They gave the ship bell back to Russia even though it was located on an area of the ship that wasn't claimed to be recovered. How much is still left unknown about this op?

We will probably never know. Just as we will probably never know why the K-129 sank in the first place.

Post proof.
Anyone here ever refinished a gun or gun parts? I want to sandblast and refinish these magazines but I don't know what to use on them afterwards.

Bumping for interest and: is there any other way to darken a stainless steel barrel besides bead blasting it? It costs $100 to do in my area and that's what the barrel cost anyways.
>>28288109
Anodizing, chrome plating, or acid etching can work.
Pop got me on ed of these for christmas.
All the reviews seem good, does /k/ have any experience with it?
I have one. I have it bolted to my bedframe. Seems really solid and deploys really fast. I have my glock 19 in there ready to go whenever I go to bed.

So I came to you fuys yesterday and I have decided to get a Mkpistol and convert it into an SBR. Should I go the route of the MP5K (with or without the threaded barrel) or the traditional MP5?

MP5K cuz it looks cooler.

I am about to purchase two cases of old military surplus spam cans that contains 7.62x54r and before I do that and take my 91/30 mosin nagant to the range Is there any way on how to properly clean the ammo before use and this is a serious question here I am asking. I do not want trolls or dumb liberal idiots on here and I do not want to hear ( hurr durr throw it into the tumbler hurr durr! ) I have heard this countless of time and i do not want to fucking do that it is careless and dangerous to do that to live ammo!!! And plus I don't have a tumbler so like I said before is there anyway on how to clean the ammo because I just want to keep my rifle in a healthy condition and safe that is all...
>>28285219
If they are sealed tins there shouldn't need to be any cleaning of the cases before shooting.
>>28285219
I just wipe mine down with a dry, old, cut up T shirt. It gets the majority of the crud off.
>>28285219
you could wipe down every round with a rag if you want, thought they should not be dirty if they come from a spam can.
the reason your gun will get dirty is because of the gunpowder inside the cartridge and ultimately the explosives in the primer is the corrosive part.
always clean your gun after shooting corrosive primer ammo, even after shooting non-corrosive ammo you should still at least wipe it down and run some cloth thru the barrel.
/k/, I would like to get a .22 pistol for my three younger sisters this Christmas. My mother and I already own guns and carry, so this would not be my family's first exposure to firearms. My sisters are interested in funs, but uninitiated so my question is this: What are some good .22 pistols that are easy to use for girls ages 13-20 and can serve as learning springboard into the wonderful world of firearms? My budget is approximately $500 but flexible. If I am under budget enough, I may consider getting a .22 revolver in addition to a more 'regular' .22 pistol.
It's also worth mentioning that one my sisters is left handed, if that helps narrow anything down.

>>28285124
Get a rifle, not a pistol. Way easier for a noob, especially a girl, to get into trouble with a pistol. In fact I don't think women should own firearms at all, but if you are bent on getting your sisters a gun I would highly encourage you to go the rifle route.
>>28285130
Get fucked faggot, you don't even know what you are talking about. Family members don't count as straw purchases (which are never prosecuted anyway unless as tack on charges for more serious crimes)
Why do indians take pride of BrahMos, as if it was a thing they made, when it's practically ALL russian tech?
Also, I read somewhere that they "made" an anti-supersonic defense system with the israelis. WTF? Why would you give *anyone* the tech to defeat your own missiles?
And finally, what do you think about BrahMos?
I don't think its about the origin of the tech but more like the Indians now have the capability to defend itself competently against rival powers with a pretty decent weapon in their arsenal
>>28285093
oh, I forgot to ask: why did the russians help the indians with this? what did they gain? why didn't they just keep the tech for themselves instead, and sold it to india?
>>28285125
well, they also have the capability to build these missiles, too. I just hope they don't sell it or give it to anyone else, though... but apparently they actually did, they gave the tech to israhell.
>>28285186
>why did the russians help the indians with this?

What the FUCK is this?
Virginia is going to pull this SHIT when they hand out permits like candy????
I live in NC and had to actually attend a physical class all day on Saturday for 8 hours as well as qualify on the range, yes it was easy but far more involved than the Virgina permit.....
These guys in Virginia are SERIOUS hypocrites saying most other states dont have strong enough requirements when their own system is all online! WTF!
I have to qualify at a range in NC, yet my permit isnt good enough but they can just apply online be good to go!.....
This is madness.
As a result Virginia permits are now no longer acceptable in "Florida, Louisiana, North Dakota, Pennsylvania, South Carolina and Wyoming" since these states require Virginia to recognize theirs.
>>28284933
Well that's fucking gay, I live in PA but visit VA often enough that this will be a nuisance to me.
>>28284933
Virginia only recognizes " West Virginia, Michigan, Oklahoma, Texas and Utah" permits now..
Heads up guys, you dont want to be carrying in this state unless you have one of these permits (or a Virginia one).
Its fucking crazy, that in NC I had to be finger printed, get the form notarized, qualify, attend an 8 hour class, pass a written test and be searched in local, state and national databases and somehow this isnt good enough for Virginia? hypocrites.
>>28284933
>these guys
It's one guy doing this. The Attorney General Democrat butt buddies with the gun grabbing governor.
This is why "interpretation" statutes is bad, when you get real shitheads into office that ruin 30 years of agreements in 10 minutes.
>yfw you realize procuring a concealed handgun permit is the government's indirect way of creating a gun owners registry.
This is why I refuse to get one.
>>28284926
I think my brother was saying some shit to this effect last night at dinner. Are you my brother?
>>28284926

Civilian here. How hard is it to actually earn the privilege of fighting in special forces ie. SAS JTF2 GROM etc.? Is it sort of if you work or train hard enough you'll make it or is it like professional sports that likely you're just born with it?
Also post some gud pics
Im gonna let you in on some operator advice anon...
Its pretty fucking hard
Cant you google it? There have been countless books and docos done about SAS selection.
it's hard, but not professional Athlete hard. you can train into it. i'd say its 10% Luck, 20% Skill, 15% Concentrated Power of Will, 5% Pleasure, 50% Pain, and 100% Reason to Remember the Name.
A bunch of faggots are going around vandalizing my local community. They don't target anyone in particular, just breaking into cars and smashing property across several adjacent neighborhoods. Last night my neighbor's christmas lights got cut. I'm fucking sick of these degenerates and the police are doing jack shit. I'm going to catch them myself, or at least find out who did it and call the cops.
How should I go about doing this? I'm back home from college till the 15th so I don't have too much time.
I had a few ideas:
>Camera
Spend some money on a security camera and only protect the driveway. Ideal because it can catch them while I'm away, but that's such a small area to cover.
>Thermal Camera and/or Ghillie suit
I take walks at night all the time, but this time I would drop $300 on a suit and thermal camera for my phone and hunt them myself. Problem is if I have to tail them into a neighborhood (I'd stalk them in the farm fields in ghillie) I'd look suspicious as hell. Thermal would allow me to see through the dark, but I'm thinking I don't really need it, as my area is very well lit and I can see extremely far in the dark with all the ambient light.
Now, I also have a list of suspects:
>Old man down the street
He has peculiar habits and a bad temperament, but he's in his late 50s, and it seems like it's just WAY too much effort for him to wander to other neighborhoods several miles away
>Teenage shitheads in another neighborhood
While I was out one night I saw these high school retards drive drunk on an empty road, then pull into their house. I've seen other teenagers driving fancy sports cars (spoiled brats) also go into the same house. Wouldn't surpass me if these pissants vandalized for fun.
>Blacks from outside
My area is almost all white with an asian minority. I've seen blacks maybe twice in the past year in my area. One time these two city youths were randomly wandering my street. The second time was when I was getting my mail, some black [CONT]
[cont] woman came up and asked if I wanted to donate to some poor youths charity. I declined and she hopped into a grimy white van that absolutely did not look suspicious in any regard. I doubt it's them though-- I just never see them around enough.
I'm leaning most towards the teenagers in the other neighborhood. They're the most suspicious. I'm probably going to monitor them for a while, problem is-- once they hope into their cars and drive I have to chase them on foot to not seem suspicious.
Just post outside your house in the bushes or at your window, get some security lights and set up trip wires hooked to a car alarm
>>28284768
>My area is almost all white with an asian minority.
You are probably safe from the blacks because they know they are out of placed and definitely noticed. Half of my neighborhood watch newsletter/blotter is all "suspicious African American seen walking".

>Rail-mobile launcher used in DF-41 ejection test
>U.S. intelligence agencies recently monitored a Chinese test of a new rail car-based long-range missile capable of hitting targets throughout the United States.
>The canister ejection test of a DF-41 missile from a rail-mobile launcher was detected on Dec. 5 in western China, said defense officials familiar with reports of the test.
>However, Chinese rail-based missile development has been carried out in the past at the Wuzhai missile test center, also known as the Taiyuan satellite launch center since 1982, according to declassified CIA documents. The launch site is located in China’s central Shanxi Province.
>The test this month marks a significant milestone for Chinese strategic weapons developers and demonstrates that Beijing is moving ahead with building and deploying the DF-41 on difficult-to-locate rail cars, in addition to previously-known road-mobile launchers, the officials said.
DF-41 ICBM got train-bount!
So, what are the advantages of a train-based ICBM system?
>>28284758
>Previous disclosures from China on the DF-41, including Internet photographs, all showed the heavy missile deployed on a wheeled transporter erector launcher that is moved on roads.
>The DF-41, with a range of more than 7,500 miles, is China’s most potent ICBM and was flight tested a day before the rail car ejection test with two multiple-independently targetable reentry vehicles (MIRVs), officials said.
>Military analysts say the mobile basing of missiles is designed to complicate preemptive attacks on nuclear forces, such as those envisioned under the Pentagon’s Prompt Global Strike program, which will use precision-guided conventional weapons capable of striking targets at any location on earth within minutes of their discovery.
>U.S. intelligence agencies estimate the DF-41 when deployed will carry up to 10 MIRVs—vastly increasing Beijing’s current warhead stockpile, which is based on single-warhead missiles, and currently estimated to include around 300 warheads.
>China is believed to have obtained rail-mobile missile technology from Ukraine, which during the Soviet period built the SS-24 rail-based ICBM, according to a report by Georgetown University’s Asian Arms Control Project.
>China state television in 2006 released the first details of the train basing for missiles in video footage showing missile launch cars, command cars, and other missile system railcars—all disguised as passenger train cars.
>The Georgetown report said the Chinese rail-mobile ICBM system is modeled on the Ukrainian-designed SS-24, and is known as a “land nuclear submarine”—an indication the rail launcher uses an ejection tube to boost the missile from the train car shortly before ignition of its engine.
>China also is developing an extensive rail and tunnel system devoted to the missile train in central China, according to the report.
>>28284758
More difficult to locate, provides an additional vector of attack
Since China is still the underdog, it makes it more likely these will survive a US invasion and be used against us, thereby resulting in the eradication of the Chinese
>>28284758
And yet MAD still doesn't exist between us and them.
The end.
Other than renting a .22 rifle every now and again, I mostly stick to my pistol. Yesterday I got to shoot a Remington 870 and goddamn that thing has some kick. That being said, I hardly had to aim it and it still bullseyed a target at 25 feet. I'd like to try some other ones, but ammo is expensive and after 15 shells I started to bruise a little. Do they make milder shotguns/ less powerful shells?
