get the straight version. I have one and the length of pull is good for me at 6'1" but your sight picture is uncomfortable to achieve without an optic. Get the slanted version unless you want an optic.
>>27909938
I have a red dot, so I'm getting the straight stock version
