>Ban all private means of motorized transportation
>Have government run all means of motorized transportation
>DWI/DUI/Road Rage/Negligent injuries involving motorized transportation drops drastically
>People become more healthy through means of non-motorized transportation
>Less overall injuries and deaths and more jobs for the masses
>All because private citizens don't NEED motorized transportation

Apparently this argument means I'm ignorant, have no grasp on reality, an don't understand 'the point'

>Ban all private ownership of firearms
>Have government own all firearms
>Crime somehow drops drastically
>People become less fearful of guns being everywhere because all the criminals surly turned them in
>Less people will be injured because there are no guns so no crime
>All because private citizens don't NEED firearms

But this argument someone makes perfect unquestionable sense.

You know top actually makes some sense in densely populated areas, where people don't need personal vehicles to get around (shorter walking distances + public transport + business vehicles for bulk transport). It would save an awful lot of money, result in cleaner air, and promote energy independence.

That said, it would suck ass for people traveling through, and I bet serious carfags would get royally pissed.
>>
Firearms don't get you to a workplace on time, neither is a car specifically designed to kill, injure or strike an object with high energies as the success of it's operation. A car killing or injuring something under the hands of a private citizen is a failure state. A weapon, firearm or otherwise, disabling or killing a "threat" EG: some poor bastard a nigga want to drop is a successful operation of said device in both private and public hands.

Learn what guns are for jeebus. Don't hit me with that "recreational shooting" shit either, those people are not the problem and competition implies regulation on what tools you have and where to keep them.
>>
>>28364313
It wouldn't though. Because Public Intoxication would shoot through the roof, socially unacceptable behavior would become commonplace in public vehicles and inevitably people would become sick of paying for people to move themselves around an area and work to defund it.

Ok guys, poorfag here. I've always wanted one of these, has anyone owned one? I'm between getting one of these or trying a retro AR build.

No. Look at the lateboyscout's youtube channel. He got a slam fire off the bat and some minor parts breakages. No thanks. Rail is loose too.

Retro AR all day... you can assure it's not shit.

Ha! I just got done watching that. I'm watching Sootch right now, he says he has had no issues.

My only issue is that I like my rifles to have a bit of weight to them, I have a VZ2008(I did say I was a poorfag) and it feels like a toy. Do older AR's feel like toys?

Is it really worth the extra $300? Why do you think so?

Hey /k/, I want to build my own AR15 from scratch (always bought prebuilts and never really did much in the way of customizing) and I'd like to start from the base with an 80% lower. I have access for the next few months to the big bridgeport Milling machine and have used them for engineering projects in the past, so I feel comfortable with using it and having seen how-to's on the 80% nothing in it is beyond my abilities, but one thing I'd like to know is, how hard would this be to do without a jig? To me, the great thing about the 80% is the reduced price to build, but a $100-$250 jig kinda defeats the purpose (and I don't intend to build 20 of these to make up the price) so how hard would it be to do without one? The main cut down the middle for trigger group seems fine enough but what about the safety switch and pin holes? Is this doable without a jig?

Cont'

I guess what I'm asking is, how exact are the tolerances on the holes? As in, what's the play for distances? 0.001 mm? less/more? The machine can handle tolerances down to that but can differences in distances be handled by the finished weapon?
>>
Yes, I've done it. Drill the holes undersize and ream them to the correct size first before milling the pocket.
>>
>>28363763

Why not drill them to correct size in the first go? The Bridgeport can definitely handle the material. Not disagree just curious.

So I bought my first ever gun today from my gun store in town, but it kinda was a sucky experience. I bought a Ruger LC9 because of its sleek look, nice feel for my hands and the safety features. However I had to listen to a big talk by the clerk about how the single best safety is my mind and responsible use of a fire arm. I don't get it, these safeties with the loaded chamber sign and all were probably one of the better selling points for me as a person whose never even touched a gun before. I even was tempted by a Kel-tec PF9 which the clerk was suggesting, which I nearly bought because of its super good price, but the Luger was just so appealing and I think worth the extra 50 bucks.

Anyway, are safety features like the manual switch really such shit? I figure you could just ignore and not use them if its not something you can really dig. Even if I do, its just a thumb flick that doesn't take much thought after I've practiced drawing some.

>>
>>28363264
I'd recommend you take a basic firearm safety course, anon.
>>
>>28363264
Because a manual safety on a DA/SA or striker fired carry gun is just something else you have to do in order to fire the gun. If you are a safety sally and just pop paper for kicks and never plan to carry a handgun you are the person these overly safe handguns are marketed for.

anybody have history with the SWFA SS 10x?

I was initially looking at a bushnell LRS 10x42 and most people said spend the extra bit of money on one of these

I'd like to hear /k/'s response before I cash out though

it will only be mounted on a Howa m1500 in .308 hence the cheaper optic and relatively low magnification because it's only a .308

honestly I first came across the idea of a fixed 10 from the movie Shooter because it's on his r700 (pic related)

I know a movie would be thinking what's cheapest and looks most tactical, but then I thought about it and realized a fixed 10 isnt a bad idea because you dont need to stress about FFP or SFP in a drastically cheaper yet still high quality level of glass

Do NOT buy from Bushnell; I'm telling you.

I've owned 4 of their products, both times they broke/factory defected, both times I got a replacement, both times they sent me slightly less fucked up versions. The cunt from the MAC had a bushnell scope and it wouldn't hold zero.

I had a BTR-1 and TRS25.

Do not buy from Bushnell. Literally anything else is a better choice.

Only a .308? If you're any kind of a shooter you're going to push the limits of 10x in a hurry.

Hey /k/, I'm looking for an open sight bolt-action in .223. The options I found so far are the CZ 527, Ruger Gunsite Scout, Savage Hog Hunter, Mossberg MVP. I'm leaning towards the Hog Hunter or the CZ. Are there any other good options avaiable. Which of the options I've found seem like the best choice?
13 posts and 2 images submitted.
>>
>>28362342
Both the Ruger and Savage are great, I've heard Mossberg is a shit, don't know about CZ
>>
>>28362382
The only thing I don't like about the Savage is the blind mag, but I could learn to like that. CZ is sexy. The Ruger looks good, but is also the most expensive. Mossberg takes AR mags.

I'm really torn.
>>
>>28362342
There is one other option I know of, the Zastava M85 from J&G Sales:
http://www.jgsales.com/zastava-m85-223-bolt-action-mini-mauser-left-hand-rifle,-cai-yugo-import.-new.-p-60281.html

It has a Mauser action, so its similar to the CZ which also has a Mauser action. However, the M85 has a fixed internal magazine where the CZ uses magazines. The M85 will probably be the cheapest option, though. Other than the above info, I have no other experience or knowledge of the M85.

How often do you fags clean your guns? After every shooting session, or every other one?

>>
>>28362102
You're supposed to clean them?

I only shoot the low powered surplus 54r out of my Mosin, am I ok?
>>
>>28362102

Depends how much I shoot, the quality of the ammo shot, and the firearms purpose (ccw, range beater, safe queen).

Unless it is an expensive gun or my carry weapon/shtf gun, I typically don't clean them after casual shooting. The consensus from many gunsmiths who I have talked to is that, constant rigorous cleaning of firearms will degrade them more than just letting them sit after being shot a casual amount.
>>
>>28362141
Interesting, thanks for that anon. I have a .45, and when I go to the range I'll shoot like 100 rounds no problem. I'd imagine it's good to clean it after shooting that many rounds from a pistol?

Anyone else disgusted when a civvy walks by them without acknowledging my BDU camo and hat patches?

I fight to protect these worthless bags of meat and the least they could do is respect that.

If I spot a civvy alone somewhere, you better believe I'm sparking up a conversation about my patches. Why? Because I can.

Secret service pls go.

Anyway, use a drone IED. Haven't you noticed how little he appears outside. When he does, he has plexiglass shields around him to thwart sniper fire. You would need advance notice of an outdoor event and get over the shields. Also, your drone needs to be low observable to radar and low noise but high yield. That is harder than it sounds.
>>
>>28362135
What about a small, maybe 5lb smart bomb, dropped from a higher altitude drone?
