Why is the sks considered to be the best innawoods rifle when surplus 7.62x39mm would rust it up without proper cleaning? I would imagine it would be difficult to clean an sks without a steady supply of clean water.
I would rather use a .308 Winchester bolt action rifle.
>easy cleaning
>non-corrosive ammo
>ammo available anywhere
>>28375666
because it was $200 for a semi auto in a cheap military caliber when it earned that reputation. it's still going to be better than a bolt gun in a shootout and tougher than a deer rifle, you can get non-corrosive 7.62x39, the vast majority of it is non-corrosive nowadays. and the bore is chromed anyhow.
>>28375666
Why get a bolt action when you can get a g3 clone with all the pros of that bolt action and then some

Just don't use surplus you faggot. Anyone who relies on surplus ammo when their life is on the line deserves to be killed.
What's the most efficient way to spend your time/ammo at the pistol range?
Half my shots go low left, half my shots are dead on. I'm mostly doing this with my 1911, 45 stronk. It doesn't seem to happen with revolvers or .22 semis. I know I'm flinching/squeezing the gun right as the shot goes off, but I don't really know how to stop. It's got tons of checkering and decent grips, I know it's not actually slipping, but it still feels like it's going to jump out of my hand.
So, instead of just standing there and blasting away, hoping that the problem will fix itself, are there any exercises/strategies I can use to fix this?
dry fire your shit
shoot a bunch
make sure your grip and trigger control are on point, other than that it is a mental thing that will keep your flinch minimized
Hijacking thread. It's now a pistol general.
Here's how I'm shooting /k/. What the hell is breaking wrist up? I'm also curious how you correct the "too little trigger", what does that mean? I do have a tendency to not follow through on my shots, that's something I know how to fix so no questions there.
>>28375555
>>28375774
hold the gun tighter, grip if as hard as you can, its called the crush grip.
also let your finger rest wherever it is comfortable on the trigger, some faggots say to use the pad of your finger, that is hogwash and only correct if you have babby hands and that is where it naturally goes.

Okay so picture this for a moment.
One day you wake up from your bed with your mosin nagant wife that you had sex with last night and you go to the kitchen and pour in some vodka and nuggets for breakfast and you go to step out on your yard with your cuban cigar that you got from the black market to relax.
Suddenly there are literally dozens of these African Bullfrogs all over your yard and they are tearing up your yard and trying to pick them up bites you.
So what does /k/ do in this unfortunate situation in time and day?
fuck off
>>28375522
Pick up with shovel
Put in car
Put in my boss's mailbox and on his lawn
>>28375522
Where do you live that there are bullfrogs all over your yard???
Like the other guy, pick them up with a shovel.
..and keep them as pets, because giant frogs, man.
>brother and I both recently bought BUGs
>him a G43, me a Micro Eagle
>going out to lunch today, each bring our new BUG
>after lunch, we decide to go see Star Wars
>get to the theatre, bro decides his G43 is uncomfortable and wants to take it off
>doesn't want to leave it in the car
>I'm wearing a thick winter coat, say I'll just put it in my jacket pocket (unchambered)
>do so, it's thin so it doesn't bug me at all
>walk into the theatre with three guns on me
>buy a $5 Icee because I'm feeling extra American
>see movie, it's bretty good
>driving home bro gets pulled over for speeding
>both present CPLs and tell the cop we're carrying (MI law)
>"OK, no problem. Just tell me where your guns are, don't reach in that area, and we'll be good"
>bro says "I have a P229 on my right hip"
>cop nods and looks at me
>"I have an FNS on my right hip... and a Micro Desert Eagle in my right rear pants pocket... and a Glock 43 in my jacket pocket"
>hfw
"...you're carrying three guns?"
>try to explain that bro didn't want to leave it in the car for three hours
>officer asks if we mind if he runs the serial numbers, we don't
>he backs up a few feet and says "okay then, both of you get out, slowly unholster your guns and place them on the seats, then stand by the curb"
>he unloads the guns, leaves the mags and ammo on the seats, and brings them to his car
>comes back and says the two aren't registered to us
>apologize and give him our sales record copies (it takes up to 30 days for handguns to enter the electronic state registry, need to carry the paper reg with you for 30 days just in case)
>puts the guns in the trunk and says to reload and reholster them when he leaves
>asks me what the fuck a Micro Desert Eagle is and says it's cool
>gives bro a $200 ticket for driving like a fuck
>lets us go
First time I've been stopped while carrying. Wasn't too bad I suppose. A douchebag could have jammed us up for not immediately providing the paper registrations. Seemed like an OK guy overall.
>comes back and says the two aren't registered to us
Uhhh, I'm pretty sure they just check to see if they're stolen......correct me if im wrong though.
>apologize and give him our sales record copies (it takes up to 30 days for handguns to enter the electronic state registry, need to carry the paper reg with you for 30 days just in case)
Fuckin wat?
>>28375493
>tfw Michigan
Handguns are registered in Michigan. You hand in a paper form to your local LE, who forward it to the state police for entry into the electronic database. Because of this it can take a while for the registration to show up electronically, so you're required to keep a copy with the pistol for 30 days.
Basically we just bought the guns 3 days ago, and the registry info hasn't been uploaded yet, so when the cop ran the info we didn't come up as the registered owners.

Anyone else like me? I'm able to be a normal human being without taking the ativan I'm prescribed, all thanks to firearms.
Also I guess cc general. Just picked up a cheap snubbie so I'm finally able to carry without looking like I'm about to shoot a place up

Ever see a movie called "Dear Wendy"?

I just dope up on clonazepam/lorazepam every time I leave the house. Works every time.
Then again, I'm not afraid of violence happening to me, more like someone might talk to me or I'll get trapped in a long line or something stupid.
and keep a handgun in my car
What happens when a ccing person with an anxiety disorder starts getting disproportionately anxious to common situations?
Sounds like a great idea!
Remington 870 Synthetic 18" (90s made, WAY before Cerberus). First time I took it to the range it would cycle fine until I tried cycling it fast. It jammed and the extractor wouldn't ramp over the shell rim to pull it out.
Some of the time when I'm cycling it unloaded the extractor will hit the barrel and stop the bolt instead of ramping in the extractor groove away from it. The extractor appears to not be deformed so I'm thinking the spring is pushing the extractor too far inwards.
Anyone experience anything like this and have a fix? I'm going to clean/lube it right now and see if it improves. The extractor moves freely (but very gritty) with good spring tension.
bump. pls help
>>28375022
Problem is obvious. Should've bought an Ithaca or Mossberg.
>>28375022
how worn is the barrel does the notch look all sorts of peened cant really tell cause of the flash
i had an 870 like that and my fix was filing the notch in the barrel more so it wouldnt get stuck the gun seemed to function fine after that but i never felt like i fixed it the proper way cause the brass would get marked up eventually i just replaced the barrel which brought the gun back to working correctly
sup /k/,
Looking to get into sport shooting, and I'm ready to purchase (been renting for the most part).
While I do have a budget, I'm still new to buying, and I was wondering if I could get some pointers of what to look for in a good shotgun. I'm between a semiautomatic or an over under, both sub 1000.
mossberg 500
>>28375000
Pump: used Remington 870 (pre-2007), Mossberg 500 (and derivatives), Winchester SXP is okay. Any of these under $350 would be fine.
For a little more, you could go Nova or SuperNova. I would go Nova unless you would use 3.5" shells hunting.
I would avoid the BPS and Ithaca 37 due to the bottom feed port being a pain when shooting trap and the lack of an open ejection port for service.
Autoloaders:
Avoid Turkshit for trap if you are going to be shooting volume. This includes Weatherby, Stoeger, and CZ. For casual shooting, they are probably okay.
Also avoid the Remington VersaMax.
I would recommend Beretta A400 or Montefeltro, but they are out of the price range unless used.
An older Remington 1100 could work well, but their gas system requires a fair bit of maintenance.
I have Mossberg 930 for this coming season and it has yet to have any issues with my pre-season shooting. The Winchester SX2 and SX3 are good and are just FN designs.
>>28375000
Also, if you are serious about skeet, I would strongly recommend an autoloader over pump. Skeet can be shot with a pump, but the reset on recoil and then racking the slide can hurt your recovery.
For most clay disciplines, an O/U or unsingle is preferred. Starting out, something like a Linberta or CZ Redhead (or the cheaper Mallard) would be okay. Both are Turkish but seem to hold up better than their autoloaders.
Does /k/ have a place in their house/dorm/apartment/etc that just doesn't feel as safe or secure as the rest? A place where every time you go you hope and pray that Tyrone/ATF/Norks doesn't choose to bust in your door at that moment?

>>28374590
You have to fill out an FFL at a licensed store to allow them to legally recieve and transfer firearms from online, if that's what you mean. Usually it's pretty cheap.
As for cheap handguns, used they start at about $200 but you get what you pay for. Avoid anything called a HiPoint, it's a complete piece of shit.
