>silver is slightly less dense than lead
>harder than lead but less hard than copper: still accepts rifling.
>not so hard that it is considered "armor piercing" by law
Don't these factors make silver an excellent metal for hunting bullets? It performs similarly to conventional bullets but you're not poisoning your meat with cancer-causing lead which is more likely to fragment and get everywhere.
Prohibitive cost
silver is expensive as fuck, enjoy your 5$+per round

How effective would this mag be in a chimp out type shtf scenario?
>>28052256
How much does it hold?
It'd give you +2 dmg and a 3d6 saves
>>28052256
Is it like national holiday in Australia or is school cancelled or something? What's with all the shitposting?
Classmate of mine just got her tribe money and wants to get a real semi-auto rifle. She has had an old 20ga and LCP her dad gave her for home defense, but she says she wants to step up and get something like an AR.
She's pretty average size for a girl, shorter arms and about 5'7", and she wanted something to start with iron sights and hone the fundamentals of riflemanship, so I figured a true blue (sans F/A) XM16A1 build, since the shorter A1 stock would probably fit her length of pull better. What does /k/ think?
Complete parts list from Fulton and AR Sport + PSA lpk before a stripped lower comes out to be ~$715, which is perfectly good sounding to her, budget wise.
>>28052084
holy fuck you autist why the fuck would you just use a collapsible stock? you damn well she didnt say a fucking think about honing her skills and iron sights. youre just projecting your /k/ noob may mays onto her
>>28052084
*XM16E1, whoops.
>>28052084
>tribe money
are you native american/5 nations?
My steyr s9a1 won't eject an unfired bullet or car without the mag in and will not chamber a round if I open the slide and drop the round into the chamber.
Why? My glock does all these things. I don't understand.
Different extractor design... Running over a cartridge probably isn't the best for normal spring type extractor... Slide the cartridge up the breech face and under the extractor before releasing the slide.
>>28051895
my steyr does all those things just fine.

I don't understand mate
Talk me out of liking dissipators.

Has anyone else been kicked out of a range for placing shots too quickly or is this just a British thing?

A rather odd result from a wargame I was playing last evening has prompted me to ask:
How long would the Japanese Carrier Akagi have held up to 8 inch guns from a pair of New Orleans class cruisers? What, if anything could it have done to defend itself if it didn't launch planes until it was already under attack?
>>28051719
Of all carriers in ww2 it would probably be one of the better ones off, it was built on an old battlecrusier hull and retained I think 8 7.9in guns in casements.
But the only real chance it would have would be to run away asap, have all its destroyers charge the crusiers and try and get some planes in the air. Without a seriously armoured flight deck, even a single hit could fuck it up
>>28051786
Actually it had all of its antiship armament removed - the biggest guns it carried were 25mm guns.
A more interesting scenario would be seeing Lexington or Saratoga get into a gun battle with a cruiser.
>>28051942
That'd be just as ugly, could be over in the first salvo depending on shot placement

Got a hand guard/ rail with some sharp corners. I don't want to mess up the anodizing too bad, but should I try fine sand paper, Emory cloth, scotch brite? A file?
>>28051649
>being this retarded
anodizing is the surface there is no saving it, youll have to touch it up after wards. a finishing file should be fine
Rail covers, or you'll be fucking up the finish
What do I touch it up with? A sharpie? A crayon? Rust oleum? Mascara?
I guess it doesn't need to be sanded very deeply, just the sharp edges. It's like holding a cheese grater
Beretta 92fs for 650 dollars. yes or no? can i do better?
What are some good steel full size pistols?
Good gun, find it used and pay much less.
If by steel you mean aluminum.

Try like $500 out the door
Buyer's Assistance Thread
Just an idea to help each other out with purchases on things we want, but don't necessarily know a lot about.
In this case an AK74 found on armslist- pic related. The guy wants $950. Is it worth it /k/? I want an AK model rifle really badly.
http://www.armslist.com/posts/4903767/massachusetts-rifles-for-sale--romanian-sar-2-ak74-with-mags--ammo
>>28051614
Depends, are you in MA?
Sar 2's are unicorn rifles in my experience, and usually come with some trigger slap and sometimes canted sights, ask the guy about either of those but remember 98 % of people on armslist are compulsive liars.
For that price I'd rather get an Arsenal SLR-104FR.
>>28051644
agreed, I've heard good things about wasr ak74s, but that's too close to the pricepoint where you get a legit ak-74 front sight base/brake and folder stock
/k/omrades I need help.
We're doing practice qualifications at the police Academy today.
My groupings turn to shit at 15-25 yards. I keep shooting low and to the left, until eventually at 25 yards I'm lucky to get it in the target area.
How do I fix this asap? I have a 45 usp but it's obviously something I'm doing wrong and probably not the gun.
>>28051480
Anticipating recoil or squeezing too hard.
Does your dept issue you that USP with a heavy ass police trigger or is it your personal piece?
>>28051589
Issued, I hate the thing. It's too big for my hands. And I'm the special snowflake who needs .45 ammo at the Academy.
>>28051630
Yeah you're gonna have to keep practicing then. Most dept. guns seems to have a fuckhueg pull and it's making your groups suck. Just keep practicing as much as you can.
So, /k/, I once read an opinion here that America was actually relatively close to winning in 'Nam, but the media shitstorm and anti-war movement caused a premature retreat from SE Asia.
It went along the lines that the Tet Offensive was a desperate final move by the North Vietnamese forces after guerrilla tactics depleted Viet Cong manpower.
Is there any validity to this? How much longer would it have taken if we didn't bitch out? How would it have changed the world stage?
Utter bullshit. The war was at a stalemate for years, blaming it on pressure at home was a convenient excuse to withdraw troops and abandon South Vietnam.
More or less correct. But don't argue that >we still won vietnam
>>28051475
Why do that if we'd already sunk such a great cost (capital and human life) into the war? Especially if that would hurt U.S. image abroad.
>>28051482
I wouldn't, but i do think things are a lot more complicated than durrrrr murica lost vietnam, nixon was a retard
Any TNPers here?
God I hope not

I like nutnfancy. Yes, some of his ideas are a bit goofy, but he takes the longest time testing a firearm out of any other gun reviewer before making a video and I can appreciate that.
I wonder what other gun Youtubers think of him.
I go to basic training in two months
what are the chances of my girlfriend dear johning me?
I'm enlisted as a nuke if that matters
You'll probably kill yourself, especially after finding your gf taking Jamal's bbc
Dump her, fuck her friend.
She'll love you more than ever.
Nukes are the strangest most autistic fucks....you'll probably fail and end up a BM.
