I want to make a modern vambrace
using modern composite materials, maybe disguise it as a medical brace for the wrist
we have a lot of knife attacks and street crime where I am, and it seems like a good kind of prtection that won't make me look like an autist
>but anon, you are an autist
on that's not going to get stabbed anytime soon
knife proof material is fairly easy, but I was thinking about a tensile steel frame to disperse shock, I'm not sure how best to rig it

go to sleep and don't wake up until your winter break is over.
or better yet, dont wake up.
>>28293977
when you have to tell yourself that you won't look like an autist, you are only proving how denial of just how much of an autist you will look like.
>>28293977
just start carrying a buckler u autist, attach straps to it and wear it on your back when not needed
Why is Iran considered such a threat?
>>28293629
Because kikes.
Saudis and Israelis consider them a threat and the US is a slave to their local interests
What happened to the Shahs money after he fled?
Why hasn't 10mm Auto caught on too much?
Is it very expensive or too powerful for manlets to handle?
How does it compare to .45 ACP?
>>28293555
>>28293568
>such bullets leave the gun's barrel white hot when fired
Bullshit.
Yes, it's too powerful for 90% of the population to deliver reliable followup shots with.
It's expensive to buy a gun in it and it's expensive to shoot compared to the big three.
It's a reloader's round, for making use of all that extra case length. A niche.
>How does it compare to .45 ACP
It's .41 magnum for autoloaders.
Similar or slightly superior muzzle energy and velocity to high end .45 loads out of the box, you need to hand load it to really get the most out of it.
If you're talking about stopping people, everything south of .50 AE performs more or less the same.
Not sure where else to ask this, so I'll try here. I broke my hand a month ago and had the cast taken off yesterday. I also turned 21 and bought my first carry pistol a few days after I broke it. I've been dying to shoot it but should I wait a few more weeks before I go to the range?
It's not a sledgehammer, you'll be fine.
fuckin pussy. casts off right? pussy.
>>28293402
we're not your doctor, go ask them.
Find a flaw. You can't.
>>28293352
Looks like shit.
Your pic is upside down OP...
>>28293352
Stock isn't in line with the rest of the gun.
What would a modern prop fighter look like?
I was surprised to read the Super Tucano's specs and find out that it would get completely BTFO by any late-war piston fighter in a gunfight.
What could we do with modern aerodynamics and turboprops to build a hypothetical evolution of a WWII fighter?
who would this prop fighter fight? Modern jets? WWII era planes? What weapons are available? Land based/carrier based? Is it a multi role/CAS/strike plane?
>>28293258
If we had to come up with an actual role for it, a helicopter-killer would probably be the most practical one.
But really, it's a totally hypothetical situation that doesn't have any real-world utility. Imagine that it's some kind of world where jets and missiles didn't take off, but turboprops did, and we have all of our other modern aircraft tech.
This, with IRST and shit
http://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/sajjan-refuses-to-rule-out-f-35-from-fighter-jet-replacement-competition-1.3375507
So what will the Canadian government say if they do pick the F-35 again? Should Lockheed even bother selling them the plane to them after all the grief they caused?
>>28293088
Lockheed doesn't need to say a thing, the mere fact that Canada will wind up buying it anyway after Dudeweed shit the bed says more than they ever could.
https://www.flightglobal.com/news/articles/f-35-not-ruled-out-of-canadian-fighter-competition-420264/
>In a conference call from Erbil in northern Iraq today, Harjit Sajjan said replacing the nation’s 77 Boeing CF-18A/Bs in a “timely manner” is his focus, not ruling a particular aircraft in or out.
>“My focus is about replacing our CF-18, and we’re going through a proper process to make sure we have the right requirements so we have the right capability, not only for our country but for how we relate to NORAD (North American Aerospace Defense Command) and our commitments to NATO,” says Sajjan, who assumed the role in November following a change of government.
>“We’re going to do this in a responsible manner.”
>Sajjan indicated that the new government would not actively block the F-35 from participating.
>“The question always comes up about whether it’s F-35 or another type of aircraft,” he says. “This is not about the F-35. My mandate and my role is about replacing the F-18.
>“We are committed to replacing the F-18s in a timely manner so that we do not create a capability gap that has been created in the past with our ships.”
>>28293114
This pretty much. It just goes to show how retarded dudeweed is.
http://mil.today/2015/Weapons11/
neat
>>28293006
But what's the point? SU-35BM is pretty much the same but better than Mig-31 now while the T-50 does all the above. Maybe this time Russia would actually get more planes?
Russia has not yet agreed, this is only MiG saying they need a new interceptor and they are willing to provide it.
It's like McDonald Doglas saying you need B-3 bomber so we will make you one.
Anyone down to SQUAD?
What is it and how do I do it
>>28293001
How hard will you people shill this game before you decide it's enough
What do police forces do when their country is invaded? Are they expected to stay and fight, or do they just follow the civvies in any evacuations and let the armies deal with it?
>>28292923
Not expected to fight in a million years unless they have a contingency like the Basij
Evacuate civilians and help with relief efforts, as well as continuing their normal policing duties.
If the situation necessitated increased security details for VIPs and important facilities, they might also be drafted for that, although it would likely still be the military running things.
I doubt you'd see police officers in actual combat, unless the country was truly on the ropes and every able-bodied man was being sent to the front. Even in a total war scenario with conscription, police officers are unlikely to see combat (discounting reservists who work with the police as their day job) since someone has to stay behind to keep the peace at home.
>>28292923
At most you will see them in first response engaging enemies that get too close to the evacuations but other than that the other replies have it.
Hello /k/. I am looking for an affordable .357 revolver that doesn't suck scrotum. I have a budget of up to 450 US dollars, and would prefer something at least somewhat reliable. Please toss me some suggestions. I dislike snub noses.
Lurking this thread for something similar in .38 or .357
Used GP100
>>28292981
get a police trade in Model 10 if you want a .38
Great guns for less than 400 as long as you dont mind holster wear
>>28292893
as for .357
Ruger GP100 of S&W 586 / 686
Im looking at getting one of these 2, leaning towards the 586
I have been thinking, is there any dead historical figures who would have been loved by /k/. Do we have a few historical figures who would be honorary /k/ommandos. I nominate Mad Jack Churchill because he was a total badass.
I wish more people knew about this guy, he was such a genuine person while being more operator than vining
The more I learn about Jack the less I like him
He seemed like a show-off that got his men killed
Lewis B Puller, USMC
Anyone shoot USPSA, IPSC, Steel Challenge? Any and all competition shooting goes here.
Quick question, if a MTF tranny was entered into a 3 gun match, would they shoot women's or men's division? What if they were post hrt and have titties, but still swing a bat?
I feel like they would have to shoot male division and would get a ton of crap, but on the other hand, we do let the French compete.
>>28292524
Your gf a trap?
>>28292524
I shoot IDPA. Want to try USPSA, but there isn't a club near me.
I'm not too familiar with USPSA rules, but I don't think there are gender divisions. I know IDPA doesn't have them. If there are, then at a local low-level match it would probably be up to how tolerant the locals are of being trans. At a big time match, no idea.
>>28292596
Specified 3gun, pretty sure they are male/female divisions.
I guess the best option would be contacting the organization directly, who makes the rules?
>>28292580
No, just wondering
But I like swords. Am I not wanted on /k/?
>>28292426
Nah. Yer cool.
>>28292426
You may be LESS wanted, but /k/ is weapons, not guns. If you're interested in the use of swords, not just the swords themselves, you may want to check the HEMA threads on /asp/ as well.
Fuck off back to whatever shitlord board you came from .
This is /k/, not faggot willy wop sword and shield
Where can i get bulk 7.62x54r online???
