Are Army engineers POGs? What kind of operating do Sappers get to do? Whatt kind of stuff does a Sapper officer do?
>>27932710
>>27932710
They take down sentries.
>>27932710
He saps.
And it doesn't matter "Is it POG or not", everyone has a fucking job that they have to do, and unless your MOS is 11T Toilet Maintenance Professional, your job is likely critical to the success of a mission.
This post is for sharing info on the upcoming NATO meeting discussing declaring war on ISIS
>>27932702
What are they going to do? bomb more stuff, kill more civilians and fail just like Afghanistan?
This shit wouldn't happen if the western nations just mind their own business, but they'll never learn.
NATO is meeting because France wants to start war with ISIS....ISIS is not a country so NATO is looking at Syria.... IF Russia does not agree there my be WW3..... Whats your thoughts
Was thinking of starting a thread about this myself actually, since while relatively speaking 9/11 was still worse, this is still a horrendous attack against innocent French citizens, and invoking Article 5 wouldn't be out of the question.
Though after doing a quick google search on the subject earlier, it doesn't seem all that likely to happen (and apparently not necessary either).
http://ipolitics.ca/2015/11/17/france-wont-invoke-natos-article-5-the-reason-is-russia/
>inb4 ipolitics are shit, I don't usually get my news from online
I'm very lucky to have an excellent independently owned newspaper in my city, with a centrist political bias.
/k/, I know nothing about weapons but it interests me. Where's a good place to start?
Good question, I don't have a great answer. All I can think of is just spend time around any friends or family that own guns to start.
>>27932757
Sorry, my family hates weapons and would think I was a sociopath if I mentioned buying even a pocket knife.
>>27932696
basically, you want hands-on experience
reading shit online is "ok" for some basics, but you'll probably end up spewing bullshit and getting slammed often because you'll believe anything you hear because you don't actually have experience
>tfw UK gun laws
help us change it then, post this around
https://petition.parliament.uk/petitions/105167
>tfw UK gun laws
>>27932685
I think you mean British there is a difference
>>27932703
Done and done.
I'll spread this petition about as much as I can.
>>27932726
Sorry NI broski
So, any of you guys know anything about this gent here?
I've heard a fair bit of stuff about him, but to be honest, it sounds like fucking fairy tales to me. Things like over 1500 ISIL kills, IS not allowing his name to be even muttered, Angel Of Death as a nickname etc. etc.
Is any of this real at all, Overhyped(?) or just outright nonsense?
>>27932624
>what is war propaganda
>>27932641
Just curious, I hear my friends go on and on about him, would be nice to know the truth.
>>27932662
truth is propaganda is real
What can be done to win support for our rights in light of recent events?
Here's a petition that has gone up a thousand signatures since the Paris attacks. Fuds are saying it'll make 'legitimate' fud gun ownership look bad. Therefore we should bump it up a few thousand signatures to stick it to them. Americans welcome!

If I were a Bong I'd sign. However I'm not a British Citizen; I shouldn't get a vote there. Also if I were to do so, It'd be hypocritical, since I'm always telling foreignfags to stop providing pretentious commentary on American culture and domestic policies.
Mike Yardley (basically the media representative of UK gun ownership) came out in support of the EU ban on all semi-automatic and 'look-a-like' firearms in the EU.
We need to ditch these bastards that got us into this situation in the first place. The alternative to 'extreme views' is this cunt.
English Shooting has just posted a video calling for armed self-defence.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ITMpsMw6-Rk
I've observed that the Paris attacks have caused a backlash against gun restrictions in Europe. There could be hope afterall.
Saw this on my feed and thought of y'all
Let's get a good weapons related /K/ringe thread going.
>Florida Gun Classifieds is proud to be the first to offer the ultimate, supreme and crazy mofo please-don't-hurt-me ISIS ANNOYING PACKAGES!
>The Ultimate includes:

Do people buy this shit?
>>27932458
>i need to get rid of all these overpriced .22 magnums
>guess ill sell them with my overpriced waffle AR's
Good-Cop, Bad-Cop is probably the most famous interrogation technique. But how effective is it in real life?
hollywood really dramatizes it, but it works pretty well. one guy lists off all the charges and comes on really strong with threats of consecutive sentencing and fines and shit, then the other guy is willing to cut a deal. it makes squealing for the deal seem like the best way to go. oh and its never done with both of the cops in the same room. thats just stupid.
>>27932351
Always works better if you pick up two perps. You might think to yourself you won't crack but the other guy? That suspicion leads to conviction.
>>27932351
still works really well
they more commonly use an interviewing officer as a good cop, and various administration and escort police as bad cops
everyone talks to the police, they think they will get a more lenient sentence, can't handle the pressure, falls of the moral arguments like "you can do the right thing now by confessing", also 80% of people in a police cell are guilty of an easily provable offense
people still don't get lawyers, I've never understood why
other techniques the police employ with great success
1. threatening to ask everyone the person knows about the crime, humiliating them
2. making the suspect think they will be ratted out
3. pretening they have evidence when they don't
4. keeping constant preassure on the suspect, their aim is for the suspect to speak without thinking, to which end they will ask anything that they think will get an instant response
What sort of sights do you prefer, /k/?
Three dot? Novak? Glock brand ball and basket?
>>27932175
Three dot.
Fast and easy to retain accuracy past 25 yards.
>>27932187
How do you feel about painting your dots for more contrast, or making the front post a different color than the back posts?
>>27932175
For carry, Trijicon HD's with the high viz orange front sight, low viz rear.
I have a M305 (m14) thats norinco stronk.
I bought a cheap millet mount for it awhile ago, but it always seems stovepipe with it.
Would changing the springs to GI springs have any effect?
Or should I just buy a decent scope mount?
Is there any decent scope mount that I can still use the iron sights with at 100 yards or less? Dont really want to replace the iron sights but if theres nothing else then I will.
Pic somewhat related (not my gun or mount but close enough)
>>27932654
meant to post this too
>>27932173
>I bought a cheap millet mount for it awhile ago, but it always seems stovepipe with it.
In the action or like pic related? If it's in the action, I really doubt it's the mount but it COULD be.
>Would changing the springs to GI springs have any effect?
Not enough to fix this, but the gun will likely run a little better.
>Or should I just buy a decent scope mount?
Yes
>Is there any decent scope mount that I can still use the iron sights with at 100 yards or less?
The one from Springfield Armory, Smith Enterprises, and I think Larue makes a couple.
>>27932717
Yeah the brass is almost like the picture in the op,
I'll look into the mount you mentioned, m14.ca has some to but they mostly seem to be recon or they replace the iron sights
/k/
Was hoping you could help. My guy is into military history and ive been trying to figure out what I want to get him for Christmas.
I already picked out a piece of trench/shell art, awesome book siers from ww1 and a civil war best buckle anyone have any suggestions for somthing height like?
I was thinking of a scale tank either ww1 or 2 airsoft style for him to just have fun with.
>>27932023
A WW1 rifle like a Steyr m95. They're pretty inexpensive I believe.
>>27932023
Get him a US WWII M1 helmet. He will love you. The $150 is worth every penny for the historical value, and it'll be a family heirloom. That's what the M1 that my grandfather gave to me for my 10th birthday gift will become. I anticipate a child to hand it and the rest of my collection down to when I'm too old to keep the dust off of it.
(The helmet on the sleeping bag).
You can probably find a decent condition one on Ebay for 100 or lower is you play right. Alternatively, I've seen some originals going for about 100 at brick and mortar surplus stores. I'd check your area for stores and then call up and ask them if they have any on hand.
If you don't mind having a "bastardized" one, per say, check out the US headgear section on atthefront .com. They take original helmets and refurbish them, and sell them at a cheaper price than untouched originals if I'm not mistaken.
PS; be sure you are buying the liner with the steel shell.
>>27932106
>>27932140
Sweet ill look into this money isent really an issue ive been eyeballing an original puckelhaube for 450.
What are gun rights like in Israel? Are they harsher or more free than in the US?
>>27931920
I mean in practical terms, not what's written down on paper.
>>27931920
They are shit. Most people you see OC'ing in the streets are soldiers on their way home for weekend leave.
>>27931920
They are complete shit.
You want real gun rights, move to Iraqi or Afghanistan.
Im stuck in MD which is a MAY ISSUE state, we have to have a good reason to get a CCW, and self defense doesnt count unless you have a gang threat against you.
So in light of recent events, I am considering carrying without a permit.
Should I? Whats likely to happen if I get caught?
Don't do it
I did in Kansas for about 6 months. I haven't had a run in with the law in almost 10 years though.
I imagine if you keep a level head nobody will ever know.
>>27931929
Thats what Im thinking....but I work armed security and would be fired if O got arrested n a gun charge.
>Have permit to wear and carry at work
>cant carry outside of work
What does /k/ think about the P90 OT-14
>>27931646
I'm really not sure how I feel about this.
The mag definitely looks ugly and doesn't fit with the aesthetic of the rifle.
>>27931646
Gas piston wont work in that position.
>>27931663
Blowback operation? This is not really a thing is it?
Released: Hi quality pictures of various props for SW VII: The Force Awakens
