So, these planes are pretty sweet, am I right? I just love the look of the exterior of them, although no doubt, being Soviet Tech, the inside of them probably looks like the engine control panel of a 1960's era container ship, painted blue.

Anyway, I'm told that currently the Russians are flying their TU-160 Blackjack bombers out on a long range missions from Olenegorsk airbase. They're routed along the coast of Norway, UK, Atlantic Ocean, Gibraltar then down into the Med to launch cruise missiles against targets in Syria.

Hell of a flight. Those crews are getting a fair bit of training in that's for sure.

They're pretty modern as far as Soviet aviation and avionics went.

And Russian training already simulated such missions before, except now it's live.
>>
What is the benefit of this as opposed to just launching cruise missiles from the Caspian or the med? Dick waving?

Innawoods- 20 second alert early morning home invasion edition.

Home invaders are right NOW sledging at your front door and will breach in less than 20 seconds- You have that time to ready yourself to repel them with what you have available around you within 10-15 feet.

Lets talk anti-aircraft weaponry. Flak cannons, guns, and missiles are all welcome.

For starters, the recent deployment of the S-400 to Syria has gotten me curious: Is the S-400 really the death-dealing stealth-detecting destroyer of airforces that everyone plays it out to be?

No, it's a evolutionary upgrade of the decades old S-300 system.

>Is the S-400 really the death-dealing stealth-detecting destroyer of airforces that everyone plays it out to be?

No, but its highly potent. The Israeli's have been pressuring the Russians not to deploy S-300's to its allies in the Middle East for years, stating point blank they will put destroy any that are deployed. The S-400 is a better iteration of that package.

I'd be more worried what Israel does once an S-400 goes online in Syria, given their past statements warning Russia not to deploy its lesser iteration to the Middle East. for example, an S-400 in Damascus could intercept any planes taking off from Tel-Aviv in about 55 seconds. That's highly provocative.

I mean fuck Turkey, who cares about them?

Israel now has to either back down on its previous claims (which they wont do under Netanyahu, as his voter base is right wing Nationalists and Religious nuts) or they have to go and destroy one of Russias S-400 sites.

That's the real story about the S-400, fucked if I know why no-ones talking about it.

Regarding the S-400 system itself, it seems to be a decent thing on paper, but its yet to prove its worth.

Does buying a .44 Desert Eagle and not the .50 AE make you a bitch?

You'd think so, but the fireball is still pretty impressive.

To me, getting a deagle in anything but .50AE is going around what made the deagle special to begin with but it doesn't make you a bitch.

I'm a total loser and don't know shit about guns. I recently moved out my parent's home and going to move to Colorado. Due to Colorado's murder rate I want to protect myself, here's my ideal gun.
>Pistol (easy to carry and I only shot this type in my life)
>Don't care much about caliber, but I want to cause as little damage to my home if I miss my target
>I want it to have a magazine carrying at least 8 bullets
>I want it to weigh less than 10 pounds
Suggestions?

What kind of elephantitus of the hands do you have that normal gloves make it impossible to reload your weapon? Difficult to manipulate the controls or get your finger in the trigger guard I can see but reload? I don't see the math. If you mean like loading rounds into an empty magazine, buy more magazines.

If I own an MOA factory fudd-looking rifle, does that make it 'precision'? Or does it have to have the bull barrel and bipod and what have you?

For a TRUE precision rifle, I'd stick with at least a bull barrel; but you can get great groups with thinner sporter contour barrels--they just heat up and open up their groups a lot faster at the range.

Hitler and Nazi Germany was in a serious predicament in 1940/1941: although a non-aggression pact had been signed with the Soviets, both sides knew the other wasn't going to honor it. Germany and Russia are preparing for war, but Russia has a much larger industrial base than Germany. So for every year that Germany waits to build forces, the Russians build even more forces. Germany becomes proportionately weaker than Russia the longer she waits.

Because it's a tiny cartridge that doesn't even deliver 100 ft/lb. .32 ACP is significantly better for a pocket gun

I did an exercise today in radio traffic time logs. For a solid four hours I kept as good a record of the Colorado Springs LEO radio traffic during the active shooter situation. I wanted to see how it was to take accurate notes under pressure, and there was so much I didn't get due to overlapping or garbled transmissions. I marked the local times, the callsign of the sender when possible or a generalization of what was said when I couldn't as well as short thoughts in parentheses. I also made it more difficult by having a fox news feed on at the same time and also making occasional notes on events brought up there.

I had no idea how grueling it could be for a military GHFCS operator to work in a high stress situation like that during an incident. Hats off to everyone out there who does that for a living.

Last thoughts: I was impressed and simuultaniously appalled at the glaring breach in OPSEC of broadcasting SWAT, TOC, and even Sniper comms unencrypted and over a public SDR site like Broadcastify. Fox news made an even larger flub- showing a team of SWAT team members hauling ass to the building in a wide enough shot for someone familiar with the area to recognize. If the shooter had a tv turned to the news in there or a mobile phone with the broadcastify app going- things could have gone a LOT differently.
