If you know a lot about gun or are just good with them you are automatically suspected to being ex military or law enforcement.

The Kraken awakes from its 500-year slumber and procedures to ravage global shipping. How do we stop it?

I fly F/A-18 Super Hornets for the US Navy.
Let's talk about aviation. If you have questions about being an officer, military aviation, etc, ask away. I can't answer any questions that might reveal my identity like callsign, squadron, etc; nor can I answer questions about things like tactics or other things that might be classified.
Also the recaptcha is being a bitch tonight

Please remind all the new pilots to throttle back when they pull out of the line. Its not fun having oil catch bases flying at you.

ALso I can't bump my own thread, so feel free to bump. I'd appreciate it
How do you take a shit.

Implying it is a/the symbol of the whole army?
Go to bed, sweetheart.
It's really ugly
Thinking of getting a semi automatic pistol tomorrow for target practice and maybe cc at some point. What should i get? Under $500 preferred.
$500 actually gives you quite a few options.
What caliber are you thinking?
>>28094048
Probably 9mm. Really just want something with pretty cheap ammo that won't require much attention/cleaning when i forget.
>>28094067
I'd hate to be that guy but... a Glock does meet that criteria. Just get your hands on one first, you may not like the grip angle.
guess what i got in the mail today :-)
Probably some stupid AR attachment or magazines

>run in to grab burger while buddy gets gas
>still pretty buzzed, ordering my burger
>wallet is in pocket adjacent to gun(large frame)
>can't get wallet out
>in the middle of Mcdonald's, in a busy part of a nice Virginian town
>pull out the fucking gun, place it on counter, retrieve wallet
>cashier looks scared shitless, won't take cash
>alcohol addled mind not making connection
>drop cash
>pick up my food that's ready
>walk out and get in buddies car
Was half way home when the burger soaked up enough booze to realize what I'd just done. At home now, drowning my shame in shots. How bad did I fuck up /k/? Also, share you're related stories.
Did you leave the gun?
Drinking and carrying. Hmmmm
>>28093947
No, I put it back after my wallet. It just didn't click that pulling out a fucking gun in the middle of a restaurant was a bad thing.
Hey which one of you assholes bought an ACOG off of amazon then swapped in a shitty $100 replica when you returned it to amazon?
Because I just got that FAKEcog
thanks guys
Just contact Amazon, don't come and cry here faggot
>>28093819
already printed out the shipping label. still something that i shouldnt have to deal with.
and its lucky it didnt go to some guy who wouldnt havent noticed until it was too late to return it
yeah i heard that is a popular scam to do. it happens with a lot of stuff on amazon
Any of you guys ever thought about or formed a community action type group to combat villainy in your neighborhoods? I'm not talking about militias, but groups that actually go out and confront pedophiles and rapists (just villains in general) about there evil deeds and make the proper moves to get them arrested or move away or just stop what they're doing outright through fear of repercussion. It's just frustrating. Why aren't there groups like this that are trapping and turning over pedophiles and such? I know why I'm not a part of one. Because I can't get anybody motivated to join me and can't find anything like it that already exists. What are your thoughts? Would anybody here be willing to form or join a group like that in their community?
>>28093753
Sounds gay. And illegal probably. Also the fuck does this have to do with /weapons/?
>I'm not talking about militias, but groups that actually go out and confront ... villains in general about there evil deeds
>>28093753
Thats called harassment, and its illegal. Even if the person is a shithead, they still have rights.
Besides, in the past such organizations have attacked random people based on rumor or bad research who didnt do anything wrong and ruined thier reputations and livleyhood.
Vigilantes, despite hollywoods depiction, almost always cause more damage than they fix.
Differences between Inglis Hi Power and Sig 226?
I think I'll be using the Hi Power in two months when I go off to basic. I know the CF issues Hi Power's to mostly everyone except officers and operators.
Is there any chance that infantry are issued Sig's instead? Which is the better pistol and why?
>>28093647
>give Hi-powers to rear echelon guys and fobbits
>give the Sigs to the real niggas who shoot people
I wonder which is better suited to putting holes in baddies.
>>28093697
Well I know the Sig is used worldwide by Seal's and I think CSOR + JTF-2 use them as well. Also heard there's an abundance of these Hi Power's.
I figured if you were infantry, they should be giving you a Sig. Maybe if you're going to be out of harms way all the time then a Hi Power would suffice.
>>28093647
Yu won't even see those at basic, idiot. You'll get a c7 week 5 and that's it. Have fun bear marching
can we get some .410 love up in here?
my first gun was an H&R.410 and i still have it to this day
damn fun little gun and great for home defense
>>28093518
Nice gun, but they wouldn't be my first choice for SD.
My grandfather left me all of his guns. Two of which were .410's both of which I really enjoy. A model 42 Winchester in damn done condition. (I love this gun) and a old break action that my cousin fucked up the finish on the barrel. But .410 is a super fun and fairly practical round. I just wish it was cheaper/more common.
>>28094987
>cheaper
this
i keep getting keked by local ammo suppliers on .410
>11$ for 5 shells
what the FUCK
I think its finally done. I've been mapping bases and last known unit deployments in the Turkey/Syrian conflict zone. I used Open source stuff like globalsecurity.org, militarybases.com, and up to date conflict news. I also included airport codes where applicable.Let me know if a larger resolution is needed or to explain any of the shorthand I used.
Feel free to use as a template for tracking more dynamic events like attacks or troop movements.
>>28093434
Thanks OP. You could also probably fit a key in the Med if you want to.
>>28093484
showing the letter shorthand? The colours are pretty self-explanatory.
Also 300 DPI version
>>28093434
I have no idea what this means but I will appreciate having to have these maps broken down for me like I'm retarded in future ME threads.
How badly will this fuck someone's day up?
>>28093428
Bad
>>28093428
Moderate levels of fuck over.
.357 mag is pretty potent, even with that dated bullet design.
Probably not as bad as full house 10mm loaded with a modern JHP.
>>28093428
A handgun?
It's going poke holes in them, hope you hit vitals.
Handguns fucking suck at killing people unless you get something really vital

>buying anything that's just for fun on credit
Have you considered not being retarded?
sounds like the thought process that ends up putting you in so much debt you end up filing bankruptcy
take it from someone who has been there
you'll never shoot it that much anyway since good ammo is like 5 bucks every pull of the trigger
and since you need to practice to git gud and you can't afford to buy the gun cash and therefore are poor, you'll never afford a decent scope and won't be able to afford to practice enough to use it to its potential
so don't do it
