There's nothing on the 4473 that would prevent someone on a watch list from buying a gun.

And it probably wouldn't show up on a background check either.

But I'm curious, what law am I supposed to be against?

Why are so many countries building large aircraft carriers now? Britain, China and India are all building their own. Why? Is it because they foresee the need to fight aggressively for dwindling resources? Is it a bad sign? Whose carriers will be the best (after the US of course)? Why isn't Russia building them? Aren't they increasingly vulnerable to submarines and missiles now?

For China, it is the wish to create a base for power-projection. You have to start somewhere, and you will only have an useful carrier-capability with at least 3 carriers.

They wont be that militarily relevant in any great power war, but they could do some damage against smaller enemy states. And in support with ASBM and land-based assets, even their fewer and medium-sized carriers would add some badly needed firepower and ASW protection for their naval assets in confronting the USN, especially when keeping close to home waters.

>Why are so many countries building large aircraft carriers now?

For Brits it's because they're recognizing they need to get back in the game. China is trying to expand their influence while India is trying to counter-balance China.

>Whose carriers will be the best (after the US of course)?

We don't really know anything about the new China one yet. If it's just a Liaoning clone it'll be a bit of a disappointment, but not bad for an expanding nation.

The Vikrant looks good on paper but it's rather small. The Mig-29K looks good, but it's lacking some of the support aircraft that carriers should try and employ. Also lol-India.

The QE is probably the most ambitious. Whether or not you consider it the best probably depends on whether or not you're optimistic about the F-35B. I am so i'm behind it, if you don't, well, a carrier needs to be judged by it's aircraft.

>Why isn't Russia building them?

No money, and they've lost the expertise to do it.

>Aren't they increasingly vulnerable to submarines and missiles now?

This is why you build better escorts.

It's important to remember that none of these nations are aiming to tangle with an American CBG with their own CBG (especially Britain for obvious reasons). American carriers enjoy too many advantages, not just in terms of number of aircraft but also in terms of support aircraft like Growlers, Hawkeyes, and Greyhounds.

quick question, how do they get the carrier in the water once done? do they get rid of the platform surrounding it?

How does /k/ feel about the Izhmash//Saiga AK-74s?

It seems to have everything one would want in an AK;
-Hammer forged/chrome lined barrel
-Stamped receiver
-Adjustable front and rear sights

Any word on the 7N6 ban being repealed?

I have been looking for an AK-74 that hadn't been fucked by DDI/WW, and I think I found one.

Anyone have one of these? Did siaga make good rifles?

You must be new here.

Even though they're still good, there was a time when Arsenal was pretty much the top of e line for AKs. Back when they had the SGL series that were basically professionally converted SAIGA rifles. Which are manufactured in the same factory as military rifles in Russia.

So yes, as a base rifle, they are some of the best. How good of a converted AK it is depends on who's doing it. And ever since the sanctions were placed on Russia, they have not been imported. So the price has shot up.
>>
>>27921609
Saiga's are good shit. 7N6 (hurr durr us ar fags will get it back after green dick ammo is saved) isn't coming back, but 5.45 is still cheap and good.

So i'm a frenchfag, JTAC in the army. I'm pretty pissed that our pussy ass government is not going to press for a NATO coalition and send troops in the middle east.

Also since France is now under state of emergency laws I'm fearing some gun grabbing in the next few months.

thoughts?

Are steroids popular in the armed forces? And for what reason?

Pic related is a former Royal Marine and although I can't be certain I'm pretty sure there's some roids there.

yea 1/6 (marine infantry unit) was geared up throughout their entire MEU and in Djibouti and I know it gets around in small circles within the military. who cares m8

Would the Ghadir class submarine actually be effective against the United States Navy or are these just Iranian shills doing there usual shilling?

It's based on North Korean technology, so I wouldn't be optimistic.

Of course! We'd be doomed!!

You know militaries keep secrets and true capabilities of submarines are almost always classified.

Look! It only has 6 sailors! It's obviously a highly advanced submarine with mostly automated systems.

The Growler is fairly unique as a carrier-based fighter that's been modified into a radically different purpose.

Would other carrier-based fighters (such as the F-35B, Rafale M, J-15, Su-33, and Mig-29K), be suitable for this kind of role?
11 posts and 1 images submitted.
>>
>>27921142

The F-35B is a definite no because it is comparatively limited range, but the others would work just fine.

So apparently this raid went on for 7 hours and they went through 5000 rounds of ammunition and explosives.

Can someone explain to me why the fuck it took that long and that much ammo and ordinance to fight less than 10 people and to only kill one or two?

.44 magnum from a Ruger Redhawk. Strongest revolver frame there is, you can shoot loads as hot as you want, pretty much.

You can CC it, OC with style, home defense like a boss, and you can even hunt with it... AND put a scope on it.

Plus you can get a .44 magnum lever gun and have a rifle and pistol with matching calibers.

.45 Colt can do the same thing, though.... Plus you can get a Ruger chambered in .454, and shoot both from it while getting a .45 Colt lever gun.

Both of those can achieve amazing power levels from rifles and strong revolvers. You can literally hunt a grizzly with those revolvers, too.

Check out the glock 20

I have milled out 3 80% AR's without a problem but Im a bit concerned with the ATF regulations on UZI parts kits since the were originally full autos. EX. welding a block so the selector cant go into the auto selection, not using a full out dust cover wtf? and on and on. I found a parts kit for $130, serialized new upper $100, and a 16' barrel for 150. So im only looking at 380 in parts. Should I go for it /k/ or is it safer to just buy a complete one?
