I was wondering i have been wanting to get a vp70 for some time now. But im still looking around online to get the best price and value. My question what is the best price range and site to get one
It's shit

You're shit
>>28381265
I've seen $575 at local FFL and $475 on gunbroker.
is my gun fucked? It looks to me like the slide isn't going all the way forward with a round chambered. I don't know if this is normal for p64s though.
>>28381135
P64 Headspace's on extractor. That's why you can shoot .380 or 9x18 Makarov in it. If it Headspace's on the case mouth, you wouldn't see what your pic shows.
>>28381438
I didn't know you could shoot 380 with them. neat.

so there's no problem with mine?
>>28381438
>That's why you can shoot .380 or 9x18 Makarov in it
don't fire .380 out of a mak chambered gun. .380 is smaller diameter than 9x18 and will fit loosely in the chamber, which could result in some gas in your face and ruptured cartridges, plus it won't be as accurate because the bullet can kind of bounce around in the barrel.
Anyone else into traditional hunting?
guys what are your modern style stone age /k/ weapons? stone, obsidian (aka dragongalss) or modern steel broadheads, knives, and spears are all acceptable.
Just put a down payment on a Bear Montana lonbow 40# draw. I have 2 fiberglass static recurves, a Martin White tail #50 and Shakespeare Paul Bunyan 600 #40 (both ambi bows), a Ragim Wolf 68in 45# draw, and finally I have a Bear Cub #35.
Will post pics if the thread is productive.
I prefer to use a recurve bow for just 3d archery. I think hunting should generally be left to compound bows
>>28387348
I have killed 4 deer with my paul bunyan. Animals are just meat. With a stout enough draw and good archery skills a 2 blade zwicky broadhead on wood arrows will kill just as fast a compound.
People were hunting with longbows for thousands of years before wheelie bows were invented.
>>28387364
yes. but compound bows are generally better suited for the task. that was my only point.

So has Trudeau said anything about coming for muh guns yet?

He's probably waiting until one of his pet Syrians to shoot up a place first. Don't worry, he has plenty of time.

He's reiterated his campaign promises to repeal parts of C-42 and thats it so far.

I'll be attending college soon in a college town about 2 hours away from home. I'm going to want something that I can keep in my console next to me in my truck in case if for whatever situation I need to defend myself. I'll also be traveling to Colorado and Utah for some camping for about a two week period with a friend, and would feel more comfortable with me having a form of protection, because you never know what'll happen in this crazy world, and I'd rather be safe than sorry. So ideas?
I'm not too experienced with pistols, as I've only owned and used rifles and shotguns. So what would be good, but not overkill when it comes to self defense, but something a moderate size to keep on my person for camping, or just roadside traveling?

S&W revolver in .357mag. No safety or hassle, just pull the trigger and boom
>>28380858
For more info: .357 out of a good weight revolver has very low recoil, .357mag caliber has the highest % of one-shot stops, and despite what paranoid people will tell you 6 shots is more than enough to kill anything that moves - mugger, snake, raccoon, agitated woodland critter, etc. Anything you can't kill with 6 shots of .357 you shouldn't go fuck with.
A used S&W will run you about $300-$400, they're reliable as all hell so unless something is outright broken you won't be getting conned. All around great babby's first gun

is this inhumane or frowned upon?
is wounding squirrels but possibly not killing them a big deal?

>>28386356
They're fucking squirrels who gives a shit
Personally I prefer to kill animals humanely when possible, but I certainly don't take it upon myself to shit on others who dont
>>28386356
If I were one of those squirrels I would be embarassed at being assaulted by a potato.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=POmIkMdWmjk
Know for a fact it's autentic, but the papers have been lost. Bought at an auction in the 60s.
I've heard it's of Turkish origin and from the 1700s.
Whole rifle
Bump, you're terrible at identifying weapons /k/

Any markings whatsoever on it?
I mean, it is fancy enough to be turkish, but that stock really isn't jezail-ly

I'm getting my CCW permit today, just gotta drive to the sheriff's office. Anyway, I was thinking about getting a little snubby Chiappa Rhino as my EDC. I figure if I'm gonna start carrying, might as well carry a meme gun.
What calibers should I look for that would stop an assailant, but not be too much recoil for decent rate of fire? I'm seeing .40 a lot on Gunbroker, should I try that, or with a different caliber? It also comes in .357 and 9mm. I already have a pistol in .40 so that would be one less ammo type I have to stockpile...
All around, how is the Rhino? I have a meatball, but this is a whole different type of usage in completely different situations. Does it make a good EDC? Any other thoughts?
>>28379999
> revolver in 40
> revolver in 9
> rhino snub
> already have a 40
> snub but not too much recoil
> revolver + decent rate of fire
> has meatball
> meme gun reference
The fuck? The fuck.
Don't carry. Even if you're trolling, you shouldn't be allowed to.
I wouldn't conceal carry anything other than 9mm or .380
I also wouldn't carry a revolver. although that one is pretty compact.
The rhino is good, but get the 200D not the DS. the 200D is a superior concealed carry gun (mechanically simpler, more reliable)
Also get it in .357 mag nigga.
Is it better to store guns standing in the open or cased?
>>28379995
You shouldn't store them in such a way that they may become dislodged and fall. Get a rack or lie them down.
>>28379995
Generally cased, but if you have low humidity it shouldn't be an issue
>>28379995
Holy shit, dust your fucking shelf
So im buyinh a cr 527 later today, well im planning on it.
Anyhow was thinking of putting a 4x to 8x scope on it.
To much zoom or not enough?
Thoughts?
>>28379926
What range do you expect to be shooting at most of the time? If it's just a light brush gun, anything over 2x is overkill and will slow down your acquisition.
For 100-200m, 4x is probably fine. 1-4x would be even better, since you could still use the 1x if you need to shoot in a hurry.
