But really, do you use gun locks, /k/? Or at the least do you treat them as a novelty and use them for other things?
>>28395669
Are you me? I just refound the lock that came with my GSR. I'm probably going to end up using it on my cases when going to the range.
>>28395669

Is Mcnigg out there in the snow in a white bedsheet ready to put rounds downrange into statism enforcement agents as they call him "The Black Death"?
Where were you when the first shots of the second revolutionary war were fired in Oregon?
Watching it on 4chan. Where else would I be on a Saturday night?
I am not sure what I would do if some rather large nosed individuals tried to scam me out of my families land using bully tactics enforced by federal agents who seem to work for the highest bidder.

he lookin at dat ass in the mossy oak.
Hey /k/, my birthday's coming up and I wanted to get myself something special. I was wanting a good all around handgun for bedside duty. While I already have various guns which I rotate around, I want one that's better than what I have and is an all around ideal handgun. For reference here is my current list of guns which I use-
* Beretta 92fs 9mm
* Glock 22 Gen 4 .40 S&W
* Springfield Mil-Spec 1911 .45
* Ruger GP100 3 inch .357
So hit me up with suggestions. Budget is around $1300, and I'm open to anything besides a Glock as I already have one and am not a fan even after shooting about 2000 rounds through it. So /K/, what do you recommend?
Anyone?

Hey /k/,
I've been itching to get a Makarov for a long time. My guns aren't safe queens, so I intend to carry it when I don't feel like carrying my current daily.
It's up between a P64 Radom and a CZ-82 (if i can find one.)
My biggest concern with the Makarovs is the finish. I'm a winter person, so when it comes to summer, I sweat a good amount. I've read mixed responses online and say that the finish picks up rust easily. If that is the case, I'd rather avoid the Makarov and go for something else.
>>28395497
If you keep it properly lined it won't be a problem. That being said, there is nothing sexier than a gun with wear on it.

Get a second hand soviet one with a nice wooden grip and oil it up good. Those babies can take a beating.
Was going to post in AR general, but they're epeen measuring their 'my ar is better than your ar' arguments.
What are my inexpensive-moderately priced options for magnified optics? I'm thinking a basic 1-4x for an AR carbine.
I do have a fixed front sight, is that going to screw with my scope? I've got a dremel somewhere that could take care of it.
>>28395485
Vortex Viper with turret caps
The front sight will probably be visible at lower magnification, but may not be when zoomed in. You can also mount the scope a little higher to look over the front sight post.
I'd rather replace the barrel, or build a 2nd upper, before I'd dremel a pinned gas block. I did once replace a pinned front sight with a clamp-on gas block, but only because the pins weren't reamed too deep into the barrel. I kept the front sight in the event I ever want to switch back. It's not the best solution, but it's stood up so far. The sheer difficulty of removing the pins was enough to sell me on just building an new upper for my next low profile AR build.
>>28395485
ya. Maybe just leave this upper as a red dot-irons and then get a 1-4 with a flat top instead. Makes sense. maybe go with a longer barrel and free float it too.
what about 3-9's? Anything that's good in the cheaper range for that?
>>28395485
Look into Primary Arms or Vortex. Both will serve you well.
What handgun is the most reliable and has the most affordable magazines
The gun has to cost between 400 to 800 dollars
I'm leaning more towards cost of the gun and cost of the magazines than the most reliable

What is the best battle rifle and why is it the G3?
>cheaper than FAiL
>more accurate
>dat HK slap
>better aftermarket
>won't lose zero from a bump like an M14
>cheap mags
>longer sight radius than FAiL
only downside is non-reloadable but who cares

This is now an /ak/ thread.

A friend of mine is looking for books and/or articles about light infantry units. The stuff he is interested in particular is their general purpose in strategic meaning. So not realy specific tactics but their role to play in a whole battle group.
Also feel free to consider this a general light infantry thread

Texan here, traveling to east coast, passing through NJ and NY.
I keep a handgun in my car.
Should I leave it at home?
Either I risk getting mugged by dindus or I risk getting raped by NJ police, neither are appealing.
>>28394539
Leave it at home. As long as you aren't a complete retard, you won't get mugged. But it's a very likely chance you will get pulled over.

That's about the cost of a SCAR or Tavor, right? I'd definitely get one of these instead except I live in a communist state. No ebul pistol grips or extendo clippazines for me.
I am looking to add a pump shotgun to the collection and all my research has shown me is that for some reason people don't like new Remington shotguns. What is the best pump shotgun for the money? It doesn't have to be the best shotgun ever made, just the best quality at a low price point.

Anyone here have experience building a gun from a parts kit? I'd like to start learning some home gunsmithing, and I figured the best way would be making a semiauto out of a demilled Uzi or Vz subgun. Any suggestions?
Also does anyone stateside have any more Mg42/Mg3 parts kits?
bump, sounds fun

I built a 1911 from a parts kit for $350. Sold it for $500. Didn't even eject right.
